    I am a computer science student studying AI, and I have a deep love, admiration, and fascination for films and Bollywood. I couldn't believe that I had never thought about AI in the film industry. I accidentally came across a video titled "AI in the Film Industry," and I was shocked and intrigued by the concept. This idea has now completely captivated me. It seems like a curious and interesting field, and I believe I may have accidentally found a passion that I would love to pursue. This could be a blessing in disguise, as we all know AI is the future. My main concern is ensuring its positive and healthy use. This field really needs genuine, good, and positive changemakers and contributors, as AI could also be used for harmful purposes. Indeed, the video sparked a very important discussion. 🙏

    Any technology is just an enabler or a tool to do work easily. Film making is a tech intensive task. Without technology it would not be possible to produce movies like Avatar or Baahubali or an RRR. We should embrace technology to make our lives easier and any technology cannot replace humans but those humans who have not embraced it.

      The way it is currently being used in India seems to be okay thus far. However, one cannot ignore the fact that studios and producers are greedy and will want to save money wherever they can. So if they can use AI to recreate digital personas of actors, smaller actors will be out of work even though their likeness is being used in a film. It can lead to complete monopolization of filmmaking and that is unacceptable.

    I am doing a course on generative AI where LLM with trillion parameters are used to generate new data, and I was thrilled to see this presentation. I do feel AI won't be able to gain a major foothold in film industry other than making those VFX and jaw dropping moments. When it comes to acting, creativity, and emotions, AI would never be able to displace these areas.

      Yes, large language models today might not be able to, but don't forget how younge these generative models such as GPT 4 are. Already, these models have proven to be a very powerful tool for script writing becuase all human emotions can in theory be represented by a mathematical model. I am of the opinion that in the near future these machine learning models could be much better than humans in the creative feilds as well. Especially when it comes to bollywood where most of the screen writing is very superficial and the most successful actors are average at best (don't get me wrong, I love bollywood).

    • @MrJaideepgambhir
      @MrJaideepgambhir 4 месяца назад

      @TheLeadDeveloper704 but the whole generative model is based on pre-trained data and if you take into account millions of movie scripts the end result would be a script which is having some correlation with previous ones. I am also in for bringing AI to bringing things to life but one can't replace human thinking and creativity. Without the critical thinking and blend of creativity and innovation the movie making would not be the same. AI can be a facilitator but not an enabler in my view.

    The opinions of those whose occupations may be impacted by AI have not been presented by BBC India; only those of the filmmakers have. such as cosmetic artists, musicians, extras, and others. Since the goal of filmmaking is to cut costs, why should they be concerned about artificial intelligence?
    Even before the AI strikes in India began, it appears that Indian filmmakers would pay BBC India to report in such a manner. They turned to the BBC in order to protect themselves.

    The film industry is basically dead now and lawyers will become more important than scriptwriters. It's a very derivative industry with nearly zero original ideas (media used to call them DVD directors in past because they just copied Hollywood verbatim). Shekhar Kapur is probably the worst person to ask about this. He hasn't made or contributed in a single commercial bollywood hit (or even flop) film in the last 25 years. It's like asking Tarla Dalal how to make the best British Kedgiree.

    Ai will become more advanced than what you see now on midjourney, runway, pika, moonvalley and others... it wont replace the hard work that we need to make a feature film, but as always we need to add our touch to what AI generates. One cant just blindly follow it. That is where we are now, but in near future, even that will be cut down, where one can trust these ai models, remember these models are generative ai and not the advance ai like we are talking about AGI and others. We are little far away from it, but the time to take, make images, characters, environments has gone down coz of these ai tools. You can make storyboard, shot lists before you start shooting movies. One who doesnt have expertise in photoshop, now can create and make images using AI.

By the way it's useful for those who could use it wisely in thier proven most productive, effective and alternative ways and places provided that possible "hazardous and reversed outcomes" are avoided in much prior of they could arrive. 🙂

That’s my point, these actors or writers already sold their ‘likeness’ or ‘image’ or ‘style’ in many of the numerous projects they did. Now AI should be free to use that by just buying rights to that one film. This is what happens in all other industries as you said.

    Fact is that late actor SushantvSingh Rajput was a genius and was at wrong place and he was doing a lot of research and projects in AI. But these fake Bollywood actors are not even properly educated and are talking about AI and technology all because of the black money they have to invest in projects. Sushant Singh Rajput was a topper and held an Engeneering degree. These Bollywood goons or rather mafias are nowhere in front of him. Sushant's mysterious death is still under investigation and all the technological projects he was working on are stolen. Where are they?? And now suddenly the entire Bollywood talking about technology when they don't even have basic education and values. All in India now know how heavily these people are involved in drugs and promote drug consumption. No this time common Indian people will not let thm get thm away. Trafficking is another angle.

    Haha i understand what's their major concern, they are big rich studios who are making money from many brands by selling them expensive VFXs. Ai is also a kind of automation VFX which is easy and fast, but if normal people start using AI and effects from a laptop then who will come to them for costly effects ? Before matt painting in your VFX software , really painter use to get paid for it, dotn you guys ate their rozi roti ?? Real VFX and make up artist used to get salary which u guys replace with roto tracking in VFX . Bottom line darling it's not about normal people , it's about big fat people business which gonna effect, when normal people start doing same job in their laptop from their homes. Cheers to Ai !!!
