great review been looking forward to seeing this car in SA. 150kw/500Nm seems a bit underpowered considering how much the car costs. The power output on a defender is superior on paper coming in at 221kW/650Nm.
1)Did the engine feel like you have enough power?
2)Would you take the Prado over the defender?

I sat in the First Edition at my local Toyota dealership in June. I didn't like the FJ Cruiser-esque design when I first saw it but boy does it look good in person 👌🏾. I would purchase the First Edition headlights at the Parts Department and slap them on the VX-R as they look proper

What about towing capabilities and also i wish Toyota would fit the JBL sound system standard across the range
Nothing really exciting about the same engine in Hilux,not even the 165 kw atleast in the Hilux Gr ,unless ofcourse you are not a car person
please review the performance of this new model, given that it's the same 2.8GD engine as in the previous version. The outgoing Prado was quite slow and the engine felt underpowered, it's tough to overtake in that car. The new 8-speed may make a difference but I doubt.
I did not feel it being underpowered here. Great application. Will see how it truly is once it’s on test

They have nailed it but, I wish Toyota catered for the V6 lovers as well. Their Toyotas in the US the likes of the Tacoma have very aggressive engines and despite the fact that fuel is very expensive, I don't think you care about fuel that much if you are able to buy a car over a million rand.
Unfortunately no V6s.
Would like to see all the differences between the VX-R and First edition and Price diff 🙏🏾

Yes
It can be locked when the car is locked.
When you get it on test pls comment on the suspension when driven on gravel ( ride quality).

Yes, tail lights from GWM Tank 500. Why anybody would opt for an overpriced piece of plastic is beyond me and how is the camera being on the inside smart when the glass will still get dirty? That's why other manufacturers have jet washers to clean the camera. Toyota just being cheap. Mozambique is beautiful though. Omg! It's gorge.
