Fantastic! Your approach to electronic elements shows what a great musician (and you are for sure!) is all about. Being open minded and absorbing inspiration from different sources.Thank you for being such an inspiring musician.
All he says is basically advertising of certain products. I very much love his very early works, somehow the more "classical". They were very inspired compositions with very basic instrumental resources, and the whole essence of the music was based on the composition itself. Then he started to use a lot of electronics, but they just add a very decorative touch, purely atmospheric, not really part of the composition (something good to catch the big masses, but very plain for people who are into composition), and so his works started to sound all the time the same, and really similar to the music of other composers who use electronics. They call all that electronic stuff "experimental", but it all sounds very homogeneous. I love electronics, but it seems they homogenize and un-personalize creativeness. Nowadays it is very hard to differ all these neo-classical composers, they all sound like they are playing the very same song all the time. When Richter only used some strings and the piano, his personality and essence was more richly and fully expressed in the music, and way more developed in a substantial way. Not good to use tons of sound resources just for the sake of using them. That tricks to the general audience, and it is good for commercial purposes. But it is a pity that Richter, being such a great musician, instead of giving great compositions for posterity, he is just selling all these "decorative" recordings.
You must all see him perform live if you get the chance! :) Fantastic composer.
finally a serious and real musician on the NI channel and not the usual techno producer.... inspiring !
