Tsugaru folk songs are generally not played on the Hosozao... The Hosozao is usually classified as a Jiuta. Jiuta is a form of classical Japanese music that uses the Hosozao. The way to play the thin-necked shamisen and the Tsugaru shamisen (mainly the way to move the right hand) is completely different. Also, Tsugaru folk songs are completely different from Jiuta and are not delicate music. Therefore, there is no one who plays Tsugaru folk songs on the Hosozao-Shamisen.
