Excellent video! I especially liked the views of the new thermostat... lots of times people don't install the new gasket properly... you show the right way to do it. Great explanation of what causes the thermostat to fail. Only tip I would add would be that before installing the new 'stat and gasket, that's a good time to grab a rag and clean off all the mating surfaces in the thermostat housing. Again, excellent video... thanks for sharing!
Thanks for the video. I didn't have to remove the battery air filter, but it made it a little harder to reach the bottom bolt. Took me about 30-45 minutes. Pretty easy job. Unfortunately it didn't fix my problem lol
saludos cordiales amigo . una pregunta , alguna vez has destapado la caja de automatica o la de cambio para reemplazar el filtro ? yo tengo una outlander igual a la tuya y queria saber para yo mismo hacerlo. best regards friend. a question, have you ever uncovered the automatic exchange or to replace the filter? I have an outlander equal to yours and wanted to know for myself do
Coolant draining isn't needed. Unless you want to change it. Change thermostat and pop radiator cap to let warm out. Excess air will escape no problem. Top off and good to rock. Otherwise nice vid
when you drain out the coolant from the radiator when the engine's cold, about how many percent of the coolant is still left in the engine block and how do you get it out?
life long anti-freeze coolant? I thought u have to drain and put in coolant in the system around every 100,000 mile? Also how can u tell if the coolant needs to be change or not by looking at it?
7150285 The @how-to/content/how-to-test-the-quality-of-your-engine-coolantanti.html#glossary-coolant;_antifreeze in your vehicle should be changed if you haven’t changed it in a year or in the past 20,000 miles; if your vehicle constantly loses liquid in the system and overheats easily; or if you've frequently added plain water to your cooling system to the point where it’s probably lowered the proportion of coolant to less than half the required 50/50 mixture. Even if none of the above is true, your coolant may still need a change.
@@dacabrera84 The level of the coolant in the reserve tank should be between the FULL and LOW marks. The radiator usually stays full so there is no reason to remove the radiator cap except when you check the coolant freeze point or replace the antifreeze coolant. Please read 2010 Mitsubishi Outlander Owner's Manual page 7-11 and 9-11 for more information. Thanks
