@@patrickmurphy173 you're very welcome, Patrick! Do you happen to have any of his pipes? Might make a great display item in a shadow box with other momentos
You can clean the Antler pipes the same way. And clean them often. I have used Vodka or Everclear on mine. Brandy sounds good. Glad you made this video Aaron. I'm going to rethink how I make your pipe. The design I had in mind would be hard to clean. If I can find my Tap & Die set maybe I can thread the stem and mouth piece. I have thread elk antler before for some Salt & Pepper shakers. Gonna be a fun project I have never tried before. Had fun watchin brother. Thanks! Many blessings.
I'm glad this helped inspire you! I am really excited to see what you come up with. I'm sure it's going to be great no matter what route you choose. Thanks Kevin!
I am always up for learning new things! Your video was very interesting! I always find cleaning very gratifying! I think I am a little OCD 😅 I did not know alcohol was used in the cleaning process! Very cool.
@@normaferro8054 yeah, there are all kinds of things people use to clean various parts of the pipe; brandy, rum, vodka, salt, olive oil, etc etc Kind of a neat aspect of the hobby
Thanks David! Yeah, I actually picked up pipe smoking in about 2009. Smoked periodically for a couple years then stopped for some reason. Don't know why because I loved it. Then I picked it back up again in the last two years. I think it's here to stay. For now anyway. Best thing about pipes and cigars is I can't even make myself addicted to it if I tried. Nothing like cigs. I have no cravings whatsoever, I don't get anxious for it and often times I get too lazy to smoke even when it sounds like a fun idea, lol. I just use it as a reward from finishing up the work week from time to time. Nothing more relaxing.
This took me back to my childhood and watching my grandfather clean his pipe. The scent of pipe smoke can still bring a tear to my eye ❤
And there's hardly a better smell in the whole world as pipe smoke. It's as warm and welcoming a smell as fresh baked cookies.
My grandfather smoked a pipe, and after he died, every time I smell a tobacco pipe it reminds me of him. Thank you for making this!

@@meandmyshadow6269 You bet Aaron.
My uncle smoked a pipe in his den and to this day I still remember the smell of his pipe smoke and leather. Really enjoyed this vid. :-)
@@mirkatu3249 Leather and pipe smoke go together like peanut butter and jelly. Funny how smell can be tied so closely to a memory and vice versa
It's always good to learn something different 🎉
Definitely!
Yeah, that's how I clean mine! I don't do it near enough, but it's how I do it when I do it! 😂😂😂😂
Oh cool! Well, maybe I'm on the right track then! I used to clean my pipes once per week but now it's more like once per 2 months, lol.
