Great humble man. Met him about a year before he died at Discount Tire in Dallas. Sung part of this song to me and another guy off his phone. Talked about thirty minutes to us while we were getting tires repaired. RIP
Here is a man nearing 80 who doesn’t need auto tune, over dubbing or a vocal track for support. It would be interesting to see the numbers of ‘hot new talent’ in today’s music that would be able to do this. A legendary artist who is ignored far to much by today’s ‘country’ radio.
The amazingly beautiful simplicity of the great Charley Pride ....humble beyond words and truly one of country music's finest iconic singers. He was LOVED around the world. Country music from the heart has few equals. Thanks to Stuart and Larry for the lovely music as well. This is REAL COUNTRY MUSIC.
Goodbye to one of the most humble, beautiful men with a beautiful voice, who will be singing like this with the angels. Just imagine the country greats he will be strumming with now. R.I.P. Charlie. xx
And that Ladies and Gentlemen is talent and real country music. This should be a mandatory video for a lot of the new singers to watch before they cut the crap they put out now, behind all the fancy tech stuff. If they had to sit and sing like this for a meal they would starve. Look at all the people who miss this good old country music and the music people keep putting out cookie cutter music ......Great job Mr. Pride.
He walks with God a gent like him only appears once in a lifetime perfection in his voice and perfection in his manner God broke the mould when he made him
Oh man I grew up listening to old Charlie Pride songs, for my dad was a confessed Charlie Pride fanatic. Awesome to see this great man still going strong 40 years on, he's brought so much joy to so many, transcending generations even, God Bless him x
This man puts the music in country music he is a great and talented man and will nvr be forgotten I am 13 years old and I prefer his music and others such as loretta Lynn and Conway twitty and haggard and many other great artist Charles pride is my fathers favorite singer and he loves listening to him also he is one of the best singers in the world in my eyes I live u Charles pride♥️
keep on loving country music I am 72 years of age. I was bought up on it & has much meaning about every day living & good people & true stories . I think everyone has a choice of music but there is some crap out there so keep going the way you are & you will do well in this world believe me Kendra God Bless You
Charley pride is my hero have been for many years, he's got to be in his eighties and he still cranking out hits check out the song it wasn't that funny! I've listened to dozen Charley pride songs who'da thought one of my favorite songs would come in his later years! "It wasn't that funny and patches"keep rocking Charley pride
Charlie...you have given so many of us so much pleasure with your music.I've been listening since I was a kid and first heard you back in the 70's on late night country radio....absolutely amazing voice and person.
It has been one year and twenty four days (July 17, 2016) since my special someone transitioned after a battle with cancer. Friends and family implored me to find someone new, he would want it that way. I've listened to Brian McKnight sing "6,8,12", Marvin Gaye sing "If I Should Die Tonight", Wynonna sing "My Strongest Weakness" and Anita Baker & James Ingram sing "When You Love Someone".......I could go on, the loss of a loved one inspires more songs than I can count; A very dear friend called and made me aware of this recording - Charley Pride's rendering of it caused the tears to flow by the one minute mark! Maybe I'm perverse, but there is a pleasure I have found in the pain of his loss. Marvin sang.."How many eyes have seen their dream, how many arms have felt their dream, how many hearts have felt their world stand still..." Thank you, Charley Pride, for your contribution. I wish everyone the pleasure of experiencing a love, the loss of which will cause grief and appreciation in equal measure.
