As someone who has never set foot on the America continent, the things I’ve noticed about Hollywood’s portrayal of Mexico is Yellowish filter, church, gangs, shootouts, a native lady in need of saving, a white saviour and more shootouts.
I think this is pretty close to the reality of Western media’s reporting of China not only on Covid-19 but all matters regarding China. More often than not reporters with biased views of China are employed so they don’t need much pushing to file negative stories.

Western media will use some yellow and gray filters when shooting China... I didn't know before, until I was in the same day, the same city, and the same district with bbc. The photos in my mobile phone are blue sky and white clouds, and the report of bbc looks like smog, very gloomy...

That example eventually led to the collapse of the USSR. The good thing in HK is that RTHK does not represent the official opinion of the HK government, nor the opinion of the vast majority of the HK people. For the sake of having a peaceful environment in the HK, ordinary people ought to stand up & stand out to go against RTHK.

I was a journalism student from early 2000. Back then, most affordable student PCs at home were only capable of editing audio assignments where video editing had to be done on campus, not to mention all the unaffordable software licences. The world was rather peaceful then, comparing to now.

Yes, looking back at the situation, even the Superman could fly faster to spread the information. But people were trying to figure out what the hell was going on, such as whether it was an airborne disease or not, and could it be passed from person to person. What did you want them to tell the whole world about something they themselves did not know about and close all the hospitals? There is another interview of similar nature but the lens focused on really odd things, like the Buddha Fruits the lady gave the CNN crew to eat, which looks a bit like weird alien octopus....Then the lens went to dark corners of the house.....Creepy. Eeelll, Chinese people are just creepy, eating odd foods and living under oppression. Then they showed two happy scenes of Wuhan but the context was abhorrent : Wuhan people celebrating the defeat of the virus and was having a huge pool party and then the October 1st Independence Day party, but how dare they when so many are suffering and Wuhan is the "CAUSE". At the end of the report the guy who lost his father and the interviewer stood above the dirty river with some strange trash in it floating in greenish yellow water. Yuck. Who the fxxk would want to visit such a place, ever?

This is so accurate and to the point! I remember watching a 60 Minutes broadcast interviewing Wuhan residents a year after the pandemic. It all seemed so sad and fearful, and yet you also hear news that Wuhan residents had a beer festival/pool party in October to celebrate their release from the virus. I definitely think the Western media does selective editing to highlight the negative and eliminate the positive in any story about China. If the US or Europe were to achieve 1/10 the success that China has achieved in fighting the pandemic, they would be jumping up and down like mad and crowing about their victory.

哈哈哈哈哈哈哈哈😄。I swear to God that I just watched the CNN version 40 minutes ago about going back to Wuhan one year later, then thought about the same stuff editing manipulations immediately!! Most of the Western reporting never veered far away from that dirty yellow undertones.
What is up with the dirty ugly market, dirty ground, dirty people spread out the video? You know Wuhan has money and glitsy malls and cars and nice places, right, CNN? They found the same guy whom was interviewed by tons of Western Media. The gentleman lost his father because his dad went to a hospital not knowing COVID was spreading so his dad caught the virus and passed away.
It is really sad that his dad died and the son now wants justice, stating why the government PURPOSELY CONSEALED the information and he is filing a lawsuit against the government but there is no response, then cited how this is against China's self proclaimed "rules and laws" and thus not democratic....So here we go again. Yes, looking back at the situation, even the Superman could fly faster to spread the information. But people were trying to figure out what the hell was going on, such as whether it was an airborne disease or not, and could it be passed from person to person. What did you want them to tell the whole world about something they themselves did not know about and close all the hospitals?
There is another interview of similar nature but the lens focused on really odd things, like the Buddha Fruits the lady gave the CNN crew to eat, which looks a bit like weird alien octopus....Then the lens went to dark corners of the house.....Creepy. Eeelll, Chinese people are just creepy, eating odd foods and living under oppression.
Then they showed two happy scenes of Wuhan but the context was abhorrent : Wuhan people celebrating the defeat of the virus and was having a huge pool party and then the October 1st Independence Day party, but how dare they when so many are suffering and Wuhan is the "CAUSE". At the end of the report the guy who lost his father and the interviewer stood above the dirty river with some strange trash in it floating in greenish yellow water. Yuck. Who the fxxk would want to visit such a place, ever?

This is so accurate and to the point! I remember watching a 60 Minutes broadcast interviewing Wuhan residents a year after the pandemic. It all seemed so sad and fearful, and yet you also hear news that Wuhan residents had a beer festival/pool party in October to celebrate their release from the virus. I definitely think the Western media does selective editing to highlight the negative and eliminate the positive in any story about China. If the US or Europe were to achieve 1/10 the success that China has achieved in fighting the pandemic, they would be jumping up and down like mad and crowing about their victory.
