The women of the feudal age commanded huge kingdoms and armies, during the period of courtly love they were elevated to semi-divine beings, Boccaccio dedicated many of his most famous books to women and in the 15th century Christine de Pizan wrote beautiful books, very critical about the Greek and Latin philosophers, often misogynists. Gender equality is an ancient problem which unfortunately has not yet been resolved. I'm not sure we can talk about feminism, but surely the figure of the woman in the Middle Ages, thanks to the cult of the Virgin Mary too, began to enjoy greater respect and consideration than in antiquity, but I believe that in history the female role has unfortunately always been overshadowed and the same is today. In addition to the horrendous daily injustices in this regard, it is enough to open a history book to notice how little space is still dedicated to the great female figures.
