I'm happy to hear Jack Duxbury on the subject as well. He's also not only a great musician but a great explainer/instructor. Not always the same thing.
Pure genius, low key MP style. Thanks so much Mike and Andertons for this. Looking forward to one of these every week for the next 500 years. Love to see some neo soul and R&B progressions.
Great video! Any video with Mike is always enjoyable to watch and listen to. You mentioned playing strings… Please could we get a lesson on how to arrange strings appropriately and how keyboard players, producers etc should and could move around them, selecting the right harmonies so that the end product sounds more realistic. Hope to see you in more videos!
Gold and will remember the few that I forgot as a kid repeatition is my down fall practice a part for a lil not a lot and it should be the other way around.. thanks again gems pure gems💯✊
I would just like to say thank you to all of the guys at Andertons because I was mess about by another big online music shop for months and my faith was really knocked. I live in the Highlands of Scotland and its hard to get some instruments delivered but you guys came through for me and restored my faith. Thanks to everyone who made my purchase possible and you did it in super fast time.
I've been a fan of mike p from his instagram feed fir a couple years. So happy to find this channel and surprised to find out one of you guys is him! Great content. Thank you
Excellent tips Mike. Practicing fundamentals first enhances the various approaches of chord progressions and expression. I'm a fan of yours and use your thoughts and tips to improve my skills and play. Thanks for being so gracious with your sharing.
Michael, Excellent video. I play, but not that good, and applying your tips will help for sure, especially the last one. I hear how you play, and I want to play in a similar way, impatient...
Fell in love with Mike's playing about 3 years ago with the Montage video. Basically made me see the value in the Mongtage. Shame he didn't get to demo the new Montage here. But great playing as always!
I saw that when you talked about changing keys in minor 3rds, you were in fact just following the shape of diminished 7 chords. That's one of my take from this, thank you.
Mike Patrick Outstanding concept and idea showing How to play Better Keys love Your Chord choice Thank you For sharing God bless Producer Chico Black ❤
I wish Mike would create content similar to the Halo episode at Andertons, but with a focus on playing gaming theme songs and sounds. It would be so fascinating!
Excellent tips! Very useful - Thanks for putting these on for us. As a side note, suggest dumping the tacky background music while Mike is talking. It's distracting.
Excellent suggestions. Regarding imitating other instruments (like guitar or strings for example), one should be aware of instrument ranges to create a more realistic performance. For example, the lowest note on a six string guitar is E2, so low Eb's, etc. would not normally be possible. Also, double bass low range is normally low E1, although some concert instruments have an extension to low C. Thank you Mike for the wisdom you share with us!
Very interesting video. We want more! 😉 can you talk about composing songs with the modes : aolian, dorian, phrygian etc... Or the extras notes in ich degrees of the scale in ich style of music? It will be dope! Thanks in advance Swane.
Brother Mike, you are an incredible musician. Man, I've been trying for years to accomplish that goal of becoming a great keyboard/organ player. My stressful career kept me in and out of learning. I'm determined to play with the help of God, I'm determined. And I wanted to ask about Yahama sponsorship?
Hi guys ! I love all your videos but that background music really is disturbing when trying to focus (especially as someone with perfect pitch) ! Thanks for your content and have a nice day :)
I appreciate how polite Mike was.
Mike Patrick giving piano tips? I’m in!!! 💯 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾🔥🔥🔥
It's always a pleasure hearing Mike play!
This is the best.
Mike is the best.

My biggest red flag is thinking that buying a nord = playing as well as Mike
Lol😂

What is the name of the song during the guitar part at 6:35? I swear I've heard it somewhere else but can't remember the name.
All videos with Mike Patrick are good videos!
Awesome! 💯
Gold, sheer gold.
Hey! Thanks for these tips. I want to ask how do you structure your practice? I need guidance. Thanks
Great video, gonna start using some of these right away!

It's even on while he's playing at one point! ugh.
I love the marimba progression, can you share the chords or explain it please?

PoliteMike the Great Sage of Music ✨✨✨

“Every Key is Unique, every key has a different color”
*Relatively* speaking, yes 😉
I have a Nord Piano 4 - but that 5 sounds so much better. Nothing to do with genius Mike of course…..😂 -great video.
Tip #4 was the most helpful for me. I often play strings and guitar sounds just like I play the piano. Now I won’t lol thanks.
When Mike talks, I listen.
Tip 4 is probably the best one for me, trying to play more like the actual instrument
....you had me with "Mike Patrick"
Legend say mike eats piano for breakfast
Stunning. What about a RUclips Piano School. Please start at hour 10 😄. A fancy venue like @OpenStudioJazz can come eventually.
Mike Patrick playing the nord piano? Whattaaaaaa? where is Montage M? kkkk Montage M iit's incredible
And remember: IF YOU CAN PLAY IT SLOWLY, YOU CAN PLAY IT QUICKLY 😜
how to improvise jazz or advanced chord progressions
I think i like this board, im going to buy it but nothing sounds better than a Kawai
I want 5 tips from Dan bingham!!!
He's on tour with Jack - for James Arthur
this guy is goatesque
Hi guys ! I love all your videos but that background music really is disturbing when trying to focus (especially as someone with perfect pitch) ! Thanks for your content and have a nice day :)
where is Jack ? is jack gone :(
Only bad thing: you didn't play us out
Seriously: where's Jack? 😭
On Tour... with James Arthur!
His hands just moving like two giant spiders above the keys…..
Nord sounds are terrible. So flat
You're a great player!!! But that's no flamenco!!! Get your "latin" labels right, please!!! But great tips!! Thanks a lot!!
Really great! Thanks
