DCNS FREMM Frigate Tahya Misr تحيا مصر (ex-Normandie) Delivered to Egypt

France handed over the FREMM Multi-Missions frigate Tahya Misr (meaning Long Live Egypt) with hull number 1001 to the Egyptian Navy during a ceremony held June 23rd at the DCNS shipyard of Lorient in Brittany. Egypt becomes the second FREMM export customer for DCNS following Morocco which commissioned the Mohammed VI frigate in 2014.

+Clavier35 They didn't refuse, it's French export regulations that prevented DCNS exporting sensitive weapons like the Jamming pods and the Sylver A70 vls launchers for the potent Scalp naval/land cruise missiles.
It's a bit of a shame to see this excellent frigate missing its front teeth :(
Who knows....maybe the Egyptians have a plan for the VLS space.... maybe the Russians or the Chinese be able to propose an alternative solution?
