Altweibermuehle at the Cannstatter Volksfest Verein in Philadelphia PA

Annual showing of the "Altweibermuehle" at the Cannstatter Volksfest Verein in Philadelphia. They reenact a German folk tale that transforms old wives into beautiful young women through a magic mill. The folk tale dates back to 1787, written by Georg Anton Bredelin under the title „Die Weibermühle von Tripstrill“. The Cannstatter Volksfest Verein used to run the play in German and English but dropped the German version probably due to the decreasing number of German speaking visitors. We hope the traditions continues for years to come .
