      I disagree. Although an awesome inspiring story, we need a stronger community to make crimes like the ones he faced as an individual cease to exist..this man paid a price when he pulled that gun on her at the end..that was the same type of stress he had been doing all that wrong in the name of the law to prevent..in other words, I think his moral of the story should be that we are all human..we have to boil down the drama to neutralize it all. If Mr Murphy faced himself after that incident, would we be watching this short film..that bullshit everyone faces is contagious..our " communities" see this and understand it from time to time yet we are unable to correct it to a point of distinction..Thanks to Mr MURPH' and to the production..

Also, I bet he had to turn his head a bit for the sake of information he needed at the time to solve crimes while dealing with "informants" who themselves are criminals. May this man be remembered as he wished it. That's first and foremost. Second, I admit, I was triggered hard watching this. When it got to the part where the ex con now author started railing on him, I literally started thinking of current events and my life. I've lived 46 years.... 46! Without committing a crime and nowadays people are being let out on a whim, because of living conditions, family life, whatever excuse they can muster... when they started talking about "he's being paid by the criminal" I'm like ok I must be jaded because they let people off softly due to working with police still today.... still I'm furious that they just let criminals go willy nilly these days (2022) we need more like this officer, and not only that, we need to let them have free rein, I bet criminals will be less likely to reoffend if they know a cop could give you the beat down God intends you to have if they want and they won't get into any trouble. Now whether he was a good cop or a bad one is on the word of a criminal? Oh ok, because criminals tell the truth and love cops and aren't biased. Sickening how they treated this poor man.... he should have a damn statue for all the wonderful things he did for Australia. God bless you sir, wherever you are.

    • @juhotasken
      @juhotasken Год назад +1

      Yeah, because cops always tell the truth too right? Not like there haven't been countless of cops, who have committed much more crimes than actual criminals. Like the most notorious serial killer Gary Ridgway, who was convicted of 49 kills and is suspected of doing as much as 90+ and didn't get caught because he knew how to evade the law and did it for almost 20 years. Or the head of the Finnish version of FBI who got medals for being the investigator of the year etc, but was convicted of selling information on criminals, letting murders happen, taking bribes, orchestrating a smuggling of 791 kilos of hashish to Finland, and countless of other things. I could give you thousands of examples why people like this should NEVER EVER let to be officers. You do realize that cops and crooks think alike, they are only the other side of the coin and it is scientifically proven fact. Both try to twist the law for their own advantage, and the more we give freedom to cops to do whatever they want it will turn in to them being even worse criminals because they know how to not get caught. That's why every single officer should have bodycamera's on, and they should count the money and drugs etc on camera. Because it happens way too often that literally whole departments of police, take cash from criminals to themselves and often even drugs. There's even been cases where whole department of cops started killing and robbing drug smugglers, and selling the drugs to the criminals and then busting those same criminals under links for the drugs they sold. People like this should be put permanently in to a mental institution, instead of letting them be in police force. This guy is literally a serial killer, and people applaud him? For the same reason that people want this type of officers, the criminals themselves get equally worse and violent, which then creates longer and longer sentences and harsher and harsher prisons, which create even worse criminals once they get out. We need to break the cycle.

    Mr. Murphy appears to think he's above the law and "justified" in all of his actions. What hubris and one of the reasons he should never been allowed to be a policeman 👮‍♂️ in the first place, as the 1st job of an officer is to "Protect and Serve". Maybe Australia doesn't have "innocent until proven guilty" in their laws.

    This was a different time and most cops simply played follow the leader and Murphy was no hero, just look how Rogerson turned out. Sure tough measures were required back then no doubt about that, although you had to know your limitations. That all said these days the courts are way to lenient with serious and repeat offenders, thus making a cops job difficult at best. Not defending the cops nor the criminals just the system.
