    Nice restoration! I like your PID box setup and extra fan in the controler!
    I'm rebuilding a 2016 Linea 2AV right now.

      Thanks. Was very happy with the result. Machine is very well built so that really helps. Also all parts are still readily available if needed.

    Beautiful work @dracwong looking to do a similar restoration, any specifics on citric solution or materials for polishing?

    • @dracwong
      @dracwong  Год назад

      The citric acid bath is around 50% concentration heated to 75deg C to speed the process along. Its a weak acid so even at this concentration its very safe to use. You just need to be really careful with the shiny plated surfaces but I was not fussed. Cleaned out all sections with soft metal brush and pipe cleaner as well. All the brass/copper boiler parts polished with soft wire brush wheel on bench grinder unit. The stainless panels were polished with metal polishing paste on cloth polishing wheels but this was a lot of work. I would outsource the stainless metal polishing next time.

    Did something similar.. It cost me the same as the used machine, and 2 months. I wonder what this cost you ?

    • @dracwong
      @dracwong  5 месяцев назад

      Most of the cost was in time. All parts were reasonably cheap and readily available. I did get some temp probes made up by a local instrument engineer which was the biggest cost.

      @@dracwong I had to replace 5 tubes. A big local cooling company was the only one I could find that could silverbraze copper. And, they did not charge me!! After 10 leaks and other issues under first upstart, I have a 6L HX boiler espresso machine! And I have the knowledge to fully maintain it! But, it was not a first lv restauration like you did.
