It seems like those pretentious RUclips snobs didn't quite understand or respect what it was that you did. They didn't seem to understand that you need total quiet and relaxation and a calm environment. :/ I hope you have a better time next time D: Keep your chin up, your viewers love and support you! :D
Why did they give you such a hard time? Did you need reservations? I thought RUclips space was a chill spot. Maybe they don't offer to help unless you ask? Ask for a tour next time. Maybe it needs to be by appointment? Don't let anyone treat you other than how you deserve, Maria. You're so soft spoken and sweet and polite that I don't think you need to worry about coming across as rude or demanding. RUclips space is supposed to be a very supportive place. Maybe the NY staff just sucks at their job
No yes, I can't complain, it was a free space and the opportunity is amazing! :) We did book it a couple weeks ahead and only this 1 set was available in the next few months, even though most rooms were empty while we were there :/ Our assigned "assistant" was on vacation so we were left to ourselves because she was on vacation, lol, so there was no help. During the recording people just were walking around, talking, laughing with zero respect that we were there sitting right in front of them and recording! The beginning was the worst when we were treated with the face full of attitude when we apologized for being a bit late, because we couldn't find this place for 30 minutes. Then blank stares at us when we would ask questions. I don't know... I didn't see one smile that day, I heard alot of laughter from another set in the next room but that was it for fun. I may be spoiled by respect but I'd never treat anyone like that. That is just my opinion ofcourse. :)
I'm sorry to hear that it wasn't the best experience - especially as your parents were there also :((( Though maybe that was good as they could be of support to you. I love seeing Darryl & your parents being so supportive of you, going with you to the studios, carrying the stuff ;) Hope you all made funny faces at each other at the rudeness, like >:P

+Sassy Masha Vlogs You are absolutely right, Masha. The golden rule: Treat others as you want to be treated - applies everywhere, even at the RUclips studios. However, it's been my experience, MOST, not ALL techie people are pretty much void of social graces. Perhaps that is why they prefer to work with machines they can manipulate rather than human beings they cannot control. Just my opinion. You're a beautiful person inside and out, Masha, and all 600,000+ followers of you followers know it!

They probably didn't get a tour or assistance setting up because they were late. It sounds like they might have been half an hour late if they only had half an hour left.

I know this isn't in your nature, but have you thought about complaining about how rudely you were treated to youtube? you have 670,000 subscribers, it's not like this is the first time you have posted a youtube video. I would be infuriated if I was treated like that because I didn't make mainstream videos. You are an amazing youtuber and deserve to be treated as such

Btw, I am not sure how ASMR vids can work out in such a hectic and multicultural (not the right word for it, but I cant think of how else to say it) environment...especially bcs I think you mostly need to get into the "zone" and have everything perfect for your videos. i am not that much of a perfectionist, but seeing this made me feel like I want to be home rather than in RUclipsland, and I am not even an ASMRtist! :D

While they were at RUclips, the parents were still there. You can even see them in the beginning of the video when they bought the cupcakes. Even on FB I saw that the parents went back only days later.

Yes, I agree.. this is definitely not a good place for a peaceful community, it's probably awesome for comedy segments and such. I was VERY surprised that most of the rooms were booked a few months ahead and when I was there most rooms were just empty, I wonder if they just hold these for bigger RUclipsrs, so that part sucked a bit, plus we were pushed around a bit and got a lot of awkward stares and a bit of attitude at us when we asked questions like "so which way should we go... where do we get our equipment... do we just walk in?..." none of their plugs worked so we had to ask random people were to plug in power and everyone was looking at us like wild animals haha. Otherwise I loved the experience. My parents were there with us. Yes, they were watching me record and that added to awkwardness. :P but everyone got an experience of a lifetime for sure. :)

We've got one in Toronto if I'm not mistaken. Pretty sure they set one up recently in partnership with George Brown College.

What is this studio?? Like I can see comedy or vloggy type youtubers like Glozell or Tyler Oakly using this studio and like maybe some make up or cooking RUclips people. But like you have to book these rooms? Why? How is this a sound business model? If your main source of income and revenue as a content creator is to make videos constantly, what is the point of renting out space in a crammed and tiny studio where you can only film like one video before you're forced out??? I'm really confused as to the nature of RUclips with things like this and RUclips red. Like RUclips is trying really hard to venture out and be new things, I get it but this seems so opposite of just user created content and I don't like it.
But sorry for rambling, it's still amazing seeing you Maria! I hope you had a fun trip in NYC!!
Google, who owns RUclips, made these hubs for people to do their videos in. It's obviously first come first serve basis and it probably fills up very quickly. It's free to use, if I'm not mistaken, but you have to book it. And I'm not sure what the requirement is to be able to book it. Like, it's probably only VIP or content creators with a certain amount of subs idk.
Business-wise, content creators especially the popular ones, are very much partnered with RUclips. They make money and they make Google/RUclips money. So Google is providing and supporting ways for content creators to make videos in a more professional manner
Which is why I commented about how these spaces are supposed to be very supportive and helpful to Maria
