@@spada60 reading about the details can get you in trouble due to the biased companies. Hearing it from someone actually playing them with an unbiased opinion is better.
While I absolutely appreciate hearing how they sound comparatively, I find it very useful to hear them DESCRIBED (by an experienced pianist, even). Especially now with the pandemic and low stocks, I had a hard time finding a good variety to try myself, so it's useful to hear how they FEEL in the hand, how the key action feels like, how springy, soft, hard, easy to control, unpredictable, consistent, etc. Obviously that's on the subjective side, but luckily we have multiple reviewers around here...
I seems like the RH3 action of the Korg D1 is making a more responsive effect on the velocity dynamics of the sound. It exudes a certain vibe that is not perceptible in the ES 110. I have say though that I've tried the ES 110 and it's plays and sounds very fine.
@@DanielSekovski rh3 probably has five sensor but I don't know what that means kawai uses rh3 in like let's say cn and other expensive models. Korg doesn't sell that much as a brand tho.
Ive tried both actions and the Korg is definitely heavier to play than the Kawai. So much is down to personal preference but for me I am not a heavy handed player and so I prefer the Kawai.
I think the piano on Korg was better (I just like that less clear, darker tone) but the other sounds were better on Kawai. Also, Korg would probably win the "how it feels while playing" because of the RH3 but without testing I can't really tell.
I slightly prefer the Kawai acoustic pianos but the Korg digital/electric pianos have a bit more detail and bite. They both sound pretty good though and the differences are fairly minor.
I got a Kawai ES110 two months ago. I can't be more satisfied. The purpose for getting it is to learn playing piano with weighted keys instead of a traditional keyboard, which I have had for many years. I don't care much about the other instruments but yes, it's very nice to combine piano with strings.
@@ashash2935 In my opinion no. But I have not experience of other digital pianos so I cannot tell how the difference is between ES110 and other models.
Lovely video! I'm sorry Korg friends I just fell in love with Kawai keybed,my unreliable uninformed opinion about Kawia sound is... I love it so much :-)
Kawai makes the best keybeds for DP and their acoustic pianos are lovely to play. I had a Korg Kronos which has the same action as the D1 and while I love enjoyed playing it, it was sluggish and fatiguing to over long periods. There is a reason why Nord also chose to use a Kawai action in their top of the range DP
i have mix feelings about the best keybord to buy on the low price range. i am on the verge of ordering an KAWAI ES 110 , which one can you advise between ES110 and Korg D1?
I personally would go with the D1 if you don't really care about the sound, because if your just a pianist like i am then the D1 is cheaper than the ES110 and if you want more sounds, the D1 has a more sounds and a better action with the RH3 than the ES110. I use a DAW to get more sounds so i dont really look for a lot feature or a lot of sounds in a Digital Piano, i go for Digital pianos that have a good feeling keyboard action close to a real Grand Piano. So in the end they are both great Compact Digitial Pianos . Hope this helps you out.
Korg D! sounds too much like a keyboard where the kawai actually has a natural sound, tested both out at my local music store next to a few grand piano's with some external speakers the kawai does win this match if you go for the Piano voices.
I am tempted by the Korg as these two are the actual one I still cant decide which to get but I have a feeling a will go for Korg as the Keybed for me is simply the best (tried on the G1 and SV1 which also use RH3) only downthing and is quiet a shame on D1 is that does not have Split Zone. Keybed is firm and precise not too firm of course where the Kawai I have heard is a bit bouncier instead. Nice playing by the way and thanks for this exact comparison although would be nice if you could add some comments and thoughts of yours.
I bought a Roland FP30 in the end. Just has some issues when connected via USB, it creates some sort of electrical loop with the Headphone out. Not too bothered though as I have another MIDI Keyboard anyway. I was quiet convinved to get this Korg model until I found that Roland and Kawai had ivory feel keybed which actracted me a lot and so I decided for the Roland as it was a slight better keybed for my taste and quiet cheaper that the Kawai at the time even though the Kawai I think is more complete as an instrument in terms of connectivity.
@@CodexHunter-tn1jx Yes a bit though and over sometime after I bought it but also seen the same on other pianos. The shock absorbing material supporting the keys wears out the more you play it. I think happens to all sort of pianos at least on that price bracket. It's not that bad anyway. I also use an heavy duty keyboard stand which helps contain the knocking sound of the keys to the chassis itself instead of having it resonating through the floor.
Oh, sorry forgot to mention, I really like the feel of the Kawai. And sounds very good. But no clavinet, and I gotta see how badly I can butcher 'Superstition' (one of my all time pop keyboard parts) Thanks again for any feedback.
The Korg has more clear treble tones and sounds great but the mid and lower frequencies on the Kawai are beautiful, makes for a really warm rounded tone.
Can I please question? .. when I connect 2 sounds (for example piano and strings) , strings are very aloud . How I support volume of strings down? I dont know it, thanks.
I honestly can not decide between these two and Roland FP-10 or 30. I really like the sound of all 3 and it depends what sound you play past Piano's natural sound which does a better job. I want as much versatility as I can get.
