thanks for the video! a question for clarification: if you're using the Tbox Plus and do navigation with Wireless Android Auto from your phone (not running the navigation app on the Tbox), does that cancel the Kia navigation?
Hi, no it does not cancel navigation when you are using the Tbox Plus whether you use full Android apps from the Tbox or wireless Android Auto/Apple CarPlay. The Tbox does not pass through data to let the car know another navigation session is active.
Nice review. Ideally what I would like to do is plan my route in ABRP then output the route to Google Maps and use that for my verbal directions. Will the verbal directions still come from Google maps if you are using the Kia native navigation for preconditioning?
Hi, thanks for watching! Yes any verbal directions from Google Maps or other apps will still come through. Just be sure to mute the in-car nav or it'll keep interrupting.
@@ArtiePenguin1 thx for the feedback. Maybe you can explain this a bit to me. I'm coming from a 2011 Ford Edge with no android auto or apple carplay so I've never used it. I tried the wired android auto on my EV6 that I've had 6 weeks and like the fact that I can just use my screen for some items and not the phone but haven't played with it much as I hate having to connect the cable; it's just a pain in the a$$. So I do want to got wireless. As I said above, I also need to have the native navigation running for preconditioning but would also like to use ABRP (maybe even the premium version with OBD dongle) and google maps. Can this be done with just say Carlinkit 5.0 or do I need to go to the tbox to do all this? Currently, my phone is connected via bluetooth to the car so I can receive and make calls. Secondly, Android Auto to my understanding just connects some of your phone apps to the car. Would you even need to use Android Auto if you had the T-box? Just a bit confused on how all these things are used / intertwine with each other.
@@edmiddleton8138 Hi, you can use just the Carlinkit wireless adapter but then you likely won't be able to do parallel navigation sessions with both the in-car nav and Android (Auto) apps. From my research on the Kia EV Forums, the Tbox is the only surefire way to get parallel navigation. Second, if you have the Tbox, no, you don't need to connect your phone or Android Auto to it. The Tbox has its own full Android system and can run full Android apps. If you need just Bluetooth phone calls/audio, you can pair your phone to the Tbox. I'll try to do a video soon explaining this. Hope this helps and let me know if you have any more questions.
@@ArtiePenguin1 So, the only need for the phone link and the tbox would be to be able to use the data plan of your phone if you don't add a separate sim card to tbox, right? Data plan would allow for real time data for nav, ability to download apps and movies, etc to tbox. I assume you also could use home wifi with tbox to do the same?
@@edmiddleton8138 Yes, but another reason to connect your phone to the Tbox is to be able to send/receive calls over Bluetooth using your phone's number. Otherwise, it's very simple to just connect the Tbox to any Wifi hotspot - including your phone's, the car's, or a standalone hotspot device. I'd only buy an additional data SIM for the Tbox if you think turning on the hotspot device is too inconvenient.
Hi, depending on battery and outside temperatures, it'll take about 30-45 minutes to heat up the battery to around 20°C minimum. I believe the car will only start heating it up about a maximum of 45 minutes away from the charger.

How much time is needed while in preconditioning mode in order for the battery to reach its ideal charging temperature?
