After dual booting windows onto my steamdeck, I tried Forza again and got an extremely smooth 60 fps on high settings, no stutters whatsoever. It's one of the only games on Steam where i prefer it on Windows over the SteamOS. Usually it's the other way around.
It would be very interesting if you tried out cryoutilities with this game to see if it fixes the stuttering. Usually it doesn't boost performance that much but really helps the 1% lows

The steam version of this game on AMD cards is totally broken since the release. I had a laptop with AMD 5300M and I've opened many tickets to microsoft to fix the stutters but they just seem like they don't care. However the Windows Store (or the Xbox app) version plays without any issues.
forza horizon 5 actually runs well and the stuttering was reduced much, if you lock the gpu frequency to 1300 mhz for me at medium-high settings, 2x msaa and vsync off. fps lock to 50.
Use ultra but play with the sao i find that makes huge changes on the deck im playing horizon zero dawn with high at 60 fps but turned the sao down and my stutters seem to always go away hope it helps 😊
If you just need the virtual keyboard to sign in valve should say its verified but put a note about it at the bottom like they do for games thst can only be played online.
hey bud I th😢the reason why it runs smooth is when you use an application called cryoutilitys it's a steam deck optimizer and it ups the ram form 2 to 4 and it's a lot smoother but some stutters but pritty little way better then Forza 5 also please try out starwars battlefront 2
It runs really good on my dek at high, But Project Cars seems to be all over the place idk why. Krizzp please do like GTA Trilogy optimization video it runs TRASH 🗑️ on my dek, played at 480p gave up.
in my region forza 4 ultimate is 3.7 dollar normally im not play race games sometimes fh5 with gamepass but is worth to buy fh4 ultimate city and atmosphere looks better than 5 also ill use keyboard and mouse is controls good
I turned off vertical synchronization and unlocked the frame rate on the game and locked the fps on the steam deck with high render quality on and get constant 60fps with barely any stuttering if someone could test that more and tell me what they get

No way to reach a perfect 60fps in the highly optimized Forza 4? That is disappointing. I don't see the appeal of the Deck anymore, I would be buying a downgrade of my already low spec laptop (i5 + 1650). I doubt I will take such a big device outside anyway, so the portability is not such a big improvement from a laptop. (Plus since I heard you would be plugged in anyway for long gaming sessions, why not just use a a laptop?)
The performance is not in fault of the steamdeck but the "highly optimized" game Forza 4 (and 5). The game just does not perform well on Linux. Proof of this is once I dual-booted Windows onto my steamdeck, Forza 5 ran absolutely amazing. It's just better optimized for Windows OS, in terms of raw power the Steamdeck's specs have more than enough juice to play Forza 5 on high settings, 60 fps.

Yeah I’ve noticed that on just about every game that I’ve played on the Deck
Stutters mainly happens when you leave to the frame limit off, usually I keep it in 60fps or 45fps and never had a stuttering issue.
