Thanks for posting. What a gem - great sense of the piano. To think he had a full time military career and still had the time, motivation, talent and skill to compose works like this!
I have found that if a work makes it to RUclips, somebody thought it was good enough to record, and someone thought enough of it to upload it. I very seldom don't like it myself. So I confirm I like this work. It has gotten impossible for me to keep up with all the new pieces I am seeing. I simply mark them so I can revisit them.
Thanks for posting it. Great concerto and great performance, really. I actually don't understand why this wonderful symphonic piece is not yet known and performed as well. But thanks a lot
The overwhelming majority of composers weren't writing dodecaphonic music in in 1931, or after. Still, that in no way argues for the exhumation of of this DOA concerto and its ilk.
I think it's nice that more obscure composers are being performed, if only to just provide an historical record. Also (while this composer doesn't apply) if this didn't occur (regardless of 'quality') we'd be left with 3 centuries of only dead beaugouis white men to listen to

Yes....a swarthy virile concerto that doesn't relent for a minute....Bravo desde Mexico!
Bravo! Delightful concerto! This one should be mainstream, no hidden from sight. Magnificent!

It's been over a year since I have listened to this. So beautiful.

Thank you for your sharing ! His music is so beautiful!
love the brass at the beginning
the finale was very good indeed
OH GOD LOVELY
Nice! It's good to see that some composers weren't following that path of serialism during this time.

You're welcome. :)
Thank-you for sharing. For the sake of correctness I think you mean the Legend for Cello and orchestra.
The video description was funny imo. It's a well written piece, but the critic was right lol

yes YES! "Yoix! Off to the Hunt!" Hounds, foxes and fanfares....What do you make of it all?

The kind of piece you listen to once out of curiosity( what or who is Jean Cras?), but never bother to listen to again....
No, please, don't say that... the guilt is coming back to me... ; _ ;
But I'm not talking about this piece, I'm talking about something else...
You mean "you" - not me :) I love this and all of his works.
I agree. I can hear why he is not so celebrated in this piece.
That's what I thought the first time I listened to it. Then on second hearing I quite liked it.
I respect the work...but I don’t find this very pleasant to listen to. I’ll just say it’s not my cup of tea.
