    Hi. I have a 2018 kymco 700i mxu. This is my second one. My first one was a 500 mxu. I loved my 500 and love my 700 more. I paid way less then what I would have for other brands and I've had zero issues with either bike I've owned. Dont knock one until you have either tried one or either owned one. They are great machines and I'm very pleased with mine.

    I bought a 2021 kymco maxxer so far the only complaint I have is it stalled out on me 4 times ... I driven it 30 miles . I called the dealership they told me it’s common that there’s probably air bubbles in the gas lines 😮 ...hmmm I just have to keep in eye on it , I did buy the warranty extension I got it warranty for five years I’m glad I did... i’m planning on doing a review on her on RUclips because there’s no reviews on that model so let me know if you guys want me to do one....

    In regards to KYMCO looks, price, quality and performance. Quality, KYMCO is Japanese quality and European quality. They have been a supplier of parts and complete vehicles for the other brands for years. Honda, Kawasaki, Arctic Cat and BMW, yes, BMW for both motorcycles and their new hybrid cars. So, manufacturing quality is there, they are not Chinese junk. They are one of the largest scooter manufacturers worldwide, they are in no danger of going bankrupt. When entering into their own brand for offroad, they made what was selling, though they are not Rhino knockoffs, they are styled as a typical UTV with emphasis on the U. Comments about their pricing is spot on, they either need to drop prices for similar functionality or step up features in order to offer a better value proposition. I race the KYMCO UXV 700 in the WORCS series and am developing aftermarket parts for it. The motor is very well designed and allows for BIG improvements in performance. Next year I will be racing in the 900 class with my 700 and expect to take home the championship. It's a very solid vehicle. They came out with the UXV 450 SxS, performance per cc has been stepped up and the price point is good, but the competition is very close to it now too. I can tell you that they are making changes in their company to be more forward thinking in their design of vehicles and you should see some exciting products coming from them in the future. Don't ask me what, can't tell you. They are a good company, they are going to get much, much better.

    I actually like the styling of it, I think it looks awesome. That front end is aggressive looking, reminds me of a Dodge Ram or something. A guy down the street from me has one. One of these days I'll pick his brain and find out how it's held up over time.

    I am looking at getting the 2017 Kymco mxu 700 LE. Do you know if they fixed the suspension issue you mentioned? I have narrowed it down to the Kymco mxu 700 LE($7,555) Polaris sportsman 570 with EPS($7,086), Suzuki KingQuad 500 SE($7,699), and the Suzuki KingQuad 750 EPS($7,499). All atv's are new. I'm new to atv's and do not want to spend more than $8,000 on an atv. I appreciate the video and would love one on the 2017 model. Your advise is greatly appreciated. I look forward to your reply.

    Get a lesson or 2 about KYMCO, since most of you here ride them yourselves, you own probably one Kymco only and you take care of it when you own it:
    I own and rent currently 17 Kymco ATVs and last year I had 23 of them. 10 of them are the Kymco MXU250 which is 249cc and the rest are MXU150 which is 150cc. So they are small machines withh less capabilities.
    My job is to rent them during HARSH summer conditions on a Greek island to tourists that usuallly are drunk, do not care at all for the machine and go flat out, driving in sand, driving in sea, you name it.
    I gotta tell you this:
    These machines are BEASTS.. The only way to destroy them is i)crash them ii)let them run out of oil
    These machines are champions hands down......

    @Driftuner 6 лет назад +3

    I dont think some of the comments on price are fair. First off: this is NOT a new brand. In fact, Kymco exists for longer than ATVs exist. They go all the way back to the 60s. Yes, the 60s. And in case you dont know, Kymco's birth was thank to Honda. Kymco used to be one of the first Honda factories outside japan. After the factory was sold by Honda and bought by private owners, they started to produce parts not only for Honda, but also for Kawa, Yami, Suzi and even hybrid systems for the likes of BMW and the brits. In the early 90s this factory realised they had know-how enough to become its own brand, and so enters the brand "Kymco" to the world. So dont diminish them by saying things like "oh such a lesser brand needs to offer more in order to become attractive". Well, they do! Quality! What you get here is a 700cc full specd atv for the price of a popolaris 570 and a "honda-like" quality! What else do you want?! People need to stop saying shit about stuff they dont know and get better informed. You can talk, the way you talked on this video, about a CF Moto for example, but not about Kymco. Then these guys not only bring knowledge to the table, they also have heritage.

    The rear suspension has hardly any wheel travel, I agree the wheel tire combo is right and the bighorn 2.0 are a lot better than the new one.

    • @gregrowe1168
      @gregrowe1168 9 лет назад +5

      +TheCamaro5 So by the time you upgrade the shocks to get a good ride, you could have just bought a Grizzly for the same amount of money. I hate to put Kymco down but they kinda fall in between. They're not cheap enough to be considered a great value and performance and quality isn't good enough to compete with others in the same class. Everything they build is some sort of compromise.

  • @solanocycleinc
    @solanocycleinc 8 лет назад +2

    KYMCO just rolled back their prices substantially on 3/1/16. Plus they are giving military and armed forces rebates up to $500 at the moment. I think they just addressed your price concerns. You may want to edit this video based on the new pricing. That MXU 700i LE EPS in the video is now $7,899($1900 price drop) and you can get regular version for $6599. Don't know how long they are going to hold those prices, but that is an unbelievable price!

    • @gregrowe1168
      @gregrowe1168 9 лет назад +2

      +Barack Hussein Osama Perhaps if Kymco built something that wasn't a copy of a Grizzly, maybe someone would buy it. Come up with an original idea for once. Like put a big v-twin in it so it would outperform the Grizzly. Instead they put an outdated engine in it that lacks power. If Kymco wasn't used to outsource youth models, they probably would have gone bankrupt years ago. Honestly, go to any dealer, new or used. Unless its a Kymco dealer, you will never see a used Kymco for sale. I don't know anyone who has ever owned a Kymco. Everything they make is a blatant copy of something somebody else made that was successful. The utility side by side is a copy of a Yamaha Rhino, for instance. Its sad really. They're like the kid in school looking over your shoulder trying to cheat off you on a test. But you still did better because they couldn't copy well enough.

    • @gregrowe1168
      @gregrowe1168 9 лет назад +3

      That's pretty much the way I feel about Kymco. There's nothing really wrong with them but they don't dazzle either. They don't have anything in their lineup that isn't very similar to something made by any of the bigger manufacturers. I would rather buy a new Yamaha Kodiak 700 than this machine and the Kodiak actually costs less. Now if they priced this Kymco 700 at say $6000, then you would definitely have my attention. But thats not going to happen. It will constantly be an uphill battle for a company like Kymco. I give them credit for trying at least.

    • @gregrowe1168

      Better yet, give me a stripped down base model for 5K. I can live without power steering and fancy wheels and tires. I can add a winch for $200.

    Nice Review AJ. Do you make it to any of the WORCS races? I just got my MXU 700 in and threw some Elkas on it to race the WORCS race at Primm. My main competition is a guy on a 2016 Renegade 850 XC. Do you want to guess who won? You can check out the video on my Warp Offroad facebook page or here on Wicked Al Racing youtube page. I'm doing some engine work to it (BTW, these things love to be tweaked) getting it ready for the Las Vegas race in a couple of weeks. If you're in the neighborhood, give me a hollar and you can throw a leg over it and take it for a spin.

    • @wickedalracing
      @wickedalracing 8 лет назад

      +Kegan Wilson Depends on how much you want to spend. For racing, shocks are critical. I got some Elkas spec'ed out that give it more wheel travel and tons more control. A good clutch makes a big difference, I can give you a lead on a guy who does a great job with the clutches. For a little more pep, open up the top of the air box and cover it with outerwears type of material. The increased airflow is good for 4-5hp. add an open exhaust. Add a Dobeck fuel controller. If you want to get into the engine, I just finished some 14:1 pistons, combine that with a ported head and mild cam and that will take you from about 36hp rear wheel stock to low 50's at the rear tires after everything is said and done.

    I've been researching ATV's for a while now and have so far decided on a 2019 KingQuad 500 or 750 (undecided), and with the Yamaha competition being a close second choice. However, after spending months reading, watching, and scouring the net for information - It appears Kymco is a great company and product with their history of making engine for Honda and Arctic Cat using some of their parts / wheeler.
    My only issue is its hard to shake that 'coming to the party late' feeling. Similar to the Korean manufactures as stated in this video. I like the extras that Kymco gives and the dealer has them listed at compelling prices, but would hate to save so much money and get stuck with a machine that doesn't run.
    Every forum has a few owners that have owned or currently own a Kymco and some have 12-20k kilometers with only basic maintenance and belt replacement as needed. I would buy one and put it through the paces to write up reports and video's IF my financial situation was a little stronger these days.

    • @solanocycleinc
      @solanocycleinc 8 лет назад +6

      +corvettecraver There are a flood of cheap chinese manufacturers on the Market, KYMCO isn't one of them. If you think Honda, Kawasaki, and BMW are cheap, then I guess KYMCO is cheap. Think of KYMCO like Aisin. Aisin makes water pumps and other parts for Toyota. You can go to Toyota and get a water pump for $250-300, or you can buy and Aisin for about half that. It's the same pump, made in the same factory, by the same company. KYMCO built for Honda for about 20-25 years. They are Japanese quality. As of right now, they build their own bikes, plus they build all of Arctic Cats ATVs from 450cc and below, they build the Kawasaki 50, 90, and 300 ATV, they build 2 motorcycle engines for BMW, and they build the gasoline extended range motor in the Hybrid BMW I3....The very one that BMW advertised at the Superbowl last year. They are very high quality and very reliable. I've been selling them since they landed in the USA in 2000. I use their rental bikes in my rental fleet in St. Augustine. My servicing cost dropped by 50% when I switched to KYMCO. I was using a Korean made scooter before that was affiliated with Suzuki. As for price, KYMCO just rolled back their prices effective 3/1/16. You can now get a 4x4 MXU 450i for $4999, an MXU 500i for $5999, and the MXU 700i in the video starts at $6599..And for right now, they are offering armed services, police, fire, rescue, current/ex military, etc an additional $500 off. They also have Side x Sides from 450cc-700cc. They aren't going to out run a Polaris, but they are very high quality, and very reliable. And now with their lower prices, they are, BY FAR, the lowest price high end ATVs and Side x Sides on the market. Someone also mentioned South Korea as an Ally. Taiwan is also an ally. They are a democratic, capitalist country. Taiwan is where the Nationalist Chinese government and army retreated to when Mao's Communist Red Army took over mainland China. They were our Allies against the Japanese in WWII.
