Great video!. There are a lot of tool who are a little bit complex on openfoam and sometimes its difficult to fully undestand how to use it, so this kind of help is really usefull. Thanks!
@@HolzmannCFD This would be really useful to know how to use setSet and topoSet from STL file to define cells inside of the STL mesh boundary. Especially for setting and adding a source terms in fvOptions on specific cells in the mesh. Look forward to the tutorial ;)
first of all, thank you sir for such a nice video. I had one query. I am working on a project where in the mesh domain, there are two zones say: A and B. I have to solve (1) equation_1==0; for zone A and (2) equation_2== source_term; for zone B. How to implement it at the solver level. In simple words, I don't want to do anything with creating interface boundary condition or something, I just want to solve the system of equations with conditional zones specified in the solver itself. I don't know how to do that. Please enlighten me, it will be a great help...Thanks
Hi Tobias, thanks for the explanation. I want automate the entire process from mesh generation to submitting the job using bash script but if I use setSet in the script it quasi opens like a terminal and the next commands aren’t executed. Do you have an idea how to run setSet followed by cellZoneSet command using bash?
Hello Tobias, first of all thank you for these great content i have learnt a lot from you and Jozsef Nagy. I have a question but maybe little complicated to be explained on here, still i will try. I am trying to create CHT case, and as you show in video i have managed to seperate my mesh in 2 cellZones. -I used STL files (i named them on Blender) where all my boundaries (inlet, outlet, sides, fins, and heater) are described in seperate STL files. -I need to define one face of my "fins" geometry as my another boundary. However if i seperate that face on blender, my fins STL will no longer be a closed surface which means on snappyHexMeshDict, i won't be able to define region inside as my cellZone. How can i create boundary on my "fins" geometry with out seperating that face from it. Thanks in advance.
Thank you Tobias for your great work. Actually, I am following your work on your website, cfd forum and here on youtube. It really helps me a lot to resolve my problems on OpenFOAM. I have a question regarding multiregion meshing. I have seen your tutorial on your website for three water pipe. I have a similar geometry but with 84 pipes (not connected with each other) enclosed in a channel. I want to do meshing for all pipes and external channel. I know I can define through stl in snappyhexmesh and using cellSet and cellZone I can do meshing. But it is highly inefficient and prone to error to define everypipe with separate stl file. Is there any other way of doing its meshing using openFOAM without defining every pipe with separate stll file. ps: At the moment all the pipes have been defined with a single stl file. Later on in simulation, I want to use every pipe as a heat source. Thanks
Yes sure but only if you develop your own script/pre-processor which takes all the workload and fills in the correct data to the responsible files. Thanks for your valuable reply and fruits. Its good to know that my "old" material still helps people.
A lot of knowledge in just one video.. But one thing I want to say is that If you are making videos for teaching purpose, then please try to lower your speed. Not everyone who is watching this video has so much practice as yours to use this software. Of course, this is not the OpenFoam beginners tutorial series, but with such an operating speed, I could barely manage to see what you are doing. Our purpose of watching such videos is to learn new things, NOT to appreciate your Speed. Please don't get offended, but this is what I realized. Thank you.
Dude, you're too fast explaining. Alright, you've convinced me that you're the best of the best in CFD and can type as fast as a bullet. However, please explain what command you use and the code you change. The only explanation I've heard was 'You do the following, then the following, etc."
Hi tobiaz!
I really appreciate all of ur work but u havn't been uploqding lately.
It would be great if you continue this good work.
Thnx
dr. dr. did you watch platform?

Great tutorial! Thank you Dr. Holzmann.
You are welcome
Hi Tobias!
can we create the same cellZones using topoSet ?
Or course.
nice video, do you have another video for using toposet from STL file ??
Hi Zein, Have you found any? I need to learn that desperately.
A good one. I will create one

insted of boxToCell if I want to write pointToFace how would I write it?

Yes. Use topoSet and put everything in the topoSetDict. TopoSet is an equivalent to setSet but has way more options and is not terminal based.
@@HolzmannCFD thanks. :)
Another way is to use setSet with -batch option so “setSet -batch (file with all the commands)“.
Yes but topoSet is more powerful @@pawansrinivasamurthy100
