I’ve been playing Starmie Ex/ Gyarados Ex and been munching on the Blaine and Celebi. Interestingly it beats Mewtwo and Pikachu too…. Have I hit on a good meta deck? 🤔
Favorite deck by FAR has been 2 Mythical Slab, 2 Alakazam, 2 Beheeyem, 1 Porygon. Porygon guarantees Slab successes instead of gambling and potentially banishing key cards; Beheeyem punishes bench-heavy decks like Serperior and Pikachu EX with its fantastic 1 Energy cost; and Alakazam brutalizes energy-hungry decks like Misty (and Serperior again). If the opponent doesn't bench much to avoid powering Beheeyem? That just makes them more vulnerable to Sabrina in the lategame. VERY methodical strategy deck, not a simple autopilot but it's super satisfying to arrange all your pieces and checkmate the opponent. Can brick early if you get stuck with just Abra, but I've managed to outmaneuver and score wins off every meta deck a couple times, and I'm at 25 wins in the event so far!
I always thought porygon was a cool card but im so glad we actually have a reason to use now. Been using it in my mewtwo deck and honestly i think its very good. Cant wait to try gengarEX with it and this alakazam deck. Thx for sharing
idk if it's considered meta, but i really love the scolipede deck so far! i've played it a bunch and it seems that many of my opponents just concede after a bit of playing against it. super fun to play and doesn't rely much at all on coinflips or randomness!

The only thing holding Blaine decks back is the energy consumption. And if Celebi decks are running Leaf cards, they can preserve their Celebi or Serperior with a sack card, and answer back with only needing two heads for Rapidash, Magmar, and Ninetales. Its definitely the best answer to Celebi Ex and Serperior decks, but that deck is so oppresive, youre going to need to play your cards right. Scolipede weezing deck. It does 120 damage if the opponents active pokemon is poisoned. Can one shot Mew ex with poison, can almost one shot Mewtwo ex with poison but still gets Mewtwo ex with poison (Because Mew ex and Mewtwo have a dark weakness.)
I don't feel like you need two Leafs. The only card with more than a 1 retreat cost is Magmar so you're probably better off having either one Leaf and one X-Speed or just run two X-Speeds. That way you can ease the retreat cost and use Blaine on the same turn for another card as opposed to using Leaf who's a support card and not an item.
I've been running into a lot more Gyarados decks for this event so I decided to try a Lumineon deck because I thought it was a super underrated card and wow, wow, wow did I have fun with it! I played around with different variations and the one I liked most was a Lumineon / Articuno variant with one Vaporeon line. They synergize surprisingly well! Quick question about the Leafs in this deck; are they solely for getting magmar out? I tried running them when the set came out, and they always felt a bit underwhelming and potentially bad when the deck is already very supporter hungry.
@ZentoPlays the deck would be unplayable without the leafs to pull out Magmar, but honestly you're better off not running Magmatic and just switching the new rapidssg line into the old meta blaine deck
I’ve been playing molt ex, Magmar 16 trainers. Blaine in there of course. I tried playing with all the meta decks but I’ve found the most success here.

New favorite deck now is 2x Pidgeot EX, 2x Sigilyph, 1x elgeim and beheeyem. Draw power in deck gets you pieces real quick and gio/sabrina into a flute one shots most meta decks pretty consistently
I played a deck that was basically this minus Rapidash but + Moltress. Kind of acts like budget Charizard without needing to rely on evolution drawing.
I'm playing Blaine but I still focus on the old Rapidash and Ponyta I hate coin tosses plus I like cheaper energy plus that whole u want this Rapidash if going first or this one when going second I wouldn't have the right one for the right situation if I used that approach but I did sub out old Magmar for new just to have that extra option to OHKO CelebiEX
After my testing, I really liked new ponyta with old rapidash. Old rapidash makes it so you still have that turn 3 attack when you go first, and new ponyta can push into actually knocking out 60hp grass basics (or 70 with Giovanni, notably sniping basics like bulbasaur) where old ponyta can’t. Even if you don’t like coin flips, at the very least new ponyta is just a clear upgrade in terms of what it can actually ohko if you don’t have the rapidash ready.
old rapidash with blaine is must have and you take the gamble only with the new ponyta.Playing blaine you need to be fast actually so 2 energy for new rapi when you already need 2 for ninetales(and one every single round) just no.
I haven't lost a battle since I swapped over to a Pikachu deck. Mixed vivid voltage and surging sparks. The ex can one shot just about any pokemon & it can't be killed via the 1st attack. Then you use a tool/trainer/etc to put that ex back in your hand so it resets the effect. Rinse & repeat.

Wheezing/Scolipede and Druddigon/Pidgeot EX have been my favorite decks so far. Serperior/New Execuggtor is more fun than with Celebi but I can't deny getting an uber powered celebi and flipping 10+ coins is satisfying
I’m unsure how I feel about the new Rapidash card. On one hand, it’s more powerful (or at least has a chance to) but on the other hand it’s heavily reliant on you getting the second turn. If we got to attach energy on the first turn, it would be much better, but I would stick to OG Rapidash if I were you.
Great video, love your videos, trying to learn how to make decks and playing this game a bunch. You should give the new Dragonite a run, it’s so much fun and I went on a 10 game winning streak with it

I’ve been using this deck since the update like in almost done the 45 win challenge because the games end so fast with celebi oneshot I much rather this deck than celebi itself new rapidash is so good + fun
Just trashed 8 celebi teams on the go. It just takes 6 turns and once you defeat one celebi they concede. New Magmar and New Rapidash were specifically added to Mythical Island set to counter celebi. Ninetails is as usual the OG 140 Atk Sureshot KO
MuMuPlayer12 is the one i found, but I personally just lean towards the phone at that point. It's cancer to play on that for some reason, might be my laptop.
I think you need those XSpeeds. 1 Magmar. 1 Laaf and 1 Pokeball removed for 2 XSpeed, and 2nd Sabrina. I can see 2nd pokeball staying but as nice as a consistent LEaf would be, you also want to use other Supporters most turns so XSpeed is better when Magmar isn't coming back.
I've been running a fighting deck against everyone's better judgement. 2x nu-mankey, 2x nu-primeape, 1x marshadow, 1x aerodactyl, 1x aerodactyl ex, 1x stonjourner, 2x old amber, 2x poke ball, 2x xspeed, 2x prof, 2x gio, 2x sabrina. Similar to a blaine deck without blaine. Mankey/Primeape doing 50 damage on turn 1 puts down tons of pressure, and marshadow or aerodactyl ex comes in to finish the EX when the primeape falls. Stonjourner and aerodactyl (base) provide some sabrina protection since I needed to run pokemon with more than 80hp. Believe it or not this deck actually does better against Mewtwo or Celebi than it does against Pikachu.
@@DoctorChuck this sounds fun, I've been doing a classic golem/onix Brock deck with two Mew EXs to stall against celebi decks to get golem running. have a really good win rate so far but i want to try to make marshadow work as well, gonna try yours!
Sadly i think the old Blaine Deck is 10 times better then this version. You always need to much energy and magmar is not my favorite. I think Blaine Decks have a lot Potential but not with this magmar. But at the end i enjoyed that Video Thanks! 😊
I tried running a single magmar without Leaf, and I think it's fine solely due to celebi decks being around. But having him stuck in active slot after an attack makes me wish i was running farfetchd instead.
I have been running a Brock deck and doing very well despite a type disadvantage against you-know-what. Old Geodudes, new Gravelers, one of each Golem for choices, two Onix. Two potions, two poke balls, two prof research, a Sabrina you know. Two Brocks duh. Then two Giovanis so that new Golem can OHKO Celebi and a few other EX mons, so that Onix can THKO something like Mewtwo, or so that old Golem can OHKO EX Egg. Very fun.
You probably are better off with 1 leaf and 1 x speed, so you can combine a free retreat with a blaine burst. only magmar has a 2 retreat cost and the rest doesnt really benefit from the 2 retreat cost at all.
I'd swap the 2x Magmar with Eevee + Flareon, otherwise this is my deck to outpace Celebi ex. New Rapidash potentially dealing 150 (40+60+20 weakness+30 blaine) damage to Celebi ex is definitely something.
I do feel 1 new and 1 old Rapidash is good in Blaine, though I'm still trying to figure out the other cards for Blaine since there's so many ways to build him now
1 new 1 old is great because it gives flexibility in terms of energy cost but keeps the consistency of being the same evolution line. It's more or less like playing marowak ex + regular and adapting
X speed works better for this deck imo. The only 2 retreat cost is magmar, you still can retreat with X speed+energy. You can't leaf+blaine/gio..., you can X-speed+blaine/gio which I think is game winning
I've removed Magmar and Leaf. It's better to get more consistency with Ninetales and Rapidash. 2 new Rapidash is probably better than one of each. This deck really hurts when you can't get the 2nd energy on Rapidash because you are replenishing Ninetales all the time but it is so important to get that stronger Rapidash more easily available. Replace those 4 cards with 2 XSpeeds and another Sabrina IMO. the 4th card is either a 2nd Giovanni, a potion, or a Blue.
@@AndreaGalletti2991 Agree. Moltres is for the slower pace but hit extremely hard fire deck. That alone already opposes the philosophy of Blaine fire deck, speed, speed, speed
If you _really_ wanna use Magmar, just use one and add a second Giovanni. I still think Farfetch'd is better in every other matchup, and even against Celebi that early 40 dmg puts it at range from Ninetales and Rapidash on Heads without slowing down the deck. X-Speed is also enough for free Retreat and doesn't mess with Blaine nor Giovanni. Funny enough, despite the type disadvantage, this deck also has a favorable matchup against Gyarados, which seems to be the new strongest deck in the meta right now.
I was that person using Celebi EX ×2 with Superior. Until everyone started using it. Then I became determined. I have been decimating Celebi with my Charizard deck. If anyone is interested- MOLTREX EX ×2 / CHARIZARD EX / Charmeleon / Charmander x2 / Ponyta / Rapidash - TRAINERS (Obviois ones) Sabrina ×2 / Pokeball ×2 / Draw 2 x2 / potion x2 / retreat x2 / Double Retreat / +10 damage !! - If you have okay luck with Moltres EX build Charmander until full Zard Evo... Build Moltres EX to energy ×3 to attack. Retreat back and forth with other Moltres with one energy using trainers. Put Zard in and go to work. I win 7 out of 10 times with this deck.
@@moonblastx1996 I only thought about the new EXs, you are so right I didn't even consider Druddigon and Tauros🤦 Thanks for clearing that up, I was too quick commenting when really I should have thought about it some more
@@MrRiverJude That seems very specific and Mewtwo dies to Ninetales in 2 turns anyways, even with potion and without Blaine or Giovanni But the other guy already schooled me, I get it, it makes sense to carry Gio👍
This new set adds some cards, but it adds more coin flipping. I hate the mechanics of flipping a lot of coins, if you win the game, they won the game, if you lose, you were unlucky with them. Misty end Celebi are cards that don't bring me any fun, even though I got 3 Celebi, I don't play with them. But I loved the new Eevee, for some reason, those coins don't bother me. Misty breaks the energy mechanic (especially turn 1), Celebi is a lazy game (you add everything to it to get more and more heads because you can't trust that you'll get enough heads). My main deck hasn't changed yet, I tried putting 1 Mew Ex, but I feel like it only got worse. Some plays with Mew and Budding Expeditioner were cool but that's it.
I'll leave the list here, if anyone can improve it and tell me what they did, I'd appreciate it. 2x Cubone 2x Maroak Ex 2x Mankey promo 2x Primeape 2x Hitmonlee 2x Pokeball 2x Professors 2x X Speed 2x Sabrina 2x Giovanni I recently traded 1 Giovanni for 1 Poke Flute. Maybe a Pokemon with 30 HP for Hitmonlee to hit will win the game.
I like the new Rapidash, but I prefer the consistency of old Ponyta. Guaranteed 20 damage is better than coin flip where I’ll only do 10 on tails. New Rapidash is all upside though because its floor is the same as old Rapidash. New Magmar is a waste honestly. I’d rather run one old Magmar as a something I can use if I can’t get Ninetails going
I run just ninetails and dash and I already got the 45 wins 😂 and only lost once to a mewtwo deck since the deck is focus on just them 2 I set up super fast note I lost a bunch of times but I’ve battled like 12 mewtwo deck and only lost once
I prefer old Ninetales deck tbh, faster, more reliable, Ninetales still oneshots Celebi and can attack the turn after. I also don't enjoy the new Rapidash too much, I have Ninetales if I have time, Rapidash if I need speed :V
Naw I’ve been playing Blaine for awhile now and tbh the new magmar is mid at best. Never really play him. Just play ninetales and new Rapidash. To me the old Rapidash just isn’t worth it bc the cost of one extra energy for a potential 60 more damage is totally worth it.
The fancy fire deck sounds good, but nooooooo one is talking about an Alakazam and Jynx. I just hit 190 to a Celebi that had 4 energies plus the Serperior ability(8 energies) with my Jynx.. the dude Conceded.
Ah, I love the Pokémon community.. always getting bent out of shape over *some* new card/mon/mechanic, to the point they act like it's the single most OP thing In any PKMN game... When in reality, they just haven't figured out how to deal with it yet! 😂 Celebi is easily countered in many ways, y'all are just mad YOUR BS strategy isn't as strong lmao.
@shamilton1990 Meh, Celebi is good but like you said isn't nothing too crazy. Tbh I'm still more annoyed of literally any player that runs a water deck, pops a Misty turn 1 and gets like more than 2 water energy or something. Cause 9/10 times if that happens you just automatically lose. There's still basically no counterplay to it.
Celebi is really only countered "easily" with RNG and aggro Blaine decks. The thing with Celebi decks rn is that people are still experimenting with it, similar to Mew EX. Honestly, the time needed to get to serperior is the only reason even Blaine decks stop it. If you could immediately evolve to serperior then it's gg.
@@FateTearsStudios but it's the same with almost any other deck. Whoever sets up first wins. That's just Pokémon TCG in general. The game just needs more time and more new trainers/supporters to help counter faster playing decks.

Just trashed 8 celebi teams on the go. It just takes 6 turns and once you defeat one celebi they concede. New Magmar and New Rapidash were specifically added to Mythical Island set to counter celebi. Ninetails is as usual the OG 140 Atk Sureshot KO
I have been using this deck except its just Rapidash, Ninetales, and a Mew EX just in case. I have never lost against Celebis
Fire is strong against grass, in other news, water is strong against fire
How do you play pokemon tcgp on pc like you are in this vid? Been seeing a lot of people do it but havent seen a way to
MuMuPlayer12 is the one i found, but I personally just lean towards the phone at that point. It's cancer to play on that for some reason, might be my laptop.
Favorite deck is Scolipede and Weezing!! So much fun
This time almost every single person has a crown rare mew ex.
I like all the Blaine believers always coming out of the desert to spread "the word"
Super respect them for that 💙
I do feel 1 new and 1 old Rapidash is good in Blaine, though I'm still trying to figure out the other cards for Blaine since there's so many ways to build him now
1 new 1 old is great because it gives flexibility in terms of energy cost but keeps the consistency of being the same evolution line. It's more or less like playing marowak ex + regular and adapting
This is an awesome deck for it. Myself I'm rocking an Alakazam/Mew deck that's working ok. Still trying to find the right balance.
Why dont use your phone as camera?
Dark and steel decks need some love. I like the dark decks but they just don't stand up to the meta.
I prefer moltres ex over magmar but otherwise this is very close to the deck I play and it has my best win rate
Moltres is kinda slow unless you are using arcanine
Tyranitar could be the EX dark type decks need.
I don’t understand that Magmar, wouldn’t be better a Moltres or an extra potion?
@@vergozero9806 2 energy for 80 as a BASIC is pretty great, upwards of 130 damage with blaine + weakness too
I was that person using Celebi EX ×2 with Superior.
I've seen using your Pidgeot Ex deck in your last video and I've been destroying people with it..
Does Giovanni let you hit any super important breakpoints? I feel like 2 Sabrinas could be better
of course it does. you don't have to waste Blaine on Ninetales to take down 100 HP targets such as Druddigon, Tauros or Kangaskhan
For example Giovanni puts Mewtwo-ex in range for Ninetails w/ Blaine after 1 potion
@@moonblastx1996 I only thought about the new EXs, you are so right I didn't even consider Druddigon and Tauros🤦
Thanks for clearing that up, I was too quick commenting when really I should have thought about it some more
@@MrRiverJude That seems very specific and Mewtwo dies to Ninetales in 2 turns anyways, even with potion and without Blaine or Giovanni
But the other guy already schooled me, I get it, it makes sense to carry Gio👍
@@MukEnjoyer it's important to ask things to learn
New serperior is just unfair. It nullifying Sabrina's defense effect.
Ttar ex would amazing
Countering the new anti-meta meta by just going back to my original Starmie deck, lol. Had some fun games with a variation of this fire deck though!
2x Cubone
2x Maroak Ex
2x Mankey promo
2x Primeape
2x Hitmonlee
2x Pokeball
2x Professors
2x X Speed
2x Sabrina
2x Giovanni
I recently traded 1 Giovanni for 1 Poke Flute.
Maybe a Pokemon with 30 HP for Hitmonlee to hit will win the game.
Does anyone know a good date to start the free trial so you could claim rewards for both the month of December and January
6:27 Hence why many bland games don’t care to upgrade their games.
Celebi is not a problem right now. It's really inconsistent and too much gambling. I think that Gyarados is yhe major treat
Aerodactyl to make opponent unable to evolve serperior
That only works IF Snivy is on their active spot. Primordial Law doesnt work if the pokemon is benched
Stop talking about Aero ex 's trash ability. Aero ex is all about two energy aggro just like Pika ex / Starmie ex.
I like the new Rapidash, but I prefer the consistency of old Ponyta. Guaranteed 20 damage is better than coin flip where I’ll only do 10 on tails. New Rapidash is all upside though because its floor is the same as old Rapidash. New Magmar is a waste honestly. I’d rather run one old Magmar as a something I can use if I can’t get Ninetails going
damn it, i've been using this for 3-4 days now everyone will use it..
Magma was great against the ai too.
Celebi ex is op 50 win just in 1 day is crazy and this new Blaine is the only time i lose
Miss the stache lol we need a web cam !!!
@@elidiaz9980 yeah we do, we need the stache
i put druddigon in my deck to stall
I run just ninetails and dash and I already got the 45 wins 😂 and only lost once to a mewtwo deck since the deck is focus on just them 2 I set up super fast note I lost a bunch of times but I’ve battled like 12 mewtwo deck and only lost once
nobody talking about jinx super strong against celebi decks lol
I've found very little success running this deck even against Celebi. The dark deck or no EX tauros deck has been better for me.
Just realized BLUE is really impactful for the Celebi player against Blaine
Very true
Is it? Ninetales with Blaine still ones even with blue. So does new rapidash on heads.
Dude speaks as if he can chose which Pokemon evolutions he draw if he draws them at all
The screen is too small
I prefer old Ninetales deck tbh, faster, more reliable, Ninetales still oneshots Celebi and can attack the turn after. I also don't enjoy the new Rapidash too much, I have Ninetales if I have time, Rapidash if I need speed :V
I can totally see Blaine deck separate the higher skill level players, & the unga bunga clueless players.
Too much energy needed in this deck, you shouldn’t play ninetails and the new Magmar in the same deck. get rid of the Magmar and add one Kanga
You don't need Alakazam when you have can use a single Mew.. much quicker than evolving to a stage 2
@@brunokingz does Mew attack with the number of energy attached to Celebi?
Yea I hate Blaine decks.
This is gonna get rough if it gets more traction.
Early bois where y'all at?
Here brother
We rise
Tauros over Magmar honestly
Hentai, best legendary dog
W content
This build ain't it, moltres, new mag and ninetails is crazy
Ah, I love the Pokémon community.. always getting bent out of shape over *some* new card/mon/mechanic, to the point they act like it's the single most OP thing In any PKMN game... When in reality, they just haven't figured out how to deal with it yet! 😂
Celebi is easily countered in many ways, y'all are just mad YOUR BS strategy isn't as strong lmao.
