Your thumb is accidentally hitting the screen that’s why it’s shooting in random directions. 😂. You need to move your thumb placement more on top of the right stick you are using the whole side of your thumb. Both the Ally X and Legion go have thumb sticks that are closer to the screen vs the steam deck. You just need to retrain yourself on how to hold them. In my opinion the legion Go is the most unergonomic of them all. It feels like you’re holding a piece of wood with buttons coming out of all directions. The FPS mode is trash. The Ally 1st gen is also a weird shape on the sides and is uncomfortable. The Ally X is much better but nowhere near the feel of the Steam Deck OLED. At max power and plugged in the Ally X performs better access the board vs the other windows handhelds mentioned and significantly better than Steam Deck OLED. When the kill switch is available for the Ally X, you will have a new all around king of the handhelds. Barring the Steam deck OLED screen, and the awesome controller with track pads. Can’t wait to see what valve does for Steam deck 2. Until then the Ally X is my new daily driver. I can finally play the games I want at good frame rates and settings and also not feel like I’m holding a chunk of wood.
I vastly prefer the Ally and Ally X over the Legion Go. The massive size of it makes it less like a handheld than the Ally. Plus with the X it lasts significantly longer. Plus the software of Legion Space is just no where near what Armory Crate is. Also I prefer the screen on the Ally as you can actually play a lot games at native resolution unlike on the Legion Go where you're limited to either older games or low end games
I'm a PC gamer and have a high end rig but been wanting a handheld for portability Ally X in my opinion is too expensive for an incremental upgrade so I am swaying towards the legeon go! I'm just a bit worried if screen tearing is an issue on the Go due to no vrr?
@@makavelisreturn86 you will see some tearing from time to time but it not tht crazy, am editing game test video right now with few games so you can tune in and get an idea when it go live in about 3hrs
@JahsonENT does running Vsync make it smoth and also require me to frame cap on the legen go? Thanks for the reply brother just subbed and looking forward to th gameplay comparison 👍
@JahsonENT just to add think for me the screen size makes the win to the Legeon go just like I said sceptical on the screen tearing with no VRR because no way the ally needed 144hz or hitting it unless emulator games. Hasn't the Go got hall efect sticks too? Sorry for all the questions really appreciated tho
Yes the Legion go has hall effect joysticks and triggers. VRR is overrated tbh you will still have stuttering and loading in areas it'll never be a seamless experience unless the game is extremely optimized. Programs such as lossless scaling (frame generation 2x and now 3x) you can make full use of that 144hz screen. Get Rivatuner to cap your fps and add lossless scaling to it, you'll have a buttery smooth fps with no screen tearing and minimal frame drops if any.
The reason in the first descendant the screen does that is because you're accidentally touching the screen. Btw should i return my legion for the ally x?
@@oofnut123 you what’s funny I just figure that out today am like Woow, so now I have to adjust my fingers which is annoying! I have been having issues with the legion so i probably will go with the x the speakers are bad the fan isn't enough to cool it except if u run it at 100% sometimes but then its too loud. I dont mind having a small screen to be honest. But thank you!
@@JahsonENT mainly just maybe up to xbox 250 and ps3, as i have a few i wouldn't mind revisiting like the dynasty warriors gundam games, and maybe naruto broken bonds, since that was a really good naruto game back in the day, but never had a re-release. since won't really be in graphically intensive games, maybe something like a steam deck is more appealing to me, plus im the sort of person that would probably fk up a setting or 2 on the legion go and ruin it, cos some of those settings really looks complicated
Does Legion Go support AFMF2? I've looked into this and haven't seen anything definitive. AFMF 2 is literally game changing, essentially doubles your FPS on the Ally X, supports every title, and doesn't have a lot of input latency. Right now this is the main deciding factor for me, I can live with the upfiring speakers, I can live with the smaller battery and the lack of VRR. IMO the Legion Go is better simply for that larger display. I wish the LeGo had front firing speakers, a larger battery and VRR. Basically what I'm asking for is an Ally X with that display.
Both are very good device, still legion space is far behind the armory crate in terms of the game optimization, also battery and ram is the advantage of the ally x, meanwhile legion go wins on the screen size, fps mode, and better build quality in my opinion.
I have sold my Legion Go not once but twice. Got the first one and it always crashes, the controller is really shaky. Sold it and decided to buy it again but disappointed and sold it again. This time the controller is good but because of the size and weight of the system, the controller will break if the system is not handle properly. Sold it mainly because the system crashes whenever I play MW3 😂 Actually i own most of the system but Ally is still the best. Never crash even a single time and Ally X is even better. Legion Go will never have this type of experience like Ally X. Peace 😂
Very strange, never had a single crash except on a game when I set the VRAM to 8 GB. Probably because the game required more RAM and was poorly optimized
The go may have very slight less performance overall because of the ram but it's not enough to be overly noticeable. But the extra screen size, detachable controllers, built in kickstand, and touchpad just makes the Go feel better overall.
The RAM difference makes very little difference in actual gaming, and it's really not any faster. The only things going for it are the battery, which frankly is a very big deal, and the native landscape VRR screen, which is not THAT much of an advantage, as most people don't buy those expensive handhelds for playing old PC games. The Go has a big beautiful screen, so less squinting at small text, and this is a huge plus. The rest (detachable controllers blah blah) is just marketing fluff you'll use once and forget about it.
@@sanderdegurra9002 It might help in very specific scenarios in very specific games, and even then only to very minor extent. The RAM speed makes more difference here, and it's the same as the Legion Go. Very similar performance between them, if not downright identical.
@@megaloth1955 oh I see. Well other than the ram and battery life the Legion is better in every other way. The screen, the build quality, touch pad is all top notch.
What are you surprised about? The Go is better and more versatile, it can be a full pc. The Ally X just has a bigger battery and more ram (kind of wasted as basically no game uses 24GB yet) They run give or take the same but the Go has a much better screen, a strong kickstand and detachable pads, it's a much better investment in the long run and it's easier to repair too, if the pads break, you can easily replace them, if the pads break on the Ally, you gotta send the whole device to fix them and good luck with Asus crappy customer support, lol.
right after i was done recording that’s when i figure out its was my thumb doing it whole time😂, fps is trash i never actually used it before. the ally x design much better. i heard a lot good things about steam deck only bad is that it not powerful enough to go over 15 tdp and out the box you can only play steam games

Also I prefer the screen on the Ally as you can actually play a lot games at native resolution unlike on the Legion Go where you're limited to either older games or low end games
yeah true make sense
@chrisboucher2813 Thanks for the reply! Really appreciate the feedbackI'm going to get the legeon go! 100%
I think with more ram, 24 or 32 and bigger hd 1tb+ with a better battery the legion go 2 will do a better job then the first gen!
yeah it will, if they can fix space as well, Asus wouldn’t stand a chance unless they make Rog ally bigger
I cant find a grip case for my ally X
do you know of any?
no, but did you try amazon?
Skull & co will come out with one for sure. They deliver some of the best quality imo. Owned it for the OG and it made the device feel so comfy.
Lenovo has to make a refresh or a sequel to Legion Go
I believe we will start hearing about one soon
The reason in the first descendant the screen does that is because you're accidentally touching the screen. Btw should i return my legion for the ally x?
@@oofnut123 you what’s funny I just figure that out today am like Woow, so now I have to adjust my fingers which is annoying!
I mean it’s really up what you want most, when I play first descend on the x with the setting in the video I get almost 2hours 30min, then try on 19tdp and I got almost 3hrs, now which u rather best battery life or bigger screen Thts what it come down too!
@JahsonENT i had the same thing happen to me haha.
I have been having issues with the legion so i probably will go with the x the speakers are bad the fan isn't enough to cool it except if u run it at 100% sometimes but then its too loud. I dont mind having a small screen to be honest. But thank you!
is the Lenova legion really all that better then the ROG Ally X
all depends what you want as the gaming wouldn’t say its better
@@JahsonENT mainly just maybe up to xbox 250 and ps3, as i have a few i wouldn't mind revisiting like the dynasty warriors gundam games, and maybe naruto broken bonds, since that was a really good naruto game back in the day, but never had a re-release.
since won't really be in graphically intensive games, maybe something like a steam deck is more appealing to me, plus im the sort of person that would probably fk up a setting or 2 on the legion go and ruin it, cos some of those settings really looks complicated
Lenovo legion go the best
What ur reason why you say that
Legion go all day 🎉❤
💪
Does Legion Go support AFMF2? I've looked into this and haven't seen anything definitive. AFMF 2 is literally game changing, essentially doubles your FPS on the Ally X, supports every title, and doesn't have a lot of input latency. Right now this is the main deciding factor for me, I can live with the upfiring speakers, I can live with the smaller battery and the lack of VRR. IMO the Legion Go is better simply for that larger display. I wish the LeGo had front firing speakers, a larger battery and VRR. Basically what I'm asking for is an Ally X with that display.
Yes it does, am doing video on it tomorrow,
Everybody is getting that Rog Ally X. I'm getting seriously enticed with the Rog Ally X. I hope I don't end up getting it.
😂
The Legion Go had no match currently. I sold my deck oled and ally (non x) after getting the Go
Nice
Hahaha😂
Both are very good device, still legion space is far behind the armory crate in terms of the game optimization, also battery and ram is the advantage of the ally x, meanwhile legion go wins on the screen size, fps mode, and better build quality in my opinion.
you are right
Yes
💪
YES it is, it's not even a competition. The Ally looks like a toy. Asus customer support is also a joke.
I heard about the support
i'll stay with my legion go
I have sold my Legion Go not once but twice. Peace 😂
its just the drivers, Lenovo always behind with drivers update, but you can install driver from amd not wait on Lenovo to tweak them
Very strange, never had a single crash except on a game when I set the VRAM to 8 GB.
Probably because the game required more RAM and was poorly optimized
The ally x is gorgeous, I have the legion go for a while and it's bleached. I'm not happy with it and I loveeeeeeee my ally x, it's just incredible.
sound good i share my love both ways 😂
If only the ally was bigger
if i had one wish that would be it too
if the screen was 8inch and had the rest of its new updates it would be the true king.
I use a powerbank. Idc about battery size no more
sound good
Legion go for me 😎
💪
Sold my new legion go for Ally X. I dont regret it. Best choice i ever did
sounds good
Awful tastes- Have fun with Asus poor customer support.
@@sterus2283 lmao...
@Norbertoka910503 What do you like better about X ?
BRO YOU COULDN'T UPGRADE THE RAM BY PUTTING 32 GB RAM LIKE I DID.. YOU SPENT 900 DOLLARS THAT DOESN'T CHANGE ANYTHING I'M TALKING ABOUT ALLY 😂😂☝️🇮🇹🇺🇸🙏
what about the battery size too lol
@@JahsonENT the battery lasts half an hour longer.. ☝️
I got the Legion
nice, can’t go wrong with either
The go may have very slight less performance overall because of the ram but it's not enough to be overly noticeable. But the extra screen size, detachable controllers, built in kickstand, and touchpad just makes the Go feel better overall.
yeah u right, every one have own reason why they like each one
I m surprised to see the comments section most people prefers Legion go. Isn’t the X faster smoother with bigger ram?
The RAM difference makes very little difference in actual gaming, and it's really not any faster. The only things going for it are the battery, which frankly is a very big deal, and the native landscape VRR screen, which is not THAT much of an advantage, as most people don't buy those expensive handhelds for playing old PC games. The Go has a big beautiful screen, so less squinting at small text, and this is a huge plus. The rest (detachable controllers blah blah) is just marketing fluff you'll use once and forget about it.
@@megaloth1955 oh the ram don’t make much difference in performance? I thought it would.
My legion go audio sounds like garbage anyone else going through this ??
Yup we all having tht problem, the speakers on the go is horrible
@@JahsonENT Thanks man I appreciate you
I would go legiongo if they at least gave opportunity to bump that ram to 32gigs. As is, it's correct low setting most but not all games.
Yeah don’t have to play on low setting I just did it for the video, I always play on medium
I have tne steam deck oled 1tb, I'm thinking about trading it for a legion go, but i get up to 8 hours of battery on the deck
right after i was done recording that’s when i figure out its was my thumb doing it whole time😂, fps is trash i never actually used it before. the ally x design much better. i heard a lot good things about steam deck only bad is that it not powerful enough to go over 15 tdp and out the box you can only play steam games
you not ganna get 8hrs on legion go. if want something with good battery life ally x and then it all depends on type of game and settings of the game how many hours u might get
@@JahsonENT I had the first Ally Z1 extreme, with the bezels screen and battery life, I really just don't like the Ally, maybe I'll keep the deck and get the legion go and get an SSD and battery upgrade
@@JahsonENT that's true it maxes at 15, but I've played every game no problem, and you can dual boot with installing windows 11 on a micro SD card, kind of a lot of work but if you have the knowledge and time you can make it do everything that the Ally and legion Go can do, just not at the same frame rates
@@josephhall7317 yeah I seen pple side loading windows
🤔 the go is too big for me
Rog ally x is for you then
I do not miss thar big screen at all
rather the big battery?
@@JahsonENT i love the battery on the ally x
Yow a ja u deh?
nah lol, you in ja?
Legion go plastic joycons attached in a metalic rail, wooble guaranteed
yea at 800 just get a gaming laptop
you can, most pple just like the portability of the handhelds
Cheap plastic with awful hinges and dim screen laptop u get for 800.
Yes, above $600 is too expensive for the Z1 extrem.
Legion Go fanboys drooling over the screen. You know deep inside Go is weaker. Go play in your PC or TV if you want to play in a bigger screen.
Had both. Ally X all the way. Way smooth.
No
Legion space is just complete trash
no lies was told😂
Cope more Asus fanboy.
@@sterus2283 but doesn’t that make you a lenovo fanboy? You🤡
Legion Home is just to big.
It’s not portable at all.
true hope that taking notes and feed back from us
I had the og ally and LOVED IT! i bought the legion go and i llve it mkre ryan the ally BUT......that power of the X cant be denied lol. Only issue i have with my legion go is the damn dock smh. I bought the ugreen 9 in 1 dock and holy shit is it horrible
Nice, yeah battery life on x is great too
Hello! Have the same dock, what issues do you have with it?
Luckily I’m in the return window for my legion go and swap to ally x 😊
Sounds good
I'll go LEGION GO. End of story.
