I just got this monitor today and it has the latest firmware! Plus the remote has the battery inside it so i dont have to buy a seperate one. Good job on customer experience LG!
Cheers mate your useful comments about the updating getting stuck at 50% / 87% and occasional flickering being normal put me at ease. Going through the update now and look forward to getting rid of that 4k 120hz bug, which I thought was a glitch in games as opposed to the monitor.
According to Tim from monitors unboxed, the most brightness improvement you'll notice is in the gamer 2 preset. He also said that color accuracy is severely affected in gamer 2 preset. Honestly I don't give a shit about color accuracy as much as I do with peak brightness and contrast.
Wondering if you would know a solution for the onscreen control not registering its been connected? I have tried different cables and multiple ports on my computer but it doesn't recognise any of them... thanks for creating this content!
I noticed another On Screen Control That is not the Red color one. Its more of a Black & White GUI. Is there a video you have or articles for its use? That new firmware by the way is great. I'm using the 45 inch monitor for Flight Simulators, Xplane pops now. Thank You.
I just keep it on gamer 1 or 2. Vivid is nice but too blue for me. Contrast set at 60-70 you descide as the hight contrast the more abl is seen on certain games like street fighter flashes.. but usually 70 is nice even with that abl for that added punch to the image.
Do we no longer have to use the usb cable to update the firmware? I downloaded the firmware, rebooted my PC, then i hooked the usb cable up and hit run but the OSC is the current version it says.
How much is the input lag now after the latest update ? also does setting the DAS mode ON or OFF effect with Input Lag ms ? how are the flashy frames scenes look now in street fighter alpha 3 , is it more brighter ?

XSX black HDR calibration section was completely crushed black. Even after I turn the black levels all the way to the right so I can see the checkerboard it’s still black.

Saludos friend.. the monitor will either be up to date or need that firmware update depending on what the On screen display says. The update only really bring 9-15 nits increase. You should be fine. Try srgb mode for creation and gamer 1 or 2 for gaming. Vivid is nice but it pushes blue a bit too much. It all depends on what you like.. let me know what you think of the monitor. Oh dont forget to turn off the smart energy saver option.
I down loaded this thinking this will fix my issue with not getting the 240hz. till I changed the cables and not using the HDMI , but the other one that came in the box. the cable that is label as DP. I wish that said in the box or someone tell me.
I cant seem to figure out why my monitor has white horizontal lines flickering all over my screen when nvidia control panel is completely default . If i change the monitor color thing from 8bpc to 10 it goes away.
When can you finally disconnect the usb cable for good and put it away? What's the point of disconnecting it and then reconnecting it? You don't say when it's okay to disconnect for a second time.
How do I use a USB A to USB C to update it? The monitor doesn't have a USB C port. So how do I even begin to form a connection between my PC and the monitor using a USB A and a USB C cable?
I have a problem with this monitor. Short, flickering lines one pixel thick appear. When I take the cable out and put it back in, they disappear. Does anyone know what can be done about it? Help :(
Is vertical banding noticeable on your model? I've got two in a row now with the same feint lines down the screen wondering if it goes away after awhile or I pulled from a bad batch LOL
I just bought this monitor today and am doing the update. Honestly I cannot tell much of an improvement over my Lenovo lcd monitor and it was running at 60hz. I can't get mine to do 240hz. The highest it goes is 144hz. This is running from a Razer Blade Pro 17 2020 model with a 2080 super video card in it. I know the graphics card can do 240hz because the laptop screen will do 300hz. So I am unsure as to why the monitor will not show 240hz. Maybe when the update finishes I will see a better improvement and be able to choose 240hz. But for 1000 dollars I don't see a real noticeable difference between my other monitor and this new one.
You won't get 240 hz out of this monitor on a 2080 super because the 2080 super doesn't support 2.1 hdmi. Only 2.0. That's why you will max out at 144hz.
Just got this monitor and I'm thinking of updating its firmware. Does the monitor stay on for the whole 2 hour installing process? I don't feel comfortable leaving an oled panel on for that long.

ive been trying to update the firmware for hours. i downloaded onscreen monitor but it looks nothing like yours instead its black and white not purple. did i do something wrong?

Had to switch back to my c1 because of how terrible the response time is. Guys, it's because this monitor doesn't have ALL. Returning it 2moreow for the c2
No friend. Let it update. Its safe. LG would have not allowed a long update if it was due to burn in. But maybe put it on a low brightness preset if you want. I had mine on vivid on this video.
Having done this update to my 45" I can safely say its not worth the time it took which was about an hour on a 3 gig fiber line. They completely ruined Gamer 2 to get their fake in house numbers.
Yep. Really disappointing vs. what a lot of people where expecting/hoping for. I still love the monitor, but the difference between day and night gaming is, uhh, day and night.

Disconnect all cables for 20 minutes? Come on, it's ridiculous. I would like too see a proof link for that. It may be reasonable to unplug all cables for some non zero time interval like lets say 10 seconds. 1, 10 or 20 mins wont make any difference

Imput lag is less if you use 2.1 hdmi cable with Das for sure ;)
The part where it says unplug the cable from your monitor and reinsert it again, is that right after the update before clicking okay?
