Got you! I haven’t used that specific plug-in but truly it doesn’t matter so much what you use, moreso how you use it. This video definitely highlights one of my simper chains yet still is very effective. Hope it helps!!!

Nope- just good vocal recording techniques and proper gain staging.
If something isn’t loud or clear- chances are you simply need to start by turning up the volume on that element before using any plugins.
It is worth noting that this was recorded with a high-end vocal chain consisting of a Neumann mic and Avalon preamp. Quality mixes start with quality recordings so keep that in mind! Best of luck.

@@5piece It sounds like you are already rolling off some lows on the avalon. I think this cleans up the vox pretty good already!

@@5piece When I record it comes out either super muddy or too harsh in the 2k area. I’m trying different ranges from 4 inches to a foot. I have the capsule slighter lower, level, or higher than the mouth area. I record in an Isovox with a decent treated room. I also have a Townsend Sphere ($1,500), Apollo twin interface, and great UA preamp plugins. Idk what I’m doing wrong. I’m a fantastic mixer and know a lot of tricks but the recording part is affecting me terribly.
