this video was doesn't mention the ban imposed by India on TikTok. The app was removed from Apple App store and Google Play store on 18th April, 2019.

-educational videos that can actually be used to aid studying (not trivia and fun fact type stuff)
-quick helpful guides to completing certain everyday tasks
-finding out about new hobbies to enjoy and places to visit
The list goes on (don't get me wrong the majority of stuff on RUclips is useless)

The American music and stuff are acting towards the same way, it can be highly popular and then after 2 weeks or 2 months, no one knows about it or barely talks about it. Bytedance is considered successful based on how much money it has earned on tiktok not by how long the app lasts. When this app finally dies then they will already create another trendy app. This kind of tiktok or stupid app won’t last long enough and the founder knows about it and it is okay as long as you grab tons of money from that app. That is how you grab fast money in 21st century, Indian ^^

I mean I understand that the consumer is now the product, I just from a personal standpoint, from a capitalist stand point don't understand the notion of being a product, having people buy and sell my data and incuring no benifit myself.
