I’ve been using some of your methods in my mixes, which I think you very much. But I was wondering do I use that limiter trick and the Eq tricks at the same time or do I use one of these 3 individually as in choosing on or the other?
so damn helpful ! thank you!! I also wondered about cables... do you know if you have done a video on audio cables yet and if they make a difference on build / shielding, gold vs silver/ mogami or regular cables?
Glad I could help! Truthfully I'm not a cable expert so I'm not sure if I'm the best fit for a video of this nature. I've used a lot of cables (usually unknowingly) including some of the ones mentioned and I have hardly noticed a difference in audio quality etc. The only time I have is when using really cheap / crappy cables or ones that aren't balanced / TRS, and switching over to better cables. Overall, most of mine are silver and I've been satisfied so hope this helps!
Lol dang I haven’t seen u upload the vid yet but any tips on mastering song with two track beat to get it loud as other industry songs without sounding harsh
Yes, I've got plenty of videos where I use the Pro Q in a dynamic mode. Doesn't mean I can't showcase other ways to do things like using a multiband compressor. PLUS I have a whole video dedicated to WHY Multiband Compression is BETTER than EQ (Including Dynamic EQ) here: ruclips.net/video/iFGMmHFNzBI/видео.html
All 3 get used on most mixes that deal with 2-tracks. I don’t think one necessarily out-muscles the other, but rather all 3 work in harmony to get the vocal to cut out on top of a competing beat. If I could only choose one process between all 3, I suppose it’d be the multiband sidechain compression but truthfully they all serve a distinct and unique purpose here.
Absolutely! I actually show you how to do exactly that in this video: ruclips.net/video/-RYcDwcY7U8/видео.html In mixing, I find there’s always many ways to do something. It’s a matter of picking one and committing to it. Best of luck!
Either one works. If you use a recording template, incorporate this so you never have to think about it again. Otherwise, executing it in the mix is fine too! Just keep in mind sometimes these plugins cause latency, so it may not be a good thing to work in until the mixing stage since latency may throw off your recording. Best of luck!
@@5piece you legit explain things perfectly and I love how you mentioned the latency with plugins. I was mid session recording whilst attempting to mix with all the plugins I use and it created horrible latency in the recording. Ruined the session lol.
Everything on the beat track is deactivated, hence why those plugins are greyed out. They have no effect or presence on the beat. For maximum clarity: this beat has literally nothing on it except for what I talk about in this video. Hope that clears things up! 🤙🏼
Trust me, I agree 100% LOL been trying to figure out how to squeeze a monitor on my set up. It’s changed a bit since this video but I got a limited amount of space for one on my desk beside my monitors (maybe 20-21 inches at most between the monitors). One day soon I will figure this out
You and wavy wayne are the RUclips engineers I trust.
Okay between the good mixing/mastering tips, an the fact you reply quickly for the most part, ya definitely got a new sub here fam!!

Yessir! Best of luck my friend 🙌🏼
🔥🔥🔥
I like to use Neutron transient shaper & reduce by 1 to 3 db the mids attack
Nice! I’ve used transient shapers sometimes, just gotta be careful not to suck the life / hit out of the beat as they’re easy to abuse. Good tip!!!
@@5piece Yea you juste have to find the perfect place & i sometime boost the low attack to get the perfect balance
Can you do a video on mastering song with two track beat
Yup! Thank you for the suggestion. I will get this done - just need a good example song to work with. Stay tuned in the coming weeks ;)
5piece can send you my song unmastered

Frfr that’s the one we need thanks for this as well
@@prettyboyjj multiple videos on this topic dropping this month. I appreciate your patience!
You do know you could've just made pro q 3 dynamic right?

Which model gives the best results in your opinion?

Couldn't you just duck the frequencies in the ProQ the same way instead of using the MB?

Would I do this when I’m done recording and mixing or before when I first insert the beat to record?
Either one works. If you use a recording template, incorporate this so you never have to think about it again. Otherwise, executing it in the mix is fine too! what song is this? its FIREEEEEE
Believe it or not, it’s my own record that I’m working on called “What To Say” - looking to drop it by the fall. I appreciate the love!
Whats those plug ins on the actual beat tho not the aux??
