Try not to ignore that Nicki's grammy performance received backlash for good reason. Right after Whitney Houston's unexpected death, while people were still emotional about it, Nicki somehow found it appropriate to act out dying on stage and becoming possessed. It was horribly distasteful, nobody remembers it because it sucked, and it isn't rewatchable. It doesn't justify them blackballing her and denying her the meaningless award, but it feels like a detail that shouldn't be neglected in the story since the horrendous performance is where this all started.
Why would they wait until the last minute to tell her though? Its like if you were about to launch a product and the company supports your work up until the last minute - that’s foul on their part. And yes, her Grammy performance was a hot mess but the Grammys didn’t tell her until like a minute or so before she was gonna perform to stop. It was a lose/lose situation either way.
My thoughts at the end of all this: Understand that just because you are talented and skilled doesn't mean that others will recognize said skill and talent in the manner of which they really should. Nicki is an undeniable talent but by now she should understand that the powers that be with the Grammys specifically don't eff with her. My mama taught me a long time ago "Go for who goes for you!" If the Grammys don't want you, girl why fight so hard to get one. You have broken records and sold them as well at a rate that other female rappers haven't. So an external validation of this one award shouldn't keep you this pressed for so long. When you realized 10 years ago and since then they haven't rocked with you, then you should've returned the "eff you" back to them. Now you look hurt, bitter, & ridiculous going back and forth with these newer artists and it keeps going. & the way that you go back and forth makes you look like if they don't move, do, and say everything in the manner and time in which you feel they should that you will talk crazy to and about them. I don't agree with leaking info but if MULTIPLE folks have said she moves shady behind closed doors, then you probably would record her conversation too. So I want her to leave this Grammy mess and the drama alone, because it is making me so not wanting to even listen to the art for all the mess blocking it. All parties involved must do better!

Nicki's perspective makes sense to me regarding the Grammys. Latto asked her to not mention her name or song title to prove her point but in countless interviews; however, Latto mentioned Nicki. Nicki is neither jealous nor bitter about these new female rappers. Whenever they wanted to boost their popularity, they used her as a feature.

Here's the thing, the grammys are very aware Nicki unfollowed latto. So by removing SFG, and not BE, especially when they both give pop was definitely messed up. Nicki wasn't coming for latto, she was addressing the GRAMMYS. As to why they removed her song and not BE when it's the same genre. She spoke about BE because it was the ONLY song in the catagory which was the same pop feel as SFG. So it's why she used that song as her reference. I think the industry is always gonna try to make sure female artist have beef with Nicki and vice versa. That's the thing. Nicky Minaj has become powerful enough in the industry not to allow award shows like the Grammy's to define her career or need their validation. When I first heard news of the Latto twitter spat my 1st thought was "Don't do it, Nicky. It just ain't worth it".
I think Nicki showed the text cause she felt like the nerve you got mentioning my name every chance you get to get points with the barbs yet you don’t want me to speak about your song. This is my opinion on why Nicki is feeling the way she is. She shows how these female rappers hit her up for a feature. They speak on her in interviews. They say she’s their idol. They say all these things abt her. When Nicki wants her credit in a way that seems GENUINE, everyone is ghost. She loves Wayne and Drake cus they constantly speak up abt her mistreatment in the industry. This is a prime example. Latto speaking on her, asking for a collab but when Nicki talks abt the obvious strategic planning going on to snub her, she wants to these female rappers to speak up to show their true loyalty but they don’t. But she gets confused and pissed cus it was just “your my idol. You’re my dream collab”, and then why it’s time to uplift and not benefit, they’re silent. That’s why Nicki be mad. She says all the time how Lauryn Hill is her TRUE idol and she would never treat her like how she’s treated. But at the same time, she should know how the game goes. Try not to ignore that Nicki's grammy performance received backlash for good reason. Right after Whitney Houston's unexpected death, while people were still emotional about it, Nicki somehow found it appropriate to act out dying on stage and becoming possessed. It was horribly distasteful, nobody remembers it because it sucked, and it isn't rewatchable. It doesn't justify them blackballing her and denying her the meaningless award, but it feels like a detail that shouldn't be neglected in the story since the horrendous performance is where this all started.
Why would they wait until the last minute to tell her though? Its like if you were about to launch a product and the company supports your work up until the last minute - that’s foul on their part.
