this entire album feels like if killswitch engage formed recently and made an album in today's metalcore scene. genuinely fucking PHENOMENAL, especially that insane breakdown, good lord. hoping to god ithaca reach killswitch big soon, especially with a project this good.
Absolutely incredible song, and the art direction of the video is so, so strong. Clean vocals sound amazing as well - so stoked; cannot wait for the album.

Also the guitar solo his movements are at a different speed then this playing??? I have no idea how they shot that.. but holy shit it’s cool
Yeah that’s pretty much spot on. Djamila was singing 3x normal speed for the chorus and we shot it at 75fps. So then playing it back at 25fps she’s normal speed and the band are 1/3 speed. She nailed it. The steadicam move and focus pull took a few takes, but we got there. The guitar solo is indeed essentially the opposite technique. Stoked that people like yourselves are enjoying the video and noticing the shots we went all-out on to try to make look as awesome as possible. 🙏

Was she singing to a 3x version, or was the band playing to the normal version.. or did they have both going at the same time to in-ears or something. Or is it two takes comped? It seriously blows my mind how you pulled this off. I love the music but this video made me stop and say.. “holy shit.. who was the film crew on this” the energy and emotion that those varying speed shots and focus pulls create is astounding!

Same for the bleeding crown and gravity shift for the spitting blood shot. We made a call to lean into practical effects rather than digital, to maintain a subtle 70s feel to run with the aesthetic of the album art.

On set she was singing (2x?) faster than the the rest, guitar solo was played much slower #spoileralert ;)
