I used a scented trash bag for laundry. I just throw some in my bag. It acts to clean things smelling fresh and I can reuse when I return house as garbage bags. Hugs Z. Allora
CONGRATULATIONS Christina!!!! Your channel status is so well deserved. Here's to 100 more videos, and thousands more subscribers. You've created an amazing channel here.
Omigosh, toothbrush on a clothespin, brilliant! Some truly amazing tips in here; thank you!! PS, duct tape is a wonderful blister preventer, just slap it on your bare feet, on the rubby spots for those shoes. Doesn't help with existing blisters, but it's great for avoiding them!
While I understand the reasoning behind booking the window and aisle seat, it is NOT convenient for the person who ends up in the middle seat. Had this situation recently on a long flight with a full plane. They wanted to keep their seats but kept reaching across me to pass and share things, leaning over me to chat, etc and thought I was rude when I asked them to either switch or stop leaning over me. It was a more uncomfortable flight because these two were trying to clever. Not a fan of this hack at all!
I’m really surprised to hear they didn’t want to switch!! To me this hack only makes sense if you’re fully prepared to switch into the middle seat if it’s occupied… otherwise it’s just super inconsiderate. Sorry to hear you had a bad experience!
Then don't book yourself in the middle seat. If you want to be cheap and not pay to pick your own seat, then don't complain when others do. If I'm traveling with someone, I always book the aisle and window seats for us
@@kanerskougar3503 I have no issue with how you book unless it overflows into my seat, so to speak. However, keep your hands, etc to yourself, not on and over the middle passenger. Your comfort doesn’t override that person’s comfort. That is all I am saying - be considerate. My daughter later suggested I should have dipped into the bag of munchies that kept being passed back and forth and added my thoughts to the conversation, with opposing viewpoints and … that is a thought. Might be interesting to see how that would work.
Great video!! I loved the clothespin travelhack with the toothbrush, never thought of that! I always bring a pack of sanitizer wipes and baby wipes because they don't count as a liquid and I always use them on the plane/traveling. I also bring a power bank, a three way charger that fits apple, android, and download shows/videos before getting on a plane.
I did a trip to Ireland in the spring. I took several shirts that had 1 more use out of them. Always covered by my jacket so I still looked o.k. Also old underwear and a couple of pants that had slight fraying. Ended up with only 1 set of clothes coming home. Good thing because my traveling companion bought several hardback books. Fortunately the airline weighed both of our bags together and we were under the weight limit - 8 pounds for mine, about 70 (!) for his
Haha hardback books are always a killer 😂 I have a few in my suitcase right now and had to sacrifice some clothes to get under the weight limit. Glad to hear you’ve used the old clothing trick too haha
This is a fantastic compilation! Thank you, Christina! I like the info about using your phone to record things that help you keep track of yourself…hotel, menus, ads, routes, distances, and ways to use your phone offline.
Put your phone, kindle, wallet, passport and other small valuables into a clear zip lock bag before going through security screening. I had my Fitbit stolen from the security screening tray, now all items that are in my personal item bag are in a zip lock bag which keeps sticky fingers away from my stuff.
@@Ekin.K.A. goodness knows. It was very busy at the time. I reported the loss at the time and all the airport security said was to fill in a loss report, which I did before my flight. I never heard back from airport security but the travel insurance company paid out for the loss without any question. This led me to believe it must be common.
Love packing cubes but recently learned if my trip involves different hotels, I need to use different colors when using same or similar size cubes to help differentiate the items. I kept opening 2 or 3 to find what I needed so lesson learned
A caution about powders. According to the TSA powder-like substances greater than 12 oz. / 350 mL must be placed in a separate bin for X-ray screening. They may require additional screening and containers may need to be opened. For your convenience, we encourage you to place non-essential powders greater than 12 oz. in checked bags.
LOADS of great suggestions! Your Duct tape suggestion even if it's 6-12' can work in a trauma situation if you don't have med tape or a trauma dressing. I never even thought of this for travel. Thanks for the tips!
Ouuuu love tip 100! Congratulations on reaching over 100k in subscribers! Quite an accomplishment. When you showed us the picture of the 🌈, I thought you were in Nova Scotia! Congratulations again! Enjoy your break. Greetings from Cape Breton!
Thank you so much!! I filmed this one up in Scotland so you were somewhat close with Nova Scotia haha 💛 I hope to make it to cape breton someday though. It looks amazing!
Congratulations! Thanks for such a great video. We are going to Rome next month and will likely do a lot of walking. Any tips on the best sneakers/walking shoes that are not running shoes? Thanks so much!
Hi do you think it’s okay to travel during winter? Since I’m coming from SEA region, we don’t experience snow or even cold weather at all. And I’d like to experience that once in my life 😄
lol funny story. on my way back from london i got so annoyed that the 8+hour flight was over because i finally got around to watching pitch perfect and was 3/4 done with the second one! lol i think it came out in 2012 🤣 i watched so many movies on that flight. i usually wear compression stockings but i just made sure to get up and walk around between movies!
Ok sooo I saw something that might want to be noted. From my understanding if ur traveling abroad and have multiple medicines to not put in a pill planner . I was told u have to have the label on them so that way if customs stops to look in your bags it wouldn’t look like your in smuggling drugs. Like the prescription label with your name
Assuming that rules will be the same in all countries which are "abroad" to you is asking for trouble. Do your research before you go. When in doubt, ask the embassies or consulates of the countries you want to visit or transit through.
@@HeikoEbelingwhat I mean is to keep your medicine with the bottle that has that specific prescription label. I saw it in videos with the US customs. I’ve never gotten stopped by customs. But I’ve seen it being said to keep that together.
You can sometimes peel the label off the original bottle, with care, and restick it to a small silicone pouch. I do that because I've too many ex's. Even my required supplements get a label. No issues so far
As an older adult I appreciate your guidance in the more modern aspects of travel particularly Aralo. I will be looking into it. I’m a loyal follower. Thank you!
That is a good idea about donating clothes. But how would that work if they’re dirty and you can’t wash them ? Do hotels in Europe have washer dryers ? I’ve never seen one., also never really thought to ask too
Please don't do that. It only ends up as rubbish. Buy sustainable clothing that lasts a long time. There are already enough mountains of clothing waste.
I left my super nice adapter behind in a hotel . Next hotel had one but they made sure it was listed on the room charges and would bill me if not returned at checkout. I verified it showed returned. I now triple check every outlet, door and hook before leaving 😂
Hmm depends on your priorities, I think! Assuming you are able to leave the airport and you really want to see Amsterdam in that time, taking the train into the central station is easy. You could take the train in, go for a walk and have a nice dinner, then either go back to the airport to sleep or if budget allows, book a hotel either near the central station or airport. That’s probably what I would do!! Hope that helps 💛
@HappytoWander thank you! This is solid advice. I believe I'm able to leave the airport and do a bit of exploring. My main concern is safety since I'm a solo lady traveller for this trip
I've seen people borrow umbrellas from hotels all the time, but a lot of times, they only allow one umbrella per reservation, and if rain is expected, you need to ask ahead of time because they may run out. Some more tips is to prepare pet care, whether it is having someone visit your home having your pets in a long term daycare. Same for any plants you may have, indoors and outdoors. It is also good to have a neighbor pick up any newspapers, packages, or mail that gets delivered so people don't know you are out of the house. If you don't have a house, like me, it's still good to ask a neighbor to keep an eye out for any packages so they don't get stolen. Even better, you can ask USPS to hold all your mail until you come back from your trip.
Hahah unfortunately I think I’m too forgetful to be anyone’s personal assistant 😅 in fact I might need my own personal assistant to hold my life together lol
Which hack is your favourite? Have any more to share? Let me know in the comments!!! So grateful for all 100k of you

I’m so glad you enjoyed it as well hahah I was gobsmacked
I love the business card idea and I definitely agree with bringing cutlery.
Glad I watched all the way to the end as I love your tip of postcards of each place visited. Thanks for combining all 100. They are great.
I’ve watched a lot of travel hack videos . This by far was the most complete video on ideas. Loved the postcard journal.

The postcard idea is genius! Not so much the toilet flush!
A lot of good stuff in this video. Thanks a lot. And special thanks for the bathroom tip too. Nobody says these things even tho everyone poops lol
Hahah I’m so glad you liked that. I was deliberating cutting it but ultimately left it in because as you say, everyone poops!
Compression sock should wear b4 boarding the flight?
Yes!

baby powder or cornstarch is great for removing sand too, I always had a tiny container of it.

Ask your pharmacy to give you extra label and stick it on a pill baggie that doesn't take much space.

If someone is picking you up when you arrive home, get them to wait in their car at the departures level or area….way less busy than arrivals!
