Outstanding job on the overview of the 22RS Bob! Chris made no mistake adding you to the team. Your exactly what WR needed👍🏻👍🏻
Thank you Todd!
Todd, I will definitely agree with you on this one..😉👍
Another great demo video! I’ve owned the 17RS with auto cycle as my primary splitter for about 6 months and I am extremely happy with it! I’ve used it with and without the 4 way wedge as you demonstrated. Really like splitting up the more difficult rounds with the single way wedge. Thanks for sharing info on the brass slides, I will have to get a set of brass slides once I use the ones provided with the splitter. Nice work!
Nice overview! Solid machine that won't break the bank.
Thank you!
Great job on the video, I think you should be storing that splitter at my place, I will return it this summer
I love this splitter . I am saving up !!!
Great demo Bob. Getting yourself familiar with the product line.
Thank you! I’m enjoying it too!
If I wasn't splitting to sell, I'd buy one of these over my 28C. Would be tough to give up auto-cycle for the log lift. Love both of those features!
hi there as all of your shows it was done very well . don't need log lift ,don't need 4 way ,don't need auto cycle, need faster , needs a table . best to all . john
Thanks John!
Great demo Bob! First time I seen how the wedge adjustment works. Sure is a fast machine, I like it!!👍💪👍
Thank you!
Yes please show a video on all the box wedge sizes .
That is in the plans! 👍 Might be a month or so on that one yet.
Nice demo on the overall features of that machine. The wedge adjustment feature is a great idea. Appears simplistic but also functional. Takes away the hydraulic adjusting but, allows for use of that hydraulic feed on either the log lift or the auto cycle. And you still get some adjustment on the 4 way. Nice machine!
Thank you!
Good job, Bob. Yo are definitely doing a great job with these demonstrations. 😉👍
Thank you sir!
Excited to pick mine up soon!
It’s a great machine, you’ll love it!
Much rather have Log lift than auto-cycle. Bob, you're a great addition to Wolf Ridge Mfg. What's Ohio Joe going to do without you????!!!! Lol Have a great day
Thank you! We still talk, I’ll be down at his open house actually with Wolfe Ridge stuff this time, should be in May. 😎
Great little machine mine should be done in 6 7 weeks.
Sweet machine at a good price point!
Nice video Bob!
Thank you! I’m hoping to see a 17RS coming through soon and I’ll get a video done on that. 😎
To anyone that thinks the frame isn't strong, is the same frame on my 28C. And I've had the fixed wedge/beam bending without breaking when splitting ash with the 12-way wedge.
Great demo !! I have owned the RS w/ Auto Cycle valve for about a month and 10 cords now . This spitter has the best combination of power and speed . In 10 cords of wood I have not had any need to remove the 4 way wedge . The speed of this spitter lies in the power to run the 4 way with a 6 second cycle time . I feel the 6 second RS 22 with a 4 way is quicker and safer than the 4 second Ultra 2 way wedge , the 4 second Ultra couldn't handle a 4 way in all situations like the 22 RS, my opiion . The 22 RS eats anything and it eats fast . A 13hp engine with a 4 inch cylinder is a pretty sweet combo .
Hydraulic wedge lift is neat but I like the simplicity of the RS . Nothing gets stuck under the wedge . In my opinion a fixed wedge is faster for me because it's one less function to mess with . Auto_cycle is great for me because I am a 1 person operation . It is nice to grab another round while the RS is doing it's thing . The RS models with ACV have a nice log staging shelf . I personally don't need a log lift because I stage logs on a bucking table . This RS 22 ACV is perfect for how I work. I could have purchased the 28 Compact Commercial but it has features that I don't need / want etc. I feel that calling the RS 22 a re-splitter is not accurate . The 22 RS ACV is my primary splitter and it is a fast , powerful beast . There is nothing entry level about it. The frame is the same as the 28 Pro and 28 Compact Commercial units . This thing is beefy . I am so happy to own this splitter , I know that this macine is perfect for my operation . Good day !
Thanks Glenn!
@@WolfeRidgeSplitters You're welcome !
Really good job of the demo of this machine. Thanks for putting this out Bob. Yeah how are the 17vs-c coming. Are there any going out yet?
The first 8 - 17VS-C splitters are being welded and powder coated this week. Will start rolling out next week after Honda certifies. Thanks!
Nice little unit for what it is .
Thank you!
Good video
Thank you!
I hope that wrench has wolfridge engraved or stamped in it Bob?? Great looking machine! Australian market would love this!
The wrench is very basic, but I like the way you think. 😉
Very nice demo of a very nice splitter. When is the raffle drawing to win one! 🤐🤐🤐
Thank you Arne!
Can you replace the nut and bolt with a quick pin or does it need to tighten down on the wedge?
Another great video!
It doesn't need to tighten so to speak, but there's protection built into the wedge to keep the bolt and nut from getting hit with wood exiting the wedge. The concern would be if a pin was used instead of the bolt, the pin could get hit by the wood and removed. But, maybe a bolt with no threads and just a pin hole could be used? I'm told that most people with the RS machines or skid steer splitters just find the optimal height for their operation and they leave the wedge in that place.
@@BacktoBob1 thanks for the explanation!!
Good video Bob, I would love to see the orange
17 VS-C video. 😁
Thank you! Soon I’ll have a VS-C to get footage with. Not sure on color but I’ll do my best 😉
How soon on the vs-c
@@chrisfisherwild For the video? Hopefully in the next 2 weeks I’ll have my hands on that one.
Do the video on the camo green one going to Hartville Hartville hardware it’s mine.
@@chrisfisherwild Awesome, I’ll do that! 👍
Would love to see this compared to a county line 40 ton. It appears your 22 ton handles large rounds also and have heard the "box store" splitters aren't always rated properly? That would be my only hesitation as I've had to weld on mine and replace the valve 3 times, I'd love something built better like these appear to be. Thanks.
This would be a fun comparison. I think in some cases yes, some of the box store machines have a tonnage rating slapped on there and it isn’t quite accurate. Maybe they use a 40 ton cylinder for example, but the engine and pump supplying that cylinder don’t give the optimal flow or pressure to actually utilize all 40 tons of said cylinder.
At it again bob yeah it’s very cold here in ohio also seems to be a nice splitter think I would have to stay with the log lift. Would really love to to have the 35sho so can also do mobile splitting when customers ask have before with my county line but it not to be pulled also just can’t break the bank going end up finance it checked hartville but nothing on there site ??
Thank you! I know that Hartville has a couple different finance options but I don’t know what they are. Best to call there and ask for Jerry, Kody, or John in outdoor power equipment.
Very nice splitter whats the price for one with log lift i enjoy the video's and mike Morgan's video's running his wolf ridge
We have all prices on our website www.wolferidgemfg.com Thanks!
What about swapping the levers? Seems like it would be easier to have the splitting lever on the normal splitting side and lift lever on the lift side.
Unfortunately the valves need to have the splitter on spool 1 to allow the most flow and for detent operation.
Question - can one order the RS-22 with the 3.5” cylinder so you can take advantage of the speed with the bigger 13 HP Honda and 22gpm pump? Wondering how much faster it would be with that config if you just need it to re-split quickly.
The 17 RS and 22 RS are not customizable aside from color, and picking auto cycle or loglift.
I see your point though, it would be faster but then would maybe need a cooler as well to combat heat. The cycle time is so fast already you really need two people to keep this fed.
-7 is cold 17VS was even cold this morning in jersey I think it was 8 when started it today
I cheated, it was in the building for a few hours in the morning before taking it out to the wood yard. 😃
How did that engine on the VS behave on cold start?
@@BacktoBob1 it did good it took one extra key crank and ran great all day.
@@lillysfarmfirewood Awesome to hear 👍
WHERE IS THE CLOSEST TO EL PASO YOU DELIVER??? STAY COOL. PEACE FROM CREEL CHIHUAHUA,MEXICO...
There is probably a freight terminal there we could ship to, you could do terminal pickup then.
Yep, truck terminal would be the way to go.
I'd love to see a comparison of the rs machine and 28 pro. As a one man operation, i can't figure out which one would be better
It’s not a comparison video, but, tomorrow the 28 Pro video overview goes live. Thanks for watching!
@@BacktoBob1 can't wait to watch it!
Nice splitter for the price
Bring back the 22 pro c
Needs hydraulic wedge
