Love the way you articulated your commitment to executing the kitbash for your own edification and not going for a perfect paint job. As someone who is very much a beginning painter, that’s something I have been struggling with a little!
I've found people go one of two ways in this hobby. You either get really really good at painting models other people make or you get into kitbashing. Welcome to the kitbashing side of our hobby. We like to use root veggies as objective markers and don't like to give games workshop much of anything if we can help it.
Beautiful! I’d never imagine using a metal tea box to make my warlord, but you pulled it off! And welcome to the root community, hope you enjoy! And remember to praise the root.
This is good as fuck! Perfectly captures the turnip look! The giant scroll on the front! The creepy tree with drippy candles!! That ribbon freehand on the shield!!! Perfection
phew - almost thought to be close to jail. I got a legion of unpainted grey minis --- but I'd never play them. painted or not. Amazing video and music! I'd love to see more. Thanks for sharing. Theres not enough turnips on YT.
Nice general. When I get special tea tins or boxes, I tend to collect them as-is. Stick 'em on a shelf, so I can look at them some more. I don't think I'd want to cover over them with paint. (Disposable paper packaging is fair game, of course. I cut them up into sections of scrap card stock, and even build a whole terrain building around two whole boxes glued together.)
This is genius. But I have to say I would have kept the logo. It would beg the question? Where did the Toff find the giant tea storage bin? How did it survice the centuries? What happened to the tea? LOL

I know nothing about Turnip 28 (first I've heard of it actually) - ... but as someone who loves converting minis (albeit isn't very good at it yet) - this is great. I'm loving the general art direction I'm seeing from the couple pics of the material you've shown too, I'll have to look this up!

@@Michael-og7js I will explain. I am calling out the hypocrisy of calling a community "sus", but he still enjoys taking the tips and tricks he learned from them and use them all the same.
He specifically said "Some of those guys can be sus." And it's no lie that of the problematic "history" buffs out there those that ONLY focus on ww2 are most likely to own tank models from some certain red-colour-adjacent European powers and align with them politically. Like there's a reason the terms 'Tankie' and 'Wehraboo' exist. It's not even a secret online. They're everywhere from Warhammer (30k, 40k, Titanicus), Star Wars Legions, hell even Napoleonic wars and steampunk versions, they find ways to be there not even just historical models.
"Wehraboos" is a term used to refer to a group of hobbyists who ONLY play or show interest in the nazi's. However this spills over into the Warhammer 40k community as well
Beautiful stuff! Love the mild creepyness of the video while still being super informative with some fun techniques and a beautiful end result

Im a simple nerd I hear I went to a museum to get ideas about my minitures from a painting and i sub.
Love this build! The Turnip setting has always been really interesting to me but was never sure how to jump in
I love the aesthetic of T28, and you're doing good work capturing it!

Never heard of this system before, but that model looks fantastic! Well done!
Nice video. Hope we'll get to see your whole turnip28 journey!
Great kitbash! You've got a very unique way of filming, building and painting

Wonderful video, grate result. I like your zen-style-attitude to the Hobby 👍
Great video! The more turnip28 the better. One tip: maybe lower the music volume. At times it's hard hearing what you say because of it.
You're right ! I mixed the music a little better in the new video. Still fairly new to sound mixing in general so it's a learning experience.
Really cool build, and i love how much you put into the editing. My wife and i are REALLY excited to watch your channel grow!
One of the best turnip videos on RUclips! Wonderful first video!
The cotton is a great tip that I'm stealing for my next build!
Such a cool idea, and I enjoyed the video too, keep 'em coming!
Awesome, great result and very creative! I hope this video goes viral on RUclips!

8:10 I really appreciate you jailing those people at the end. Good to see justice.
But really the art is the purpose creating is the fun :)
Really enjoyed this video and great work on the mini so good!
quite the KNÖRG you got there
Great job and video (liked the music choice too)! Maybe soon we’ll see a unit of Turnip dachshunds to go along your Hockney tea tin? 🐾
Just a delightfully silly model, absolute perfection
absolutely fabulous job

Fantastic!
I love the work. Could you change the balance of your music and your voice? The music was very loud compared to your voice most of the time.
Brilliant!
It’s very cool👍
nice idea
cool t28 thing.
What is the song around 6:23?
It's a track I made for the video, not a real song really, just a quick background thing

reminds me of quar.... by zombie smith miniatures
I love you too.
