I'm sure in the 80's the old people of that time were complaining about big hair, gated reverb drums and Madonna. While I do enjoy the music of this era and there's plenty of acts that are making new music in these retro styles now. Just enjoy the music and leave the social commentary in your pockets.
I was shopping at Wal-Mart, I heard this song, and I was instantly taken back to 1991 where life was a little better. I surely missed this feel-good song and so glad I am able to enjoy it over and over again!

I always had a feeling 1991 was the last year of not only in good music but society itself. It was marked the end of the historic era from the 20th century era. Magic Johnson's retiring, Freddy Mercury's death, Soviet Union collapsed, and President George Bush speech of New World Order. The Boomers era was starting to come to an end and making new waves for the next darker and younger generation like Generation X. So yeah, we missed those times.
The on-screen chemistry between Amy & the male actor (Jme Stein) is off the charts. Stein was also in the "Baby, Baby" video.

Amy Grant is beautiful in so many ways. A awesome music artist, and a very beautiful woman. It amazes me that I did not really start listening to her music until 1988 shortly after my mom passed away. Her Christian music and the message in her music healed a lot of the hurt I felt during that time period, Songs like "Thy Word" and so many others touched me so much, and I love hew new music as well. She has not had a new album in quite a while but I am sure it will be soon.

Loved this song as a kid listening now it takes me back to those early 90s good vibes.
I've always loved the radio edit better than the album version, which this is. This was the 4th single from the massive 'Heart in Motion' album. You couldn't turn on the radio in 1991/92 without hearing one of the 5 singles released from this pop gem. There is another video that has her hangin' with a childhood friend. That version has the upbeat/bass that was played on the radio.
That version is used for the scrapped music video (the version you're talking about btw is called the 7" good for you mix)

This is legitimately one of the greatest albums of all time. An absolute supergiant star amongst a lot of really great other brilliant albums of the era. This one from 1991 is so unique in retrospect.
I met Amy Grant when I was 12 at Belmont Church. I got the guts to go up to her during singing and she signed by precious moments bible. I will always cherish that memory! she was so kind and such a sweet soul!! I love you Amy! I also remember how persecuted when she crossed over to secular when in reality she was already doing secular and christian in the same albums. The collection is a great example. And why on earth christians would judge others is such a great question. Cheers

I vaguely remember this on VH1 as a kid in 1992. It was the 4th single from Heart in Motion although it's the MOST 80s sounding song (which was kinda fading by then). They should've probably made it the 1st single so it would've done better. Almost nobody even knows it now.

What a great song and video, this is why I've been a big fan of Amy Grant's since the 80's. This album was amazing, just clean amazing, fun music. And the popularity of it, was a great way for many people to listen to her awesome catalog of Christian music.

'Heart in Motion' was one of the last albums having a true 80s sound (as the eighties actually lasted until late 1991 - in September entered Smells Like Teen Spirit and started the real 90s :)).
Actually it ended in 92 there was still some "particles" of eighties still lingering around but it soon died out
And when Nirvana hit it was a tsunami..it's like "Where were you when Nirvana hit?"

I think it needed to change. The feel of the 80s..big hair, over the top things, etc. just wasn't relevant to many people. More people were alienated an isolated than parying all the time and Nirvana spoke for them
