Yo Dandy Crew! Happy Friday to you amazing and beautiful people :) I am pretty sure Red embargoed me in the trade box below (and didn't realize it) which denied me of some really juicy trades throughout the game... Did I miss something or is red just losing his mind?! I am glad you are here and enjoy the gameplay! - DandyDrew
You didn't have him embargoed but my gosh, you did such a terrible terrible job communicating. Just read the chat and acknowledge red with a proper answer. He asked you 10+ times and instead of a "yes i can see you have a tick" you either didn't respond, answered "i'm a noob" or with nothing responses like "man." Yeah the 6's hurt you but you lost this game because you were honestly too busy talking and not reading chat. I love your channel and positivity and videos, keep it up.
Red had you blocked in their trade bar (you can choose who to offer trades to). You did not have an embargo on them. The fact they were so insistent and thought you were a moron when it was them all along is classic. It's why they could accept your trades (embargo blocks both ways, but the trade bar only limits sending offers)
@@michael-solomon when you click on a resource to start a trade offer, or click the trade icon on the lower portion of the screen, the bar that pops up to select what resources you want to trade for is what I’m calling the trade bar. On the right hand side of this you can individually choose to exclude different players from your trade offer.
@@alexandernater6284 I have ONLY seen you come to this channel and tell us about how horrible this is or how bad that is. I would recommend finding a new channel where you don’t have to suffer my friend - DandyDrew
@@alexandernater6284 I mean it seemed like they were genuinely confused about what was going on, but also more engaged in what was going on with the game and narrating than dealing with reds self imposed drama.
I love it when you point out subtle moves or when you give us bits of advice. “When you’re dealing with problems with wheat, you generally wanna try to compensate that by hitting a good port” Another thing I notice you doing very well is identifying two hexes that are same resource/same number and then making sure you control one of those, setting up for good block situations.
Almost every day before heading to sleep I watch one of these because I have no idea what the game is about, and I'm not really learning because I'm too tired, but it's very soothing and I do recomend.
Those 6s would have me triggered out of my mind. Dunno how the game was so close with these rolls. The wood mono at the end costed you an amazing victory. GG
At the end (29:45) u could have offered 2 sheep for wood and brick to orange so he could port it for ore, and then you port the wheat for sheep and u had the game :)
Games like this one are why I take long breaks from playing catan... sometimes the game just decides someone is going to win and you can't do anything to stop it. It's really only partially competitive in my mind for that reason, there aren't enough other variables involved to compliment the rng as much as in say poker.
I think if orange had prioritized the 3:1 port they would have been unbeatable (unless red could actually max out their road first somehow). You had so many tough decisions in this one, I totally see your logic in holding in the last turn there but I think I would have pulled with orange having winning rolls even if they were unlikely. You'd have to survive orange AND black with three rolls to be able to city or pop. I would have popped but I respect the choice to try to survive another orbit because pulling a knight there would be so depressing.
That dice is beyond broken.3 rolls once and it was for the win.2 rolled almost the same as 8.I thought I have faced a lot of bad dices but this is monumental.
lmao he had you embargoed, not the other way around - you can even see in the chat on his trade offers it says it offered the trade to the other two players but not to you, whereas your trades offer to all 3
Hi! I have a question - do you livestream you playing these games then upload them later, or do you just prerecord them? If you live-stream I’d love to pop in sometime :D
Hey Kyle her, yeah the settle attempt on the 8 brick was just brain skip. Funny though to end up in a Drew game and not he's not even close to the most chatty. Also nothing is wrong with your trading here, I played that guy again and he did the same thing to somebody. Beats me what that's all about.
Hey Kyle, nice playing with you! It was a close one for everyone (except red). Best of luck to you this season and hopefully we will run into each other again! - DD
I'm pulling at the end. I think there's about 12 devs left and 2 VPs, so about 1 in 6 to win with a pull. You can still win a lot of the time if it comes back around to you even after buying a dev since it's likely a knight and you can pluck from whoever is likely to give you what you need.
This is fair. I believe if I survive the final rolls, I am in a good position to settle for the win. If I pull and miss, I pretty much gave up my entire hand and need perfect rolls to close it out.
I don't think it's a bug. Red likely had accidentally X'd out Dandyman on his trade. When offering trades you can choose to exclude players, however it is a permanent setting i.e. all trades will exclude that player/s until you change them back to check mark. Maybe this should be more obvious because it's easy to accidentally click it on someone and not realise
Isnt the 4/8 on the coast just better than the 4/8 desert? Surprised you didnt even consider it. Opens up the 8/10 as another settle spot for you which wouldnt be taken by black nor red. I guess if you thought red should have taken the 11/3/4 then it would block your 3:1 port... But that port turns into 5 pips instead of 3 if they didnt like in this case. I suppose it is less safe, riskier with more potential.
Well my theory is that there are 2 embargo buttons (one at the top and one at the bottom), and he might have embargoed me on the smaller which you can accidentally hit it without noticing when trying to initiate trades.
Weird ask, but could you tone down the appreciation/hope you're doing great shtick by like 25% or so? Starting to register as disingenuous to me ngl lol
I hope you understand this growth and positive response from the community was not a reality 2 months ago for me. To see the channel hit 5000+ subs in this time frame has blown my mind and expectations. I am filled with gratitude and appreciation every day to press record and share that. Love these videos! Thank you so much!
Just started watching the video and ill try to predict that 9s and 6s are gonna be nuts :)
I probably would have gone to the 9-10-5 and then the 2-4-6 for my set up. Not even hindsight but that brick production and port is just too tempting.
He couldn't have chosen 2-4-6 cuz it's next to orange's settle.

I've gotten the false embargo bug or whatever you wanna call it in one of my games. It's rare I think, but can be deadly

It's not so much the amount of 6's but the sheer lack of 8's that really killed your game, but that's how the dice role.
Red blocking the 5 instead of the 6 brick is insane to me

Embargo starts at 18:17. Theres no message in the chat so it was probably a bug imo

damn 6 got rolled more than 8 and 4 combined lol. 19 times vs 6 and 5
Shoulda pulled lol
Easy to say that after the 3 rolls lol
How were you so close to winning when the 6 rolled 19 times and your 8 only rolled 6 times...🤯
It’s the combination of efficient plays, decent 5 resource production, port flexibility, and a few clutch 7s.
Seems weird. I think the game was embargoing red, because you could obviously not say yes to any of his trades. You had him ticked tho
