Of course! Its only been partially successful unfortunately, as it turns out. I took the gear knob and collar off and looked at it for a while before trying a couple of small pieces of electrical tape on the gear lever shaft where the collar slides over and is at rest. It's just enough to take out any movement when the collar is not in use, and with a small amount of grease it still moves up and down ok. However, after a few miles and some heatsoak it still rattles. I might try again possibly using some aluminium tape instead. Getting the collar back on again is also quite fiddly. I wish there was a better solution because it's bloody annoying! Ideas welcome but for now I'm just wearing ear plugs 😅
@@NiknakMotorsport Thanks sir ! I have the same prob on my 620R - very frustrating ! One solution is just to live in the top of the rev band as you can't hear the rattle then 🤣 I have heard that apparently it can be fixed by adjusting the tension in the lifter cable but its a fiddly job and needs to be down right not to mess things up with the Sadev.
@@CarlThomasUK More revs is always a good idea!! The cable tension sounds intriguing. Mine is already under a bit of tension (partly why it's so fiddly to put the collar back on). But maybe if it was slightly more that could help, it would still pivot on the bolt holding it onto the cable though but maybe with something between the shaft and collar as well that might do it 🤔 It might be possible to fit a thin o-ring in the gap around the top of the collar too.
@@Shonesby Thanks! Do you mean the debate over red vs blue coolant, OAT or otherwise, and how certain radiator manufacturers recommend one over the other?
Pretty much - a friend sent me a link to it after I mentioned about looking at a Donington Edition, and this car was slightly cheaper and still ticked all the right boxes
What a great introduction to the prettiest Caterham ever spec'd. Looking forward to seeing more videos in the future 😎
@@CaterhamChronicles Thank you! Lots more to come 💪
What a stunning car. Congratulations mate. Bring on track season! Keep us posted on RUclips. Lots of updates please.
Awesome 7 Simon… can’t wait to see it! Great video too… love the intro 👏
That is sweet, looks great. Will be an absolute monster on track I'll bet, looking forward to hearing your thoughts when you get it out for a run.
I think so too, judging by videos of the race cars with the same gearbox and similar engine. Plus I can run slicks now. Can't wait!
That is mint, deserve that mate. Can’t wait to see that in the metal 🤘🏼
Love it, congrats mate!
Cheers Mike, hope you and the family are keeping well! Come back to the UK and you can go for a spin 🙂
Dude!!!!! That is lush mate!
oooooft, what a stunner. Congrats
Can I ask what fix you did to stop the reverse collar rattling?

Lovely bit of kit. My wallet is now sweating in case it has to find a way to keep up with you... 😅
Ridley Scott called, wants to know if you can help with the new Gladiator film.
Marvellous car. The red and black works really well.
🤣
I'll have to check my calendar! Cheers mate 🙂
Ok now I need another passenger ride in this beast 👹
Nice! Do you know the background to the blue coolant?

Sadev!………just a little bit jealous 😂
Wonder if they do one for a K series😀
@@caterham777 Adding one to my K was always in the back of my mind... but you do not want to know the current costs involved, it's a bit mad 😯
Documented!
Congrats! Made a new #automotive channel on discord!
Legend! Thank you for your support :)
Dang, this is basically the exact spec I’ve been looking for! Did you just come across it on Autotrader or similar?

Just barely the running in miles. I'd imagine it's difficult to make the time.
