I’m mcgavock HS band here. Wow. I remember this performance. They weren’t as loud as us but they won the day. Great show. It brings back so many memories.
I was on the rifle line for Obion County 93-96. That year was our first time at CoC and I was awestruck. When those steps came out my jaw hit the ground. Really fantastic! We were so proud just to make finals with you guys!
It was all mcgavock and Lafayette back then. This was Lafayettes championship year I believe. All mcgavock all the way but this put chills down my spine. Well done! Good lord we marched a huge band back then.
I marched with Columbia Central High, we always looked up to this band and played Les Mis in 2000 season. We didn't do Master of the House, and it looked so fun damnit.
I really miss marching. I want my daughters to be able to have the experiences I had. It's up to them, and I won't force them into anything. But, damnit, other than seeing them born, there's only a handful of feelings in my life that made me feel better than marching. Making beautiful sounds and sights are incredible, but when you are part of a group (band), it becomes something completely different. I'm a band dork. There are a lot of us, and I bet almost all of us would agree.
Nope, this would mark the first and last time I ever played "drums" for Lafayette. I stuck with the pit, where I became section leader my last year. Thanks for the kudos though. Bit of trivia: That drum was de-converted from a bedside table back into a drum for that show. It has since become a table again. ;) I still have the bandana however.
Oh, because I was watching Belshazzar's Feast, and sure enough there you were, I was like wait that means he was a freshamn in 94! Well you should be proud to have such a prominate part in one of Kentuckys best marching shows.
We can, we just haven't had the right conditions to make a show like this. I blame last year on a bad senior class and horrible luck. I think we have what it takes this year to do an outstanding show, but everyone will have to "raise the bar".
How did you get that spot as a freshman? Becuase you would have to be a freshman then because you can clearly be seen in the 1997 state video at the end.
They did a end of the show spell out in 91 93 94 95 96 97 98 99 2003 and a begging sorta one in 2005, yah i have all the video's, there awesome, i want an end of the show speell out too.
What band are you in? This is one of the best shows in the history of band itself, you make youreself look bad, and badly reflect on youre band. What band is that btw?

Its a shame Lafayette doesn't have as many mello solos now as it did in the '90s
All total compliment was around 236 members. This band was a great experience to be a part of.
Yikes. Man this makes me feel old. I was the infamous drummer boy at 8:17. I never lived that moment down... heh
I remember you ☺
Your guard is the most amazing thing I have ever seen. Ever. Hands down. Rifle work was excellent.
wow the slide trombone solo was amazing
Herman Bratcher you did an amazing job this year!!!! Way to go soloist! -Andrew's mom

Infamous?!?! Thats one of my favorite parts!
Best band and this is best year
Where my mellos at??? This was a trip! Best year EVER
It was a fluke really. No one else worked out and there I was. Actually I tried my best to blend into the scenery my first year, but to no avail.
my fav is when they form lafayette in the end :)
awesome! true marching at its best!
Tate Vanhoose's trombone solo = Classic.
Absolutely
That solo was as smooth as butter.
Hey, I put Ballet Russes up, but I took down Bring on the Night due to lack of views.
SO MANY PEOPLE!!!
My high school band has only like..32 people.
Yes, small...but MIGHTY! Lol.
I would hate to set all those sets..
Sheesh
I wish we could have another show like this one. What happened?
Yes to Master of the House!
