Resident Evil 4 is a 2023 survival horror game developed and published by Capcom. It is a remake of the 2005 game Resident Evil 4. Players control the US agent Leon S. Kennedy, who must save Ashley Graham, the daughter of the United States president, from the mysterious Los Iluminados cult. The remake builds upon the original game with an updated plot, new visuals, characters, cast, and improved gameplay.
Resident Evil 4 was announced in June 2022 and released on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Windows, and Xbox Series X/S on March 24, 2023. It received universal acclaim and sold four million copies in its first two weeks, making it one of the fastest-selling Resident Evil games.
Resident Evil 4 is a remake of the 2005 game Resident Evil 4. It features "over-the-shoulder" third-person shooter gameplay similar to the original, while drawing other design aspects from the remakes of Resident Evil 2 (2019) and Resident Evil 3 (2020). Resident Evil 4 features redesigned visuals, designed to create a tenser atmosphere, along with new character designs and backgrounds. It offers six control schemes, including one styled after the original game. Occasionally the player must solve puzzles in order to reach certain areas. In some sequences, Leon must protect the president's daughter, Ashley. She uses a simpler health system than in the original, and can be instructed to stay close or far.
As in the original game, the player organizes their inventory with an attaché case. New to the remake, a crafting system enables the player to create items and ammunition using resources collected. The Merchant returns, allowing the player to buy, upgrade, and trade items while providing new side quests that may be completed during the main story. Similarly to the original, the focus of combat is shooting enemies and reloading. However, Leon can now move and use weapons at the same time, allowing him to evade attacks while firing. Leon can use melee attacks to injure enemies and push them away. A new parrying mechanic allows him to block, counterattack, and kill downed enemies with his knife. Unlike the original, Leon's knife has a durability meter; if broken, the player will have to speak to the Merchant to get it repaired or increase its durability. Leon can carry multiple types of knives with various attributes.

This laser scene make so much more sense for Ada being a spy compared to Leon, glad she made a callback “that was excessive”. Which is what I thought of Leon back then with them over exaggerated flips and slow-mo🤣, I mean it’s cool and all but seriously

Love him or hate him Paul Anderson's laser corridor has changed Resident Evil forever and for the best in my opinion.
He basically just took a look at Capcom's ridiculous awesomeness and thought "y'know what? SCREW IT. Why should _they_ be the only ones to go over-the-top??"
The laser corridor escene and the Umbrella corporation theme are some of the few good things that came out of his terrible movies (but I personally consider the first 2 movies not that bad)
despite having never watched Paul WS Andersen's films (some scenes on RUclips of course), I was very happy that they remade the original scene from the film with a mix of the original game
For the remake: nice touch with the first Resident Evil movie (Anderson) for the laser room
I believe it is the first time or at least only clear instance of the game series inspired from the movies, not the other way around: The infamous green glass laser room of the movies.

I loved the music when that slow motion sequence played after Ada fired her grapple gun as the laser grid was closing.
Capcom watched the first Resident evil movie with that famous laser corridor and thought Hey that would he great in resident evil 4!

I found people including myself saying it was out of place because of where in the game it was located, same with U-3. But I have never found a single soul who wanted them cut so much as make more sense. It's the same with the throne room just randomly being there instead of castle.

The laser room does fit Ada better and I say its better in the Remake with the introduction of Martinico just to raise the stake of escaping even more in the final part.
Not too mention, Ada quick decision making in the final part where she used her grappling gun to escape is just awesome.

Did they add this to the game purely because Leon died to a laser corridor in the movie? I remember hearing something along those lines.

I honestly don’t understand why QTEs are so hated. There so many in ps exclusives and waiting to press 1 predictable button in the remake is so boring
Its similar to how in the verdugo boss fight the only quick time button is E on pc. So QTEs are technically here but you only tap one button.
@JJJamws QTEs are like beer, fine in moderation, terrible in excess.
Problem is, QTEs are/were too often used excessively, especially in the 7th generation of consoles.
There is but not as much as in the original.
I dont remember getting to play as Ada at all in the remake.

The original on gamecube beat assignment ada on the pc wii and hd versions etc beat separate ways to unlock it for Leon assignment ada unlocks it for ada in separate ways you will get a screen when unlocked that says it can be purchased from the merchant in new game plus playthroughs.

The remake did it a lot better, I'm glad they decided it to include it in separate ways rather than the main story, it makes much more sense and is also less cringy than the original
Eh, i like that the og lasers were instant death tho. Pretty much a trigger bomb setup.
Breh the laser room was like a deflated balloon to me. Stand right next to some completely unthreatening lasers and crouch through. Then, slow ass lasers coming towards you, you could read the entirety of lord of the rings before you press the circle button to finally dodge. Absolutely zero challenge and not a single thing about the new laser room feels menacing. It's like a kids playground.
My man here cringing over video games stupid scenes, while playing a game about zombies and an evil conspiracy organization that wants to create the "perfect human race" that will treat them like gods.
It's either a insecure dev or have zero social tact to understand that games are not real life. 🤣
@@Exxus61422 u do know that u can walk through the path the lasers make in OG RE4 too? and no way Leon is surviving that last part of the laser room, only someone with a webshooter (Spider-Man) and grapple gun (Batman and Ada) can survive (counting normal human beings only)
the lasers in OG moved so slow u can watch the entire Arrowverse and still have time left to press the buttons
I have hundreds of hours in the OG RE4 and it's one of my favorite games of all time, so I might have an idea how these laser rooms compare to each other... Atleast in the OG version the button combination you're supposed to hit is not the same each time and you have a narrower timespan to hit it, and the fact that it is a combination and not a simple circle button, every time, makes it a bit more tense than the current one, oh, and the lasers are faster too in the OG. Now I'm not saying the OG is more realistic. It makes more sense to me that Ada does the laser room, but that's literally about the only thing better about the new laser room. It feels lame as hell in the new one compared to the OG. They should have atleast made it a random combination and not survivable by button mashing a single goddamn button and some walking... Jesus. Like, atleast punishment for reacting at the wrong time, bc honestly irl dodging those moving laser webs is gonna take some timing. Like, something about it has to be atleast somewhat challenging. No, I don't want people to get stuck bc of a single room and die over and over and over again, I want them to turn it up just a notch so it puts people on their toes. That's what made the OG laser room more fun. Oh, and I forgot to mention that the lasers in the OG were instant death like they are supposed to. The new laser room is way too forgiving and lame in every single way compared to the OG.
Mmm I dunno. Feels like Leon is more impressive. Especially with those backflips near the end. Man just turn into fuckin Neo in the Matrix. Ada feels more grounded but kinda less impressive cause of it

Короче изначально было так, леон и с правительственным спецназом приезжайте в Европу в почти копию одного из особняка спонсора, Туда приезжают конкурирующей с Амбреллой -фирмы спецназ наемники, происходит бой где останется только Леон, засаженный неизвестным вирусом, далее мрачный особняк мистика (вызванная галлюцинациями) зомби И так далее …
Выяснилось что Т- вирус это от предка человека чьи останки под особняком находятся… Озвел Спенсор там якобы что то нашел и начал мутить …
Вроде как из раннего материала хотели добавить Хэнка, как телохранителя Спенсора, и за него в дополнении можно было поиграть «охрана Спенсора»…

Но все похерили, сценарий и 90% игры 3.5 - в помойку
