@@eugenemotes9921I spent a couple weeks working with a couple tribes in AZ. I asked them what they call each other and they told me either Indian or the name of the tribe. They can spot what tribe you're in from 200 yards away by the gate of the walk.

I call them the Commanders, but that’s because I consider the Redskins a defunct team. The team that plays in Washington has no relation to the team that won those Super Bowls in my mind. They should have lost their history when they changed the name.

As a Redskins fan since the early 80's I love the shirt. It came out that the shirt isn't any branding from the team Quinn got it from somewhere outside of the team and I love it.

I’ve lived in Cleveland most of my life. I was always a huge Indians fan. I’m actually part Native American and have never had an issue with a team called The Indians or the logo with Chief Wahoo. I still rock my Indians hat almost every day, but I refuse to watch the new Cleveland team because they changed the name. The game lost its magic for me when they took away the name.

I was a Redskins fan, I had been a fan since the 80’s! The whole reason I was a fan was because of the logo. Especially when I found out that I’m part Cherokee.

It's amazing how people appropriate tribal names of the Native Americans, like how the United States army name all of the helicopters after Native American tribes, the very people they tried to exterminate. A classic case of irony, especially because they only use the names of tribes that still exist, not the ones they utterly wiped out. That is because they don't want to embrace the guilt, white people never went to embrace their crimes or guilt in any circumstance. Some people are posting, I'm a Native American and I love my Redskins, I'm black and I don't think so. That would be like me saying I'm black and I have nothing against slavery. Or that I have no reservation when it comes to white people. You can best believe those words can never come out of my mouth, and after Native American's kids were kidnapped, and S assaulted by their teachers at the Carlyle schools in Pennsylvania,that they have plenty of misgivings as well. My family are native Americans. I have been told that the natives were not even asked about changing the name. They all were very proud of the name. It's more of a shame to them as the commanders than the redskins.

I agree with you completely. I went to my first Redskins game in Griffith Stadium in 1952 and fell in love with the team and pageantry. My dad was a season ticket holder. Later I became a season ticket holder. I never saw anything that was demeaning of Native Americans. Quite the contrary, there were often half-time shows featuring Native American performers. Changing the name lost the team a lot of fans. Who would want to buy a Commanders jersey? The name is DUMB.

This all started a long time ago. Remember the Stanford Indians. Every year before the "big Game" they would build a huge bonfire in the middle of, dried up by then, Lake Logunita. There was a large paper-mache bear dressed in Cal Berkley duds perched on top of the structure and I do mean structure. A guy dressed as an Indian chief would run down and shoot a flaming arrow into the bear to start the fire. The cheerleaders, which at that time were pretty, would also wear feathers and be lined up on two sides for the chief to run through with the bow and flaming arrow. My friends and me who were still in high-school were just there to try to score with a collage girl at one of the many parties. Fun times. Now they can't tell women from men.

Can I please give my take/ POV when it comes to knuckling under to the "woke mvmt" in 2020? The ONE THING that Snyder did right for this organization was when he spoke to the media and said, "We wont change the name, and you can put that in all caps!!!" It was the right thing to say/do at the time, and we loved him for it!!! NOW!! A few years go by, and all these allegations come about, multiple investigations, yada, yada... and suddenly these allegations become personal... (to him/Tanya)... what they knew, what they didn't... and suddenly his proverbial tit is in the wringer!! At this point, I believe, that in his lil pea brain, he says, Oh Shit! We need a diversion... a smoke screen! Something so big and controversial, that it will take the focus off me/mine, and give these folks/media something to really talk about!! Well guess what his lil pea-brain came up with?? You got it!! Now, some will say, no, he was getting pressure from the "woke" crybabies, Pepsi, Fed Ex and others who had a stake in the team... Yes, while all that's true, I really don't think that if he didn't have fingers pointing in his direction at the time, he would've said, "That's ok, take a walk...don't let the door hit ya!"... bc YES!, he is that stupid!! That said, the vast majority of fans checked out, and although still pissed, would come back in droves if Josh, Magic, et. all decided to bite the bullet, weather the storm and change the name back, promising to never knuckle under again!! A shit-storm?? Yes, I'm sure, but you know what?? "THIS TOO SHALL PASS!!!" The woke wierdos will find another cause in fairly short order... know what else?? The backing contingent, who are much more loyal and steadfast than these whiney cry-baby types are, will profess their undying love for this owner/group!! They'll walk thru walls for that man!! I’ve been an “Indirect Fan” of the Washington REDSKINS my entire life. They should change back to the REDSKINS and tell the Wokes to POUND SAND! GO REDSKINS!!
Not only do I want them to change back but I want them to go back to the uniforms they won the Super Bowls with.
I refuse to call them the Commanders. Amazon is one of the biggest reasons they changed the name, when them and some other large retailers refused to sell their products it forced them to change the name.
Amazon had very little if anything to do with the renaming of the team, it was FedEx, Nike and PepsiCo that had the most impact on the team being renamed, unfortunately.
