If I'm to buy a collision damaged vehicle it will not be one with front end damage. Getting a car to align properly, get proper working A/C, proper cooling, the frame redone and hoping the engine wasn't touched would seem like too much of a hassle. A little rear end damage or side swipe damage is all I'd spring for.

I don't know if its just me but over the years I am starting to see more newer cars totaled then the older cars.
Newer cars have a lot of small parts that cost a lot of money so that makes it easier to total it
