    You don't need to keep checking the crimps. You check to make sure the tool is crimping correctly and than that's it. You check it every so often, not every time you crimp a couple rings.

      Yeah, not to sound rich, but for me as a home owner hiring the work out to a skilled professional, then yes... happy to pay some extra bucks for the quality checks shown here. What I find irritating is paying the bucks only to have to call them out to fix it and/or damage the issue caused. That's just me, though, who takes pride in the quality of my work in my profession.

    Use a elbow out of the valve, then you don’t need a 90 and reduce the chance of leaks

    Did you choose to use pex b or did you just walk onto this job? OR did they request pex b? It’s b for a reason, I know you have a cold expansion tool for pex a

    • @HomeRepairTutor
      @HomeRepairTutor  6 месяцев назад +3

      It wasn’t my choice, my client already ran the PEX B, so I just continued the installation. PEX B is fine if you have the space to use the tools. But I really like PEX A because it’s more flexible than B and the M12 expansion tool is terrific in tight joist or stud bays

      @@HomeRepairTutor I figured that was the case but I was curious, i really like the process of crimping but I worry about how well it can seal cause it’s just a little ring! I know it’s tried and true, on another note we bought a propress machine & it had a set of heads for crimping!!! It’s so cool

      @@davebuilds7261 that’s awesome! Let me know how you like that over time. It’s a big investment but very interesting option when wanting to keep everything copper. What brand did you go with?

      @@HomeRepairTutor we went with Milwaukee, it’s great however rigid has them beat with the compact jaw set, even the m12 propress has places it cannot get to, where the rigid can. Until Milwaukee comes out with a compact jaw set, I can only recommend the rigid propress

    Is there a reason you need to use a 90 degree fitting instead of slightly bending the pex?

    • @HomeRepairTutor
      @HomeRepairTutor  5 месяцев назад +1

      Yes, unfortunately I couldn’t bend the PEX B without kinking it. But if you can bend it without a kink, that’s a good option. And one reason I like PEX A better than PEX B, it’s more flexible

    why does pex b exist?
    pex A for the win! it blows my mind its used unless you have a high pressure situation.
    all that fitting cost all those right angles the flow and pressure loss and turbulence and the annoying crimping
    if i find out you use pex b i tell you your services are no longer needed hahahaha

      Both work well, and actually B holds up to a higher pressure than A does.
      You catch the recall for pex A a while back and the lawsuit against Uponor?
