Obsessed Garage: Engine Bay Package

- The Engine Bay Package includes the few products I would use to clean up my engine bay and give it a nice matte dressing to keep it looking clean and new. I'm not a big APC user since I always keep my engine clean. If you have a dirty engine bay you might want to spray it down with some Meguiar's D101 mixed 4:1 and use some of the brushes in the engine bay collection to clean it up. After it's all clean from using Meguiar's D101 All Purpose cleaner you'll want to use Hyper Dressing to give it a nice clean look. I've been using Meguiar's Hyper Dressing for years now and it's a simple spray on the engine bay (I suggest diluting 4:1) and close the hood and walk away. When you come back in the morning just wipe away any small leftover product and you're good.

Been using meguiars apc for 4-5 years, almost exclusively for interior because it’s a softer cleaner and contains fabric softener for carpet and fabric. At 4/1 or 5/1, it does it all for interior, leather plastics carpets. Good fresh smell, no residue left behind, good foaming action.
You could call me somewhat new to detailing, r a few months of using this app, it’s given everything you can want, cleans stuck on dirt especially in ashtrays it works wonders, takes dirt of wheels easily the only thing it has to be wipe dog properly
Man, Sears catalogs and Spiegel too, were a great source of dreams, and aspirations for kids back in the day! Those were classic Chicago department stores with a healthy catalog business. I would read through them and dream about having tools, bicycles, sports equipment, toys, you name it. Sears and Spiegel catalog order business was especially popular back in the 60's and 70's. I guess they were the Amazon of their day! lol
Wonder how the P&S cleaner would do in lieu of the Megs all purpose cleaner for the engine bay.
I had a good chuckle when you brought up the Sears catalog. I use to go through and circle the Craftsmen tool sets as well... and Lego. I'm 40, so you hit the demographic on the head. I'm definitely interested in the "Moreman Master Set" down the road when I'm in a new house.
Man...I loved those catalogs.
@@ObsessedGarage I feel like we lost something significant as a society when catalogs died due to the rize of online shopping. They were so tangible and organized. There are times I wish I had a catalog rather than sorting through 71,463 results on Amazon. Oh well, my 25 year old Craftsman tool set still works great.
Your videos are very soothing.. Keep up the great work.
Thanks!

Boom! Thanks man!
Hey Matt, I couldn’t find meguiars hyperwash on your website. Is it not ready yet?
www.obsessedgarage.com/search?type=product&q=hyper+dressing
reddarin there are just hyper dressing and apc on the website
@@NhanThanh-xc8lt Oh! Hyperwash! I'm sorry I thought you were asking about hyperdressing.
I haven't added HyperWash yet. I'm still not certain on it over Adam's.
If your interested in the bicycle tools you need to look into Abbey bike tools and evt. PB Swiss Allen keys, beta tools. Outside of frame tools like bb and head tube facing and chasing tools park isn't the top of the heap.
Any experience with optimum’s power clean? And thoughts about using an apc to clean wheels / tires / bugs? Thanks!
Yeah, it's good too. I don't like using alkaline cleaners on paint if I don't have to do it. They break down the protection layer.
I know you like/use Perl more for tires, but could hyper dressing be a product that could be used as an all in one for everything, meaning tires, wheel wells, etc, maybe with a more stronger application on tires?Have read that’s not that durable on tires, your thoughts on that comparing it to Pearl?, BTW I’m in FL too, freaking rain sucks. Also, in a case using HD as all in one, would you still recommend getting a 32oz undiluted or a gallon would be better. Great stuff Matt 👍👌
Yes, it can be used on all.
Obsessed Garage In that case would you recommend getting a gallon or a 32oz be enough? Thanks
is it 4:1 cleaner to water or 4:1 water to cleaner?
The smaller number is always the chemical in question. 1 part chemical 4 parts water with a total of 5 parts.
Doesnt matter if its expressed as 1:4 or 4:1. Although 4:1 is more commonly used. I have seen both
@@vincentvalentine9417 Thanks for the clarification
M APC is very good
Dorian is on its way. You and your family be safe. Good.luck.
Matt, does your brain ever rest? The process to think all the steps you spell out is amazing. Also I have been using brushes from the Detail Factory. Great product. I don’t why I would mention it because I would be surprised if you had not heard of them. Really enjoy your videos and content. Till the next time. (Oh, and I have a full set of RaceGlaze brushes and I reach for Detail Factory brushes every time.)
I had those brushes at prototype. I just think they are a bit too soft for this application.
Nice💪🏼
hey Matt, you should try offering Shine Supply Solution. it is the best APC I have ever used! and extremely safe.
100% agree, most of his stuff is good but Solution is next level
Meguairs APC is over priced and doesn't even smell nice. ValetPRO multi purpose cleaner kicks its ass and is less than half the price. Hyper dressing is very good when diluted 5:1 but still a hefty price tag for 3.79L.
Using the term "overpriced" makes no sense to me.
@@ObsessedGarage Excellent news, I'll be sure to bare that in mind.
