  • Tredegar House is a 17th. century mansion located south west of Newport in Monmouthshire. For more than 500 hundred years it was the home of the Morgan family, later the Lords Tredegar. The house stands in a 90 acre estate with landscaped gardens and a lake. The earliest parts of the house date back to the late 15th. century. The original house was built of stone but William Morgan rebuilt the house with red brick. The architects are thought to be Roger and William Hurlbutt. The house became a grade 1 listed building in 1952.
