The BMW 1M 135i cage is nearing completion, its NASCAR inspired aluminum front end is nearing completion, and we are swapping in a ZF 8HP50 using the HTG GCU. The E46 M52 engine is done so we will be putting the DCT back on and then throwing it back in the car.
DAMN! That front end looks LEGIT. 😆 Lol... I just had to.
Love that bumper beam, looking to do the same thing. I've butchered most of my rad support, only thing holding that intercooler on mine is the hoses and hope.
Following , currently doing 8HP45 on N54 with Lamik -keen on the front alloy bar frame. need this for my intercooler, and trans cooler mounting @8MWI35
They should make a jig and sell it . Swear to god all the guys that want to run bigger coolers and work on their cars will be all over it. including me.

A few questions if you have time to answer.
1. For the coolant tank, is the part you call a “high point” that goes to the oil cooler block off plate required? Or would it work with the two stock connections (upper radiator hose and the one by the thermostat)?
2. Will you be selling any of the items you are developing for the 1 series?
3. The kidney grill looks good with the mesh behind it. Did you make that or buy it?

What 8hp should I search for to mate up to a 330i m54b30?
Yes, same with 2 series, 3 series, 4 series, 6 series and 7 series with n55 engine. But it’s 45 not 50 and not as strong.
Hey guys I have a legit question. Is it possible to treat this engine like a 2j. What I mean is that can you make it dumber. so much Bmw hassle. Would it be possible to set it up on standalone like a 2j. and skip all the jb/reflex etc stuff. get rid of the di and lose a bit of efficiency in fuel burn to make it work better for drift / track abuse?? I'm full on ready to get flamed but god damn N54 is finicky as hell. Fuck all I want on my wifes e93 335i vert is to add a oil cooler setup(vegas heat) and a lot of what I find on YT there is always some issue . either from an lines leaking or the coolers themselves failing and I like the mosselman plate with thermostat but what happens if the thermostat fails? Literally can't find a no bullshit cut and dry solution.

Absolutely, there's quite a few guys that have deleted DI and gone a standard standalone. But that's dumb imo. Deleting the performance advantages the n54 has, spending $10k to do it.. just swap something else in.
