Talk to horses the same way you do people. Most are smarter. Watch their ears. A true sign of their mood and feelings. 🐴👍
We tried the talking, I think the horse just liked watching tourists squeeze around 😂
LOL 11:48 - Daddy take screwdriver, Charlie bite Gerry! Great video capturing the magic of the island. It's crazy to think those armadillos, glorified walnuts with legs, could swim there. I have respect for them and I'm glad Morty didn't do what my pups do, rolling in horse manure... what a good baby! Looking forward to the LUST vs GLEAM challenge. I love to varnish, there's something really Zen about making beautiful wood durable and shiny!
It’s been many months and both of them are still holding up beautifully!
Lust on the Port Side is a song waiting to be written
Great watching 2nd time around, horses 🐎 😀
Love the kids' new pirate shirts!
Hehe we had to 😎
I got to visit that island, just put it on my bucket list. I love horses , I use to have my own years ago.
They are so beautiful! We loved that island. It was definitely a highlight of our ICW travels
Love the new pirate jackets! 😀
☠️☠️😊
Horse seen was so funny. Love your videos, music, peaceful life, you guys have your own special magic different from my other cruisers I watch. Amazing the world adventures you have had on your little boat, love you guys ❤️♥️⛵
Oh thank you so much! 🥰
Pretty cool place out there! Glad to see you both had a chance to go ashore and check it out. Thanks for another cool video!⚓⛵
Nice vid. Hope you’re all doing great!
Herbie, you are a world of knowledge....learn alot from you!! 😉🤗👍. Also do you think the birds are more work then kiddos.. lol
Yeah…in many ways they are. The big thing is that we can’t leave them with a babysitter haha
Wow, what a cool location, the horses have me wanting to go there, sorry Herbee, your walk with the family breathtaking. They really enjoy your adventures. I have to remind myself, yes, time is on your side to do these projects. TY for a fabulous video
Oh the tease, I am now captured by the Lust on the port side and must wait for the next episode to hopefully reach a climax of satisfaction 😉 you guys are too much fun...thank you
Stopped by here on my trip up the coast. Was told the same by others:" you have to stop at Cumberland". Well worth the trip.
Smart reaction on Morty's part. When you see an unidentified army tank, back away!
So glad you visited my happy place.
It was so much fun there
Just an FYI .. Horses don't eat other animals they are a herbivore. They like baby carrots and sugar cubes, however they really love apples. All you have to do is keep the palm of your hand perfectly flat so that you don't accidentally get nipped. You feed a horse apples and they will be your best friends.... ⛵💯❤️
Haha yes we know they’re herbivores. We were afraid of hawks and other birds of prey eating the birds :)
A sweet video. So good to see Morty back on board, we love Morty! 💚❤💙
He loved Cumberland Island! But he also loved chasing the armadillos so that was a problem…😅
The places we get to few others see. The horse may have been waiting for the unusual sight of bipeds with parrots crossing, ‘if I wait quietly I won’t spook them’. I grew up with horses liking me, just respect no fear. More Armadillos than I recall in Arizona, fun.
Still considering to paint the teak cap rail or paint like the rub rail. I will watch how these TB products perform. The last California ‘sanding sealer’ was a useless joke as many of the replacement products are.
I bet y'all didn't think about the gators in that swamp water, did ya? LOL
We have been on gator lookout since Florida! They live all the way up the coast and have been found in the Chesapeake Bay!!
those horses are probably pretty tame. as in if you had apples with you, you could get them to feed out of your hand. lovely looking place.
did you ever produce a video on those rope fenders? i looked briefly but didn't see any mention on your home page.
We made them long before we were filming but we will be making a set for our other boat and when we do we will film the entire process!
@@RiggingDoctor other BOAT! what bleeping other BOAT! :-))
Armadillo's are known to carry leprosy, horses don't. We have both on our Texas ranch. Was surprised to see Appaloosa's in GA.
Yes, thankfully these did not because they were so isolated. We were surprised too!
Just an additional comment of interest, that mansion you saw was where the Federal Reserve Bank was created by wealthy tycoons of the day. If you’re interested in such things, check out the book “Creature from Jekyll Island” by G. Edward Griffin. Dense reading, I never made it through the whole thing, but an eye opening read.
It’s amazing how the most impactful history occurred in the most remote locations.
👍👍👍
Years ago we went someplace along the Atlantic coast that had wild horses. I’m sure if I stopped and thought about it I could tell you the name of the place but it was simply amazing thanks for bringing us along.
Ocracoke Island has wild horses.🐴
@@nooneanybodyknows1321 I had to look it up it was at least 20 years ago. The name of the park we went to was called Assateague.
Yes I remember hearing about that one growing up. Chincoteague also had wild horses. There was a popular children’s chapter book series in the 90s called Misty of Chincoteague that I read -M
@@cz_ww2117 Yes, there is a beautiful beach that you can drive to. I drove my vehicle on the beach and fishermen fished from the shoreline. Ocracoke is a must-see, only reachable by ferry. There are also wild horses at a nearby beach in Cape Hatteras in Corolla. The Outer Banks has several wild horse sightseeing adventures and gorgeous beaches where the horses roam freely.
We’re sad we had to skip Ocracoke, but we had to leave SOMETHING exciting to do when we come back 😊
I think the real question is: could the wild horses drag you away?
I have been using Total Boat Halcyon, and it has held up well. It comes in bags, so you can squeeze out the air when you close it up. I did have one bag puncture, so I'm being more gentle with it now.
Great to know that another one of their products holds up to time! Bags do sounds nice, thinking of the benefits of bag wine applied to varnish.
It seems to be a common issue: getting propane.
Could you all do an quick how to about your alcohol stove. I understand if you dont know them well they are dangerous. How to fill, how much to fill, how to store without the problematic spilling.
Seems like alcohol is the only answer for us old fashioned non big battery bank folks.
My boat is an endeavor 32.
That’s a great topic for a video!
I would love to see how you manage two macaws on your boat !
It’s an adventure in itself!
Very awesome, you all made me think about visiting Cumberland Island. Do you think a 4foot drift would work better in the shols
Oh yes. 4 foot draft would definitely be better. But there are still areas to watch out for!
😊👍❤
No submarine sightings? That's also Kings Bay Navy Base. Been there many times, every once in a while you'll see a sub coming or going.
We did see one and it was soooo cool! But we asked a navy friend and he said we’d better not include the footage
Armadillos are possum on the half shell. Enjoy you guys.
😂
Y’all still in North Carolina?
We just got to the Chesapeake
Sorry I missed you guys. I sail the western albemarle sound around Mackey’s and Edenton. Glad to hear you are safe near home. Really enjoy you adventures.
👍👍👍🇺🇸
If Andrew Carnegie were alive today he'd be the richest person alive by a lot. He's not the richest in history but he's up there. Those horses must be use to humans, they were pretty chill. But I'd be nervous too..but not as much as I used to be since I helped my father-in-law on his farm, damn cow bit me lol
Ever since you complained about having to use click-bait-y titles "to get them clicks" a year ago, I feel bad about clicking in to watch the videos with the slightly, uh, "blue" titles, even though I'm truly watching it for the content. ... Which feels like I'm claiming that I'm only reading it for the articles! 😜🤣
Haha!
We came up with the title since we painted LUST on the port side and GLEAM on the starboard side
09:55 What is your boarding ladder situation? I would like to rig, and/or diy build, a sturdy boarding ladder that also doubles as dock steps for marina slip use. Stowing a boarding ladder when sailing is also a consideration, so the steps need to be easily unriggable. If I can get something going then I can get rid of my huge "Taylor Made" polyethelene dock steps.
We don’t have one for the very reason that we had nowhere to stow it. When we swim off the boat, we climb up into the dinghy and then get in. If we are in a situation where it would be bad to fall in, we clip in. It’s not ideal
@@RiggingDoctor If you make a rigging video about a boarding ladder it seems you would be the only one on all of youtube or maybe the entirety of the internets. $$$
Did you try the water at the Fountain of Youth in St Augustine? Yes, the water tastes awful
Isn't that how you know the medicine works - it needs a spoonful of sugar?
Haha we did not.
:)
Don't see a link to the water filter...?
It’s in the description under “Products tested”
maybe un-requited lust?
I will say, it does make you Lust over the bright work 😂
Un-requited because you didn’t actually get it done in this episode
Tall person problems huh? I wouldn't know anything about that 🙃
Maddie doesn’t understand either
I have seen Armadillos as road kill and road kill wanna be
😢
@@RiggingDoctor I did not kill them, they run around in circles when the head lights flash on them. I have nothing against them
Oh I know. It’s just sad how many die on the road. I remember seeing a bunch of them dead on the side of the road in Texas.
