  • On September 30th, 2023, I returned to the North Carolina Transportation Museum in Spencer, North Carolina for the first time since April this year to attend their annual Day Out With Thomas event, featuring Thomas on the museum's regular passenger train and Percy on the caboose train. This was my first time visiting the NCTM for a DOWT event since 2014, which was when Percy was first introduced. Both "engines" were assisted by Southern GP30 2601 and Norfolk & Western GP9 620 respectively. In addition to railfanning the 2 trains, I also rode Thomas' train as well. I'm personally not a fan of the paint splatters on Thomas and Percy, but hey, at least I had some fun. Almost all of the kids I saw were pretty well behaved too, which graciously saved my sanity. Still I don't think I'll ever get used to all of the AEG branding and/or music at these events nowadays.
UPDATE 8/10/2024: This video is now the most popular video on the channel. Thanks for all the views everyone!
Subscribe to all of my friends and people that I saw and met while I was there:

    Train Table Railroad
Special thanks to all of the good volunteers and staff of the NCTM.
EDIT 2024: The restoration of Graham County Shay 1925 has since been canceled. Please do not donate to the museum for that project. If you do, your money will simply go towards an entirely different project, which is illegal, but the museum gets away with it anyway.
