I had to do this for a program before college, all I can say is that I’m stunned. I loved watching every minute of this and the final part truly puts the whole play into a new perspective. Love it
Every year or so I come back to this and am reminded that it really is the perfect piece of art. Visionary, intricately planned, tightly rehearsed, beautifully thought through, and asking so many questions about how we might think stories should be formed. This was a seminal piece of physical theatre brought to screen, and will prove to be something incredibly influential for performers for years to come.
I had to study this play for homework and frankly it is one of the most brilliant and confusing pays I have ever watched. Coming into this I had no Idea what It was going To be like but I was defiantly shocked and amazed by the performance. I'm still not one hundred percent on the last few scenes but that doesn't matter. All in all amazing performance and a fantastic play to watch. Well don't to everyone who took part in creating this wonderful piece and thank you.
@@yuzden1700 if you dont like it you dont like it, its about life, we all have a life, many feel they have to follow the patterns given by others, study, work, get married, get a mortgage, have kids, but thats not the only way to do life and this seems to be commented on in a lot of Gecko theatres work, also its about fear of death, fear of losing what we had, its about the emotional patterns we pick up from our parents and pass on, its about a lot of elements like that, the ending is in part questioning if we want to live the conventional life, or if we might be happier to step out of it, to step out of the rush and meeting expectations. What do you think?
I had to watch the first few minutes of it in a class. Not sure if that's better or worse, because I spent the whole time both somehow freaked out, and also glancing around and wondering if I was the only person thinking watching a rug giving birth to a grown man was kind of, well, pretentious self indulgence. (Which isn't to say I don't appreciate and admire the skill and efforts of those who created/ performed it. Just that some things that can be very self satisfying aren't necessarily made better by them to others...)
Soo glad this is on here so that I can watch it. The 1st Scene (the suprise party) inspired one of the scenes in a devising project I recently took part in. My group took inspiration from Gecko & DV8 to create a story through movement. It was story about Homelessness & how it can happen to anyone. I managed to get a 1st for the performance, thank you Gecko for creating work that continues to inspire other creatives :)
gecko is such a brilliant company. I saw 'the wedding' last week with my school and was blown away by the thought-provoking and skilful performance. The director is such a creative guy and gave a brilliant response to something I said during the aftershow talk. after that, and also watching this amazing piece, it's safe to say that gecko is my favourite theatre company.
I also had to watch this for homework. But this is really good and i really enjoyed it. It's meaning is a bit cryptic but wow. You could theorize about this for ages.
Some people say this is garbage. But I think this is SUPER! Everybody’s performance is great! Imagine all the hard work they did to get it right. Love it! 👍
@Sophia Sharp it’s gonna be alright bro, trust me. i’ve been stressing loads recently and i did my proper gcse performance on friday, and it went really well. i’m certain yours is gonna go well too
I am sorry it caused anxiety, it does a little in me too, but also i love Gecko Theatre Company, ive seen 3 of their live shows and The Wedding was amazing!! They are trying to speak about particular things in a visual and physical way, i love it, but it is intense.
Anyone else’s drama teacher made their class watch this?
Yeahhh
Yes
yes hahaha
Movement teacher in my MA course 😂 excellent piece though!
yea
I had to make notes on this for homework
Me too. This is the most confusing homework I've ever had to do.

I had a mixture of enjoying this, and feeling extremely anxious throughout. The choreography was fantastic, though.
Spellbinding. Hands down the coolest thing I've seen in ages. Moved me in so many ways. Bravo

Why does this video not have a title or description?
I want to create subtitles for my native language. Can someone tell me where to find the text of the actor's lines in English for this performance?
Does anyone know where I can find the music used for this or something similar for a piece I’m devising?
I checked the credits and It said Dave Price
Beautiful.
i hated this, it really really caused anxiety
