We did see a lot more - as it was Lewes heritage day - we went into the Southover grange garden and walked past Harvey’s brewery. We also had a very interesting tour of the Masonic lodge.
Lovely Lewes - I visit often, so much history and so much to see and enjoy and some great walking in the vicinity - you barely scratched the surface but very enjoyable to see what you did see!
@@KevinsRambles great to hear that and I look forward to your part 2 video! My favourite place is the St John sub castro churchyard - never been in church but grounds have a lot of interest.
Nice one Kevin and Claire, I wish I knew you were visiting. Bonfire night in Lewes isn't just about Guy Fawkes: it commemorates the Protestant martyrs that were burned at the stake for their beliefs there. Next time you are in Lewes please give me a shout and I will show you the Tump: a mini Silbury Hill near the train station. It is truly ancient.
Ha! I think I got a glimpse of Claire in the church. Wearing blue? I love Lewes.
@andrewnorris2 Thank you, Andrew 😊.
Claire didn't know I would freeze the video on her, lol
I visit Lewes often, so much to see there and 4 or 5 churches 😊

Thomas Paine was born in Thetford, Norfolk. You can see a statue of him by Sir Charles Wheeler in my video of Thetford.
@marieascot Thank you Marie
If you want of know where Lewis (Lewes) is, ask Morse😅
