  • So this is a big question I've been getting for a long time, Eric why are you vegetarian and not vegan, do you eat fish, what is the difference between veganism and vegetarian and more importantly how or does it actually affect our spirituality?

COMPASSION!!! I gave up meat in August 1991 when I made burgers for a backyard BBQ. I had never even thought about it before, being brought up by European parents that remember being hungry during WW2 (and never let us kids forget it either, as they raised us in sunny southern California). As I was washing my hands, the meat was stuck all over my fingers, and I took a good look at it, for the first time in my life, and I thought "Why would anyone want to eat this? It is the flesh of a being!" I did not eat a burger that night, or ever since. I live on trail mix and a few other things.

I think this is just the placebo effect combined with your body burning off your own fat. I did feel good too the first 3 months into veganism, as I was 114 Kg's heavy, I went down to 77Kg's. However I started feeling less alive. Got eggs into my diet again and later all animal products I normally ate and now I feel and look younger with 26 than with 25 :)

When my frequency was very high before though all of a sudden I didn't want to eat meat and went vegan but I did not have all the knowledge I do now..I was only eating green vegetables and I was constantly tired. I now have Oats in the morning a starch beans veggies for dinner and it's working very well.

The biggest key: "The animal has been cared for properly. Everything being commercialized and industrial causes a loss of compassion."
The problem isn't eating meat or dairy. It's eating meat/dairy from a system that abuses the animals. So if you get meat from organic, local farmers, you can still be spiritual.

Wonderful video! I went vegetarian a few years ago. Then I went vegan because I discovered that dairy products disagree with me. I feel better than I've ever felt in my life.....more energy, no more insomnia, cessation of constipation and digestion problems, lowered cholesterol, better meditation. I've lost a lot of friends who aren't vegan but that's ok. What matters is my health and personal growth.

Hello from North Carolina! Yes!!! This is everything I tell everyone who asks me why I don’t eat meat or drink milk or heaven forbid I don’t eat cheese. I fully intend on raising my children to be healthy, compassionate, peaceful humans and I will raise them on our farm. Is it ok to eat eggs... yes, if they are from your chickens that you love and care for. I will eat goat’s cheese that I personally make from my goats that have names and are loved and taken care of. Their babies will still drink their mother’s milk and live happily. I will not kill my own animals nor will I support any animal farming that isn’t my own. If we live with this mentality our world would be much more peaceful. Please have respect for Earth and all that lives on it. It is not ours to share for it belongs to all of us...plants, animals and humans. Respect life please

What does even spirituality suppose to mean? Its different for each person..True spirituality is the connection of man with his creator..And this can be achieved through prayer.Less meat ofcourse will make you less agressive(in most cases) But dont think spirituality is crossing legs doing yoga and being vegan..You are being distracted in to never ending loops..

Service to self pathway: Prioritising your own needs (for sensory pleasure, health "benefits") at the expense of another (taking away their freedom and life while causing pain, suffering) There are ways to prioritise your needs in harmony with others. I believe this is the divine battle going on between service to self vs others, and eating meat, eggs and milk puts you on the service to self path IMO

What an empowering video! I love your positive messages. Listening to your body is surely number one. I actually made the switch to veganism because my body was showing signs of toxicity.
As you said, the taste will change when your diet becomes more plant based and simple raw food will start to be a lot more tastier than they used to. 😁
Must be boring food for some but for me this is symbol of life. I also noticed becoming more aligned and awakened than ever before and it keeps growing the more I detox my body with green clay cures. This is super powerful to clean your system and to feel more grounded.

Compassion!! For me it was Spirituality first, then feeling connect to all living things, especially other people and animals. And after about a year of going vegetarian, I decided to go full vegan after participating in veganbootcamp online and remembering why I was vegetarian for seven years in my 20s. I didn't want the Karma of what happens when I pay somebody to kill or dominate another being for exploitative purposes.

I don’t generally eat meat or fish. I do it out of compassion, I don’t want to bring any harm to these animals and I’m also putting the vibration of that into my body. However, sometimes I do. Sometimes it’s difficult to find better vegetarian options and if I’m hungry and I know I need to eat to stay healthy, I may go for a meat option. I don’t beat myself up for it. I know it’s okay. A lot of people criticise that and say I can’t call myself a vegetarian etc, and tbh that’s fine. I don’t do it for the label. I make my own choices and I’m happy that I take consideration with it.

I am super compassionate and I eat meat.
Herbivores can digest fiber, Humans can not. What does this tell us about our natural diet ?
I Love animals too , but it's not obsessive. I Love humans more, my kind.
We should be allowed to thrive.
Also noticed how predator animals have eyes like us that look forward focused ? And herbivore , prey animals have their eyes on the sides of the head to better see hunters ?
I believe you are a good man, but you have to learn more about this subject. And yes I was Vegan.
However kudos to you for pointing out that you don't have to do/ be anything to be spiritual :)

I have always wanted to ask if being vegan/vegetarian affects your energy and your ability to manifest. I have been born and raise a vegetarian and I'm 25.

I respect people's opinions, I read the comments, move on. So I will post my opinion here with all due respect. I will be blunt and tell you my thoughts on this subject. As long as you eat or use any animal products, you are indirectly causing pain, suffering, torture, and death to millions of animals. I was a vegetarian for 6 years, then I watched a documentary that changed my views on everything. I watched Earthlings and that made me a vegan. I have now been a vegan for 5 years. I do not use any animal skin, fur, or feathers for clothing or linens. I do not use any products that are tested on animals, I do not eat any animal products. I did it for ethical reasons, but the benefit to my health has been amazing! Although, I respect those who prefer to be vegetarians, you are causing death to animals that are abused in order to make milk, cheese, and get eggs. "Free range" chickens, are abused, kicked, they are sick and have broken bones. Even though they are sick, they are still taken to be slaughtered. You're eating an animal that was sick and was tortured until the last day of his/her life. We are the only animal on earth that were taught to drink the milk of another animal. Cows are kicked, burned, mistreated in so many ways, it is heartbreaking. They keep them pregnant to keep producing milk. Cows have their udders so infected and swollen sometimes that they are in pain. All that infection goes to the milk that your drink. Their babies are taken away. They put a muzzle like apparatus on their mouths, to prevent them from drinking their mother's milk. Then, they are separated from them, they are taken into huts and eventually killed for viel. They kill them while they are still babies, just a few weeks old. Geese and ducks are forcefully fed, then killed to have a "delicacy" as a meal. Baby chicks, if born Male, are put alive in grinders or suffocated in plastic bags and are thrown in the trash. For those who eat marine life, crabs and other like them, have their limbs torn apart, while still alive. Lobsters are boiled, alive. Fish are taken out of the water, they do not die right away. They are gutted while they are still alive. How is that ok in anyone's mind is beyond me. I'm an animal rights activist, therefore, I have done extensive research on this subject. I know people who went undercover to film these atrocities and be able to educate people. How do you expect to be spiritual when you're indirectly a part of such torture? For me, veganism is not a trend, is not something I'm doing because it's a "thing" now. Although, whatever the reasons people are becoming vegan, I am happy about it. When I eat, I do so happily, guilt free. Vegans try our best to cause as little or no harm to the environment. I hate when someone uses the argument against veganism and say ignorant comments such as "but plants have feelings too." Yes, in some ways they are alive. The difference is that they do not have a central nervous system like humans and animals do. For me, becoming a vegan was the best decision I could do for me and my body. I felt that as long as I put on or in my temple (my body) torture and death, I could never be at peace with myself, the environment and the universe. My comment is not to attack anyone, but to hopefully make you think about the pain that animals endure daily. Compassion over killing, is my one of my mottos. I will write a separate post with some documentaries that I recommend watching. Thank you and have a beautiful day 😊

My life’s purpose is to do everything I can to improve the way animals live. That includes everything you mentioned and I seriously find it funny how people come up with bizarre arguments to justify the murder of innocent and loving animals. Ignorance is indeed bliss for the majority, but not for me. I’m doing whatever I can in my current position to fulfil my purpose but to make a big and serious impact, I need to free myself of the confines of this material world so that all I do, I do for them unheard pure souls. It’s sad what’s happening but I can see more people feeling compassion for animals everyday, so there is a better future ahead.

Compassion. It is. I was asking the Universe “what’s next?”. One day, I was meditating and suddenly I heard in my mind “ change to vegan diet/vegetarian diet “ I was wondering if I was having imaginations.. next thing I did was to google and the full answer came to me. The trauma and stress the animals had to go through before they died, I saw tears rolling down their eyes, neck been slashed to drain their blood and a slow death they suffered just to be out on our table. Grief and sadness came to me deeply. I just stopped having the urge to eat meat instantly. It have been a month and I have no urge to eat meat. Less carbon footprint, fewer painful deaths if more people stop eating meat.

These are some documentaries that I recommend to watch
Earthlings is hard to watch. It had me in tears the entire time, but it opened my eyes and changed my life. Hope you will watch at least some of them. Most of them are not graphic. Paul McCartney once said, "If slaughter houses had glass walls, no one would eat animals."

Consuming dairy is not compassionate. Adults don't need milk let alone milk from any other animal. spiritual is being (CONSCIOUS) and understanding the actual real world we live in ..the right from wrong/ good from evil then aligning your morals.

I stop eating meat about 10 months ago. I found that certain veggies I couldn’t eat unfortunately so I do eat fish bc I think I would starve. But I stopped the meat bc my body was just like you don’t need it. So listening to my body has helped.

this is a great video because that's what i had been trying to find out. it would be extremely difficult for me to be vegan because i dont like the taste of any vegetable, and yes i know veganism is not only about vegetables but still... however i could probably be vegetarian.
