I'm watching going YES, YES, YES. So many times the Senior wants to fall out of the pose immediately because they think that's what they are supposed to do. I agree with you about talking to them before you pose them to let them know they are going to be in that pose for a while and the only changes you will be doing might be different angles of their head and different expressions and I like to sometimes move around them to get different angles. Beginner photographers really need to learn posing so they can not wear their subjects out by shooting 20 shots that a pro could capture in 3.
My biggest struggle is definitely when my mind goes blank on poses. I'll watch videos days before shoots and then forget some of my favorite poses! 🤦🏽♀️
I am SO GLAD I found this today. Posing is definitely not my strong point and I tend to overcomplicate things as it is, so simple clear instructions is what I need. This is it!!
You two are awesome! I’ve been a professional photographer for about five years now, and a lot of your tips are fresh material for me. You also make it easier to master every session where I go into the shoot knowing exactly how the whole thing will play out. So thank you for all of your info 😊
I've taken a lot of photos of girls but I love the simplicity of your approach. Thanks for all the tips. My favorite tip is staying in the same pose but varying the arms and legs especially letting them know you are going to stay in this pose for a while is handy wording. I love also standing on a stool to make the subject's eyes open more. I have dealt a lot with squinted eyes.
Thank you for these videos! I have watched most of your videos and have learned so much! Posing is my biggest problem but your tips have made my sessions so much better!
Yes, I’ve had a few girls say absolutely no serious looks. To get a natural laugh , I’ll tell them to give me a dramatic look… then I’ll say “wait, I didn’t say to look mad” … they usually laugh
Emily you had me giggling when you snapped your head around to look where to giggle...lol...My daughter is an Emily too! Great tips from you ladies...I worked for a studio for several years but did mostly sports or class pics or dances (they have 30+ schools...one school alone had over 900 kids...uggh lol) Also proms etc.. but that was alot of the same pose doing one couple after another under controlled softboxes to crank them out as quick as possible...."point that front toe and pop that knee ladies" (even under the gown to get that s curve) if I only had a dollar for everytime I said that!. Now my "no compete" contract is up so I'm striking out on my own again! "Lifestyle" that is so popular is a different world than what I was used too! Peace and love from Wild Wonderful West Virginia!!
I have the hardest time with getting them comfortable and where to put arms and hands and not look awkward. Ironically with my daughter ( my most used model) and her anxiety I have the hardest time mixing it up and making her look natural.
Flow. I struggle with flow. I will set up a pose and get distracted and then move to the next pose and think O NO, I was going to do this or that. I have recently started writing cheat sheets in my pocket.
I run out of things to say! I end up repeating myself over and over...."Soooooooo cute! Awesome! Omg I love it!" But? there's only so many times you can say that? LOL! And with Senior boys....ughh! Frustrating!
What is something you have struggled with in posing senior girls? Thanks for watching!

Great ideas! What aperture, focal length and shutter speed do you commonly use? Thanks!
Hey!! Check out our training where we talk about our settings!! e-squared.mykajabi.com/manualmodetraining
Do you guys have a video on your settings for saving photos in Lightroom for print
We don’t! Great idea.
Can't find the sheet
Posing ideas
Cannot find the links for the downloads on any of your tutorials when I scroll down. Have they been removed?
Nope. You have to click the down arrow by the video title and you will find it.
I do struggle with the hands/wrists /fingers. It really comes down to some girls naturally know how to move,,some are a bit more “stiff”
Cannot find the cheat sheet!

I freeze up. Especially with sitting poses. I think my standing poses are decent though
Can you model a natural giggle?
Flow. I struggle with flow. I will set up a pose and get distracted and then move to the next pose and think O NO, I was going to do this or that. I have recently started writing cheat sheets in my pocket.
