Met Chrissey when she came to Australia and raced in the USA team in dirt speeway. I worked on my nephews sprintcar. As a big Dale Senior fan, Met Kerry and Kelley when they raced late models. Also spectator at the Coke 600. Great memories.

I bet I watch these, and listen to the 2 part DW interview podcast at least once a month. I haven't figured out why until just recently. Hey Junior... I just want to say thank you for doing what you do. I get so much joy listening to these old stories. Having done a little short track racing back in the day every episode takes me back to similar stories and characters in my own life. The names and the places might be different, but the stories always seem to remind me of someone I know or raced against. I just love listening/ watching these. Was never a NASCAR fan, but I was always a DW fan. His interviews were the best part of some races. I learned more about racing by accident listening to him than I ever did on purpose listening to other drivers.
@@joshjarnagin3161 I know that the opinion is that he should be giving back to fans, but as an old man towards the end of his run I’d do the same thing. You want me to make an appearance during the pandemic too? Double it 😂😂😂😂
I will always care and love DW. I never got to see him race in his heyday, but I grew to love him.. and Larry Mac! When DW speaks about anything and starts telling stories, I can see the emotion in his eyes. He’s animated about his stories and I love that quality in people. I’ve never had the chance to met him but I can tell that he is a really good person and most of all he cares about the sport. As a 12 year old boy in 2001, 6 months past my grandfathers death and watching my hero die.. it was easy for me to attach to someone like DW
So Darrell did talk to Dale on camera about the Richmond incident. It was the *Dale Earnhardt & DW interview done February 13th 2001* DW ask Dale “what scares you, or what are you afraid of?” Dale responded with “I’ve never been scared in a race car except for when I saw Tim Richmond coming up the track looking like he was gonna kill me at porcono! And when you and I got into at Richmond, I thought Stevie was gonna kill me!” Dale worded it in such a way he took responsibility for it. Dale wasn’t the type to just come out and say it directly because he was embarrassed he did that I’ve personally got into incidents on the track in my younger days. And it’s extremely embarrassing after the incident. But in a Dale type of way he admitted it was “him that tore the cars up, not Darrell” for some reason Dale was in a very good place and he matured a lot threw the 90s where he started dropping the baggage the last 2yrs of his life.
I was never a fan of DW but both Part 1 & Part 2 were the best interviews. I really had a number of laughs and appreciated the great stories. I'm looking forward to you having DW back again. Keep up the good work on the ole race tracks. Even us west coast Canadians like what you are doing. I'm a history buff as well on ranches here in British Columbia and Alberta.
The beauty and brilliance of a great interview/podcast is the ability to suck folks in and keep their attention, even when they have no clue or like of the subject. Although I loved NASCAR, you just can’t walk away from Jr’s podcasts and interview skills! He very well could be known as a skilled interviewer, as much as his racing career! And NOBODY can say BS that he was living off of his Dads name in this arena!
Man the memories are flooding back Pocono Mountain Speedway I believe it was 1984 1985 and 1986 I want to say it was called the Mountain Dew 500 we were in Infield all three years it was spectacular thank you DW God Rush Dale senior Neil Bonnett and Davey Allison
First time I went to Pocono was in the early 90s, saw Dale Sr. win both days races! Won the Busch race on Saturday! Never will forget those 2 days there, I still have a small notepad that I'd brought with me and took notes of the entire race of where Dale was and what was going on! Dale took it from Jeremy Mayfield in the last turn on the last lap! Went to see him at Bristol a year or two later and he crashed inside the first 50 laps and went back out just for the points, rode around the rest of that day with no fenders or hood on the car! It was all I could do to set there and watch the rest of that race, knowing Dale had no chance of ever winning, yet, I thought if Dale can get back out there and ride just for the points, I've got to stay and see him finish the race too!
I have a in person Dale Sr story I wish I cud share with Jr .Sr had alot of compassion for people.I met him at a dealership and his security would not let me close.but he saw I was curious and called me over and talk to me in the nicest way .I was not a Nascar fan til I met him !

@@joshjarnagin3161 Wow that sucks. He can’t give anything back to the sport they made him rich and famous? That’s really sad!
@@joshjarnagin3161 Seen him about 20 years ago. Can confirm the money thing.
@@joshjarnagin3161 I know that the opinion is that he should be giving back to fans, but as an old man towards the end of his run I’d do the same thing. You want me to make an appearance during the pandemic too? Double it 😂😂😂😂
Dw was great on this ! One of the best ones yet.
Absolutely love DW
I could listen to DW tell his stories for hours
Thank you Dale Jr. for your channel.
It was all I could do to set there and watch the rest of that race, knowing Dale had no chance of ever winning, yet, I thought if Dale can get back out there and ride just for the points, I've got to stay and see him finish the race too!
love the both of you drivers - both my 2 all-time favorites right here - DW and Dale Jr. what a fabulous episode.
I love all these stories. Jr is doing alright with these Podcast.
I loved sr, I loved Jeff. They were both awesome drivers. I loved watching it.
I have a in person Dale Sr story I wish I cud share with Jr .Sr had alot of compassion for people.I met him at a dealership and his security would not let me close.but he saw I was curious and called me over and talk to me in the nicest way .I was not a Nascar fan til I met him !
True friendship right there
Dale Sr. Was a savage and that's why I love him and always will
I love DW! He's got the best personality and spirit you could have in racing!!!
This is Priceless. Nothin' but Love.
Poor Darrell..he looked like he was about to cry..
He's an emotional guy. Part of his great character.
The thing that made dale so popular and a life long favorite and legend was he was so real about everything. He wasn’t there for just a show or to be a fake figure he was always real
these were so cool. DW was tuff as pig iron in his day...he was a pleasure to watch race then and to watch now.. great stories
One of your best videos ! DW keeps me wanting more of his stories👍🏼
